Glass Ceilings by A. M. Madden 2

The Synopsis:

When a perfect new love is shattered, two hearts will do anything to pick up the pieces. In this sizzling novel from the bestselling author of Stone Walls, irresistible heat leads to sensual thrills—and a secret that changes everything.

Two years ago, Nick Farley was undercover as a bartender in Chicago. The tough-as-steel FBI agent was working all the angles to build a case against a local crime syndicate, but even his intense focus was no match for the sight of Angela Cavello’s plump pink lips pulling on her drink. All Nick got was one night—the longest, hottest, sweetest night of his life. It could have been the beginning of something real. Instead, she walked away—and Nick watched her go.

Angela has made some mistakes in her life, but Nick was never one of them. Nor was the baby boy he doesn’t know about. But Angela has been running from a stalker for so long that she’s forgotten how to feel safe. So when Nick suddenly reappears in her life, Angela faces a moment of truth. She wants to trust him and reveal her secrets—her life and the life of their son may depend on it—but first she needs to know that Nick can handle her past, and promise the one thing she most craves: a future together.

Glass Ceilings is meant for mature audiences 18+ due to sexual content and adult situations. Glass Ceilings is a stand alone novel from the True Heroes Series.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review’ after reading ‘GLASS CEILINGS’ (True Heroes Series – Book #2) by A. M. Madden:

In this entertaining second-installment of the True Heroes Series titled “Glass Ceilings” by A. M. Madden, you’re given a great blend of suspense, romance, and mystery. I did not get the chance to check out the first novel of this series but they are written in a way that they could be read as Stand-alone stories. Glass Ceilings is written from the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views), Nick Farley and Angela Cavello.

“Nick Smith” was hired at a local Chicago bar called The Dump. This wasn’t just a regular job for him, he got a job there in order to go undercover to investigate and load-up on evidence of a possible drug ring within the location. The unexpected occurs right before his time is up at this job. He meets an attractive woman named Angela. He can’t help but want to get to know her even though he knows his time is limited in Chicago.

Angela Cavello is a beautiful brunette woman who currently lives with her fun cousin Eve. She had no plans of meeting any guys and only had her mind set on getting out of Chicago. The city itself was not at fault for her need to escape but her obsessive ex-boyfriend Ronnie has been cruel enough to make her want to run away from him and this city as soon as she possibly can. But now she’s met Nick, the very sexy bartender who she quickly feels a growing attraction for.

As Nick and Angela begin to explore their attraction to each other little by little, over a brief amount of time, they both share their secrets and what plans they have in store. Will Nick fall for the beautiful woman that he’s quickly become smitten with or will he move to New York and forget all about Angela? And can Angela escape her ex and start a new life? Can there be any room to get to know Nick or is he simply a distraction she doesn’t need right now?

What could of been a big turning point for Nick and Angela, simply becomes a past bitter memory. There are secrets that they have kept from each other and when they once again reunite, will the spark bring them back together or will their secrets rip them apart once and for all? The storyline was quite entertaining with a good dose of suspense and mystery, and of course I can’t forget to mention their romantic and hot connection. If you’re looking for more than just another amazing romance and love some excitement of the suspenseful variety, then I recommend this book for you. It’s worth checking out. 🙂

Piece Of Infinity CURSE SERIES 3 by Emily Bold

The Synopsis:

In the third and final volume of Emily Bold’s The Curse Series, Sam returns to the present day from seventeenth-century Scotland, reunited with her love, Payton, and relieved that the curse has been lifted. But their happiness is tempered by Sam’s unsettling feeling that all is not yet right. Overburdened with the guilt she feels for unwittingly causing the curse that destroyed Payton’s life for nearly three centuries, Sam is determined to return to the past to fix it. Fearing that the love of his life will want to remain with his past self, Payton follows Sam into history, desperate to bring her back to the present—and to the new life they’ve made together.

