Finally, the first major motion picture about the Mexican-American Labor Leader Cesar Chavez. Actor Michael Peña will portray the title role of Cesar Chavez, the labor leader and co-founder of the United Farm Workers, who fought for workers’ rights and became an icon in the Latino community after his death. The film also stars America Ferrera as Helen Chavez and Rosario Dawson as Dolores Huerta, among others. The script was written by Keir Pearson (“Hotel Rwanda”) and the storyline covers ten years of Chavez’s life starting in 1962, when the National Farm Workers Association was founded.

The film’s director is Mexican actor Diego Luna. Luna says he was driven to learn about Chavez following the birth of his son in the United States.
Here is a part of an interview with Director Diego Luna on Huffington Post. Luna believes learning about Chavez can help the country learn about itself:
“Well what happens is that, well, they are Americans but it’s a very complicated relation[ship]. It’s such a long, long, long frontier between the Third World and the First World, and that separates them with their story, with so many things I believe are necessary to become someone, to know where you come from…For a long time people in the States were saying ‘you’re telling a story about Mexicans’ and I said ‘no, no, no this is a story about Americans in fact’ and that we Mexicans have a lot to learn from. It talks about this double moral issue that you find a lot in the States, where there are all these people feeding the country, building the country but at the same time [it] is a country that doesn’t want to recognize that, but doesn’t want to get rid of them either, that just wants to keep them in the shadows. And that’s probably why there’s not a film about Cesar Chavez today.”

It is wonderful to hear that the studio behind this film worked closely with the Chavez family and their COO, Edward Allen, said it’s more than a movie to them:

Cody is still next to me, his grip on my hand once again strong, but his body is stiff. I’m rewinding mentally, realizing just how far I went. Shit! I said way too much! I don’t even know what I’m doing here. This all suddenly feels way too intimate—wrong. My pulse is speeding up the more I think about what Trevor would think if he saw me, saw this—saw us!
I slide the pillow from my chest to the side and work my fingers until they’re out of Cody’s grip. He remains next to me, but isn’t moving. I’m pretty sure I just made him feel unwelcome in his own bed, the awkwardness creeping in now and almost choking me. I have to leave, leave this bed and then leave this room. I’ll be calm until I shut his door, and then I’m running.
Yes, that’s it. I’ll run.
“Oh God, I’m sorry. I just unloaded, like, way too much on you. I’m…I’m just going to go,” I say, pushing myself up to sit at the side of the bed and slip on my shoes. The light is dim, but I can tell that Cody’s eyes have shifted to me. He’s still not moving or speaking, and I don’t really want him to. I just want to get out of his room without him saying a word.
“Thank you, truly,” I say as I stand and look once more at the ceiling. “The stars? They’re amazing,” my voice wavers, and I turn and walk to his door. I’m gripping the handle, willing myself to keep it together for just a few more seconds until I’m out of his view, when I feel his body behind me and see his hand flat against the door.
His breath against my neck raises every hair on my body. I’m looking intently at his fingers splayed out on the wood paneling of the door in front of me, my hands still gripping the door handle. Beyond this door, my life continues on one path—a path I know. A path I love. But I’m stalled, considering what happens if I stay in this room. I’m paralyzed. Fear. Indecision.
“Cody, I…” I start, but don’t know how to finish.
“Just stay,” he says, his voice barely audible, and the air released from his words sends more chills around my neck and down my entire body.
“Just…” I hear him swallow, and even though I can’t see him, I know he’s struggling. I keep my eyes forward and watch his fingers curl into a fist on the door, clinching tightly. “I won’t…I wouldn’t make you uncomfortable. I’m not asking you to do anything. Please…please just stay,” his head falling flat against the back of mine as he speaks. I can feel him breathe me in, and I feel like I’m racing down a hill, lightheaded from the conflict brewing inside.
“Okay,” I whisper, not even aware that it was me speaking. I’m on autopilot, turning away from the path I know and recognize on the other side of the door, but desperately worried that it won’t be there when I finally leave this room.
Cody’s hand slides from the door to my shoulder, and I shiver as he traces the back of his fingers down the length of my arm until he finds my hand once again. He pulls me to him, forcing me to turn into his body. I keep my eyes focused on the words on his shirt, reading the dates and towns to myself. Some tour shirt—a concert, perhaps? Or maybe a race? I’m trying to keep my mind busy with this pointless task when Cody reaches for my chin and pulls my face to look at his.
His eyes are serious. Even in the darkness of his room, I can see the flecks of blue—I’m that close. I watch them as they move to the side of my face to follow his hand as he pushes my hair away from my face slowly, tucking it behind my ear but leaving it there, his fingers tangled deep within my hair. He tilts his head to the side, and I think for a moment that he’s about to kiss me. I lick my lips on instinct, and I feel him tense up from it.
His hand forces me forward into him and I close my eyes, almost believing that if I don’t see it coming I won’t be able to stop it. I feel his chest press to mine next, then his hand wraps deeper into my hair so he’s cradling the back of my head. His other hand slides up my side to the middle of my back, and his chin comes down above my head so I’m completely tucked within his embrace. I’m sheltered, and it’s the first time I’ve ever felt my heart actually stop from being in someone’s arms.
Giving in, I bring my hands up Cody’s back so I’m hugging him tightly to me, my fingers gripping at his torn T-shirt. I slide my face flat against him and let out everything I’ve been holding in—it feels like for years.

Paramount has been circulating a version of the ‘Noah’ trailer around religious conferences and will soon release it to the public. There has been some mix reviews at the early film screenings, mainly that the story strays a little from the actual Bible story of ‘Noah’, while it was well received by others. Production for the Fifty Shades Of Grey movie, which was scheduled to begin filming November 1st, 2013, has been rescheduled to now begin filming on December 2nd, 2013. We are left to wonder if this delay will cause a change in the release date, which is currently still set for August 1st, 2014. We will update you if we here any new changes.