As the past and present clash, the two lovers face the most difficult choice of their lives: allow their history to remain as it was, with all its dangers, injustices, and pain, or fight to improve it—and risk the very love that binds them together.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review’ after reading ‘PIECE OF INFINITY’ (The Curse Series – Book #3) by Emily Bold:

***WARNING: Possible SPOILERS if you haven’t read the previous novels of The Curse Series yet.***

In the third and final installment of The Curse Series titled “Piece Of Infinity” by author Emily Bold, there is so much to say about the conclusion. This novel series was originally written in German so I had to wait patiently(actually anxiously) for the American-English version which was hard to do because the first two novels just progressed in such a breathtaking kind of way. The storyline, these characters, and the way it travels from the present-day to the past, has all been written in such a beautiful and magical way. This third novel ended perfectly and will leave readers feeling full-filled completely. This novel was written in five P.O.V.’s(point of views) from Samantha, Payton from both the Past and the Present-day, Nathaira, Alasdair, and Sean..

Samantha “Sam” Watts has returned to the present day from seventeenth-century Scotland. The curse that was put upon her love, Payton McLean, was finally lifted. Their happiness should’ve felt wonderful now that they could be together for good. It should feel like their “Happily ever after” but it hasn’t been that easy.

Payton is able to finally feel again after so many years under the curse but it hasn’t been so good for his relationship with Sam. The heartbreak he suffered after Sam left him hundreds of years ago, still lingered in his heart. Sam had to leave to return to her time but it was becoming hard for Present-day Payton to forgive her for the pain he felt from the past. Sam has also been carrying her own pain from the past, that she can’t shake this need to return to that time in order to fix mistakes that were made.

When Sam returns to the past, not completely by her own choice, she sets out to correct what she can while trying to stay alive and unharmed. When Payton realizes that Sam has gone back to the past, he follows his love back to that time to bring her back with him. His only worry is making sure not to run into his past-self. Can he fix a few issues he left unsettled upon his return? Can Sam and Payton beat the test of time, once and for all or is their love destined for heartache? Will danger and vengeance seek them out causing them more problems? And can forgiveness give them the peace they seek in order to love without the weight of those past choices?

This entire series has been a phenomenal journey, with breath-taking moments, and heart-wrenching growth between the characters through out the story. Everything that was left in question, unravels in such a marvelous way and everything is settled, one way or another.  The author blended the time differences in such a smooth and beautiful method. This novel has such depth that I really hope no one turns away from it because it falls in the YA(Young Adult) genre because it goes well beyond that. Bravo, on this conclusion. I really hate to see it end but the ending was still perfection! Check this one out. I highly recommend this novel and the entire series. It’s definitely a “Must Read!” 🙂

Piece Of Infinity CURSE SERIES 3 by Emily Bold 2

MEMORABLE QUOTES & LINES FROM ‘PIECE OF INFINITY’

Sam’s thoughts:  We loved each other. More than I’d ever believed was possible. We were meant to be together, no question. Each of us had looked Death in the eye for the other. We’d defied a curse- no, two curses, in fact- and our love had held strong throughout all time.

Sam and Payton:  “Do you think about the past a lot?” I asked quietly.
“Sam, not a day goes by where I don’t think about the dark times. I still feel that emptiness somewhere inside me. Even though my love for you is helping gradually forget that… that horror, and even though every new, wonderful memory with you lifts my heart a little more, I still know I’m no longer the man you left back then.”
“Every time I look at you, Sam, I wonder whether you loved me more back then than you do now.”

Payton’s thoughts:  By God, he would love her, would show her that he was the only one- for the rest of her life. The cold water closed over their heads, washing the memories, the blood, the pain, and the humiliation away.

Payton to Sam:  “Samantha Watts, you changed my life such an infinitely long time ago, and even my old, cursed self has come to understand what a gift fate gave to me. The time for doubt has passed. You and me, we belong together.”

Sam’s thoughts:  I lifted my eyes to Payton’s and saw boundless love. Like the carefree Payton he’d been before the curse, he let me gaze to the bottom of his soul, showed me all his emotions: his hopes, his fears, and the guilt that would always follow us, but could never hurt us again.
The only thing that existed for me was this one moment beneath the stars, in the glow of the candlelight, and the certainty that everything was coming together as destiny had planned for me.

Tuesday by E.L. Todd 2

The Synopsis:

Getting over Hawke is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.

I couldn’t breathe, sleep, or eat. Every day was more agonizing than the one that followed. But somehow, after two years of suffering, I finally got back on my feet.

And I moved on.

Now I’m living in the city and running my own bakery. Life is good again. I’m surrounded by good friends that I love, and every day is even better than the last.

Until everything changes.

Now I have to face him after two years of silence. I have to look him in the eye and act like he has no effect on me. I have to hold my head high and pretend he didn’t shatter me into a million pieces.

I have to act like he doesn’t mean a damn thing to me.

Can I fool him? Can I fool myself?

My ‘Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review’ after reading ‘TUESDAY’ by E. L. Todd:

***WARNING: Possible SPOILERS if you haven’t read the previous Novel of the Timeless Series.***

This is the second novel of the compelling Timeless Series titled “Tuesday” by author E. L. Todd. The amazing relationships between the characters will draw you in and the enjoyable storyline will pull you in, keeping you wanting to see what will happen between them all. This book is of the New Adult genre as well as a Contemporary Romance. Tuesday has been written in the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views) Francesca “Frankie” and Theodore “Hawke”.

The story picks up two-years later, Francesca “Frankie” now owns her own successful bakery business in the city. Living her life focused on her business while keeping a “hook-ups only” relationship with a guy named Kyle, Frankie seemed to be over any trace of the heartbreak she had with Hawke two-years ago. With the upcoming nuptials on the way, how will Frankie handle possibly being in the same place as Hawke once again after two-years?

Hawke has had a similar ideal plan, which consists of keeping busy with his career. When his best friend announces his engagement and enlists Hawke as his best man, he knows what that means. It means coming face to face with the woman who has held his heart: Francesca. Will he be able to handle keeping his distance from the woman who holds his heart completely or will this mean trouble?

The Timeless Series is an emotional journey the deals with falling into that all-consuming  kind of love, dealing with imperfections brought on by issues. Will Frankie and Hawke be able to get passed their heartbreak or are they destined to rekindle that strong connection of love in their hearts? Has Frankie moved on for good? Will Hawke be satisfied with his shallow one-night stands? And what has been going on with Axel and Marie? This second novel of the Timeless Series is touching and enthralling. The characters continue to be strong, imperfect, beautiful and intriguing. I do recommend this book and the series! Check this out and definitely add them to your TBR list. 🙂

MEMORABLE QUOTES & LINES FROM ‘TUESDAY’

Hawke’s thoughts:  Whatever love she had for me was either gone or buried deep within. It was far from the surface that it never saw the light of day. She didn’t look at me the way she used to, like I was the only person who mattered. It was like I didn’t matter at all.

Frankie’s thoughts:  I could have thrown away every memory I had with Hawke and started over, but I didn’t want to forget what we had. To me, he wasn’t just another boyfriend. He was the one.

Hawke’s thoughts:  I was dangerous. I was a monster. I would rip her to pieces. Spending the last two years without her was torture. I’d never been so lonely in my life. I would rather have some of her than none of her at all.

Frankie’s thoughts:  “You’re a good person, Hawke. I hope you realize that someday.” He held my gaze without blinking. His blue eyes thawed from the ice that had frozen over. I saw the man I formerly knew, the vulnerable person under the rough exterior. Just for an instant, we were frozen in time, but a time different than reality. It was two years ago, and that connection between us burned like a raging forest fire.

Monday by E.L. Todd 1

The Synopsis:

I don’t believe in destiny.

In fate.

Or in soul mates.

But I believe in Hawke.

My life has never been whole since my parents left forever. I have my brother, someone I can barely tolerate most of the time, and I have my best friend, Marie.

And I have myself.

But when Hawke walks into my life, there’s an immediate connection. Our eyes lock and an unspoken conversation is exchanged. For the first time in my life, I actually feel something.

But he doesn’t.

He keeps me at arm’s length and pretends there’s nothing between us when there clearly is. I’m not the kind of girl to wait around for any guy, so I don’t.

But that doesn’t mean he isn’t in the back of my mind.

Our paths cross again in a way neither one of us expect and it changes everything. Was it destiny that made it happen? Was it fate?

Or was it something else?

______

My ‘Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review’ after reading ‘MONDAY’ by E. L. Todd:

“Monday” is the first novel of the Timeless Series by author E. L. Todd. This is my first time reading this author’s work and it definitely was not a disappointment. This book is of the New Adult genre as well as a Contemporary Romance. Readers will be reading “Monday” through the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views) which are Francesca “Frankie” and Theodore “Hawke”.

Francesca “Frankie” works at a local coffee shop and is a student at the nearby university. She has dreams of one day opening her own bake shop business, which comes from her love of baking that she learned from her grandma “Yaya”. Dating isn’t really on her mind but when her flirty best friend Marie talks her into flirting with a regular mysterious customer that comes into the coffee shop, she decides to give flirting a try. As she gets to know the really attractive guy at the coffee shop, she becomes interested in getting to know more about him. There’s one problem: His mixed signals are very hard to read.

Hawke is a very simple man when it comes to women. He doesn’t mislead them in any way. Only pleasure is the mutual enjoyment he’ll share with them for a short time but no strings attached is the only way he’ll do that. There is something about beautiful Frankie from the coffee house. She’s sweet but confident and there’s a natural sexiness that just draws him in. He doesn’t keep an emotional distance to hurt anyone. Hawke keeps his walls up because there are dark secrets he keeps to himself that he doesn’t ever want to show someone if he were to risk getting close to them.

After an evening together of what feels like a genuine growing connection, the night ends on a strange and confusing note. This leaves Frankie wondering “What went wrong?” When Frankie finds herself in a surprising predicament, she has to find a way to maneuver herself around the holidays and the surprises she finds when she visits her family. Will Hawke give Frankie a chance or is he destined to never truly know what love is? What are the secrets that Hawke is keeping about his life? How will Frankie deal with her brother Axel’s surprise?

“Monday” is such an emotional roller-coaster. It takes you on a tail-spin of highs and lows. Francesca “Frankie” is a strong female character with a few flaws. Hawke is a mysterious man with dark reasons for why he keeps his distance but there is more to him. He’s a very passionate person but carries a darkness that will either consume him or force him to fight that part of himself once and for all. There is something alluring about reading a story with such strong characters with many imperfections. You can’t help but hope they get things right. I do recommend this novel for anyone who can accept reading a story about intense, imperfect and raw characters who expose a kaleidoscope of feelings due to their background of heartache or cruelty. A few notes for readers: This story ends on somewhat of a Cliffhanger and there is talk of abuse in the story. Check this one out when you’re looking for the next intense and intriguing novel to read!

MEMORABLE QUOTES & LINES FROM ‘MONDAY’

Frankie’s thoughts:  I just didn’t feel anything for any of them. Not like I did with Hawke. Why? Why did I want a guy clearly unavailable? It was so annoying. There was a plethora of guys at school. Why couldn’t I just like one of them?

Hawke’s thoughts:  She was different than other girls. She was smart, confident, and strong. She took care of herself and didn’t need a man to help her out of a boat or carry her pack on a hike. And that was why I couldn’t be with her.

Hawke’s thoughts:  …I’d completely misread her.
And I felt like an idiot.
I didn’t want to walk away the way I did. But I didn’t want to give her a reason to call me. I pushed her away so she wouldn’t want anything to do with me. Because I knew I would struggle to stay away from her.

Hawke’s thoughts:  The moment we met, there was something there. I didn’t know what it was, and I wasn’t even sure if it was real. But then she said she felt it too, whatever it was that existed between us. I was a dark man set in his ways, but the moment she walked into my life, I completely changed- for the better. I didn’t know what that connection was even though I’d spent every day trying to figure it out.