So far we have actress Dakota Johnson as virginal-nice girl, Anastasia Steele. It is said that Dakota Johnson assisted in choosing the replacement for Christian Grey’s role.
Just yesterday, the news was announced that handsome model/actor Jamie Dornan has been cast as Christian Grey, replacing Charlie Hunnam for the role. It seems many “Fifty” fans support the new leading man.

Original Post (Pre-TV Series news): Bad reviews, a soft opening and a tepid $80 million worldwide haul—these are not the signposts for a successful launch of a YA franchise. And indeed, despite a small but very vocal fanbase for “The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones,” it seemed that Constantin Film had thrown in the towel when it was announced that the in-development sequel, “The Mortal Instruments: City Of Ashes,” was being shut down indefinitely. The future of the series was in doubt, but today, it looks like fans of Cassandra Clare have reason to rejoice.
It seems your letters and petitions have paid off as Constantin has revealed that ‘City Of Ashes’ will continue forward one way or another. “The fan response, from the blogosphere and the thousands of mails we have received, has encouraged us to keep going,” head of the company’s film and TV Martin Moszkowicz told THR, before adding the zinger: “It’s been overwhelmingly positive, in contrast to some other YA titles.” But that doesn’t mean that he’s completely blind to the fact that ‘Bones’ failed to find a wide audience.
“We are analyzing what we did wrong with the first film, particularly with the positioning and marketing, and what changes we have to make,” he explained. “We are working with a great group of people to reposition the franchise.”
It’ll be interesting to see how Constantin approach production on the sequel. We can’t imagine they’ll spend more than the $60 million they did on ‘City Of Bones’ this time around, but clearly there is something in the numbers they’re getting to indicate this series is worth a second crack. -via: indiewire.

We have updated news on the progress of the Mortal Instruments Book Series becoming a television series. The word is that ABC Family channel will be where you will find the “Mortal Instruments” drama series titled “Shadowhunters”. The show idea is said to be a 13-episode drama series and casting news will be announced in the near future since production is said to begin in May in Toronto. Check back for more updates!

The latest news that was announced in 2014 from Constantin Films (owns the rights to the Shadowhunter books) is that they are Not doing a film after all for City of Ashes but are working on developing a television show instead. This will be working toward creating a pilot for the show with show runner Ed Decter (Helix) in hopes to get the show into production some time in 2015. There is no news yet if the same cast will return or if there will be a recasting for the t.v. show. More news to come. I will share it once it is announced.

The first Official Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters Movie Poster!
As they are known on Twitter, the Vampire Academy fandom of fans is called #VAfamily and we know for a fact that yesterday they were in #fangirl overload.
The Official Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters Movie promoters have been very creative and pretty original in their methods to spread the word about the film for it’s February 14th release date in most countries.
They seem to be depending on word-of-mouth with the help of a tool called “social media” to spread anything about the movie across to their worldwide fans! And it seems to be working!
Yesterday a tumblr page was announced on Twitter and Facebook promoting a tumblr account that comes straight from “St. Vlad’s”, which happens to be short for St. Vladimir’s. That happens to be the name of the Academy in the Vampire Academy story.
The tumblr page is set up like a gossip page about the students at St. Vlad’s. It’s a nice mix of “Gossip Girl” meets the “Burn Book” from Mean Girls! So you know you can expect some juicy stuff and awesome pictures in there about the students and maybe even it’s staff.
Talk about a fun way to promote your film!

20th Century Fox, New Regency and director David Fincher are getting set to finalize the casting for Gone Girl, the Gillian Flynn novel. Taking on the lead roles will be Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne and Rosamund Pike as Nick’s wife, Amy Dunne in the film which is set to begin shooting this fall. Fincher has set Tyler Perry to play Tanner Bolt, the attorney who reps Affleck’s character after his wife disappears, and Neil Patrick Harris will play Desi Collings, the wife’s former boyfriend. While those characters are set, Fincher has also cast Kim Dickens and Patrick Fugit, who will play detectives who investigate the mystery in Gone Girl, while Carrie Coon is set to play Affleck’s character’s twin sister, Margo.

‘Recently added to the cast list is Model and actress Emily Ratajkowski better known for her appearance in Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” music video. Ratajkowski will play Andie, a college student who has an affair with Nick and later teams with Amy’s parents in an attempt to prove Nick’s role in her disappearance.

After he is critically injured by a car bomb outside his home, Alex is resurrected by the ominous corporation OmniCorp who utilize their knowledge in robotics to save Alex Murphy’s life. They not only save his life but he is made into a part-man, part-robot police officer known as a Robocop. Murphy returns to the streets of his city with new abilities and issues a regular man has never had to face before.
There seems to be a trend in the movie world where 80’s hit-movies are being resurrected and remade. If you can remember the first Robocop movie was released back in 1987 and became a huge hit. This remake looks like it may hold some of that same entertainment value as the original. Will you be at the theaters to check out this new RoboCop film?

Shailene Woodley, who just wowed in The Spectacular Now and is currently filming the leading role in The Fault In Our Stars, continues her hot run with Divergent, the film adaptation of Veronica Roth’s hit novel about a future Chicago that breaks people into various factions based on their personalities. It seems like paradise, but really, it’s a nanny-state dystopia, and it’ll take a brave dissenter like Tris — they can’t control her! — to change things. A little Hunger Games-esque, but plenty to look forward to, anyway.
Co-starring alongside Woodley is Theo James, who plays her instructor/love interest Four. The film, directed by Neil Burger, is due out:
