The Synopsis:

Sela Halstead lost her innocence in a way that no sixteen-year-old should ever have to endure. She’s spent years trying to forget that night even while wondering about the identities of the monsters who brutalized her—until a telltale tattoo flashes across Sela’s TV screen. The incriminating ink belongs to Jonathon Townsend, the millionaire founder of The Sugar Bowl, a website that matches rich older men with impressionable young women. Obsessed with revenge, Sela infiltrates Townsend’s world, only to come face-to-face with a tantalizing complication: Beckett North, his charismatic business partner.

The tech mastermind behind The Sugar Bowl, Beck always gets what he wants, in business and in bed. And yet, for a man who’s done every dirty thing imaginable, there’s something about the naïve, fresh-faced Sela that sparks his hottest fantasies. Because with her, it’s not just about sex. Beck opens up to her in ways he never has with other girls. So why does he get the feeling that she’s hiding something? In a world of pleasure and power, the shocking truth could turn them against each other—or bind them forever.

Note: Sugar Daddy ends on a cliffhanger. Sela and Beck’s story continues in Sugar Rush and Sugar Free!

My ‘Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review’ after reading ‘SUGAR DADDY’ by Sawyer Bennett:

“Sugar Daddy” is the first novel in the new “Sugar Bowl Series” by author Sawyer Bennett. This novel is highly emotional and intense in a dark, gritty way as well as having a flourishing romance that will draw you in. As far as genre, it is a Contemporary Romance story but also touches on powerful issues and situations as well. Sugar Daddy is written from the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views), Sela Halstead and Beckett “Beck” North.

At 26, Sela Halstead is working toward her master’s degree, and really doesn’t do serious relationships. There is a deeper, darker, more emotional reason for that. She can’t fully give herself to anyone because she’s been broken in such a way that she doesn’t know how to trust anyone fully because of it. When Sela sees the founder of “The Sugar Bowl” on T.V., she finds him to be very familiar. When her mind finally recognizes him, it triggers dark-buried images, she knows this well dressed guy. He is the disgusting person from her ugly memories that she thought for so long were only nightmares. No, they were haunting memories. And now that those painful memories have resurfaced, she sets her mind and the drive from her burning anger, to come up with a plan for vengeance against “The Sugar Bowl’s” owner Jonathon Townsend.

With months of determination and a goal in mind, Sela has changed up her look from blonde to brunette. She plans out the way she will take down J.T. to feed her craving for revenge for the ordeal and horrific nightmare she experienced. What she didn’t expect was to meet the other owner of “The Sugar Bowl,” Beck. He seems nothing like J.T. and that throws Sela off of her steps toward revenge, making it a challenge to do what her goal has been since entering the world of “The Sugar Bowl” disguised as a “Sugar Baby.” How will this work out for everyone involved?

Beckett “Beck” North is partners and long time friends with Jonathon “J.T.” Townsend, on the huge specialty dating service “The Sugar Bowl.” It’s been a successful business but J.T. has let the fame, money and power go to his head through his easy access to sexual hook-ups and the money flow from the business. Beck is tired of the way J.T. has treated some of the young females, “Sugar Babies,” in his sexual escapades. His focus has been on the business, that was until his eyes locked on the beautiful brunette across the room at one of their parties. Upon meeting Sela, his usual aloof look on any kind of relationship begins to slowly change. She begins to make him feel things and see things differently than he’s ever had with any other woman before. What Beck doesn’t know is that Sela has ulterior motives, that is until they both find themselves surprised by what may be growing between them.

Will Sela get the revenge that she seeks against J.T. or will Beck throw her plans off? Is Beck anything like J.T. or is he someone that Sela can trust with her deepest, darkest secret? And will Sela succeed in her goal to finish J.T. or will her heart lead her astray? This novel is the first in The Super Bowl Series and it is definitely a heavy read. The story is raw, intense, and in the scenes between Sela and Beck, the story is amazing and incredible. Their intensity pours out of the pages and it evokes genuine feelings of hope for these two characters.  J.T., on the other hand, is definitely a villain you will completely despise and hate. I highly recommend this novel, but with some warnings. Reader Warning: This dark and emotionally-charged story may be difficult for some readers or may be a trigger to some due to the sexual assault and self-harm mentioned in the novel. I’m absolutely looking forward to reading what’s to come from this series because I want to see how everything plays out for Sela and Beck and Sela’s revenge. Yes, it does end on a Cliffhanger but the two other novels of this trilogy series: “Sugar Rush” and “Sugar Free” will be out later in 2016. This is certainly worth reading! 🙂

MEMORABLE QUOTES & LINES FROM ‘SUGAR DADDY’

Sela’s thoughts:  I know what I’m doing is rash, probably not the most airtight of plans, but I can’t help it. I have rage and hate driving me forward. Even if I get caught and spend the rest of my life in prison, it will be better than living with myself having not done anything at all. Watch out, Mr. Townsend. Your time is almost up.

Sela’s thoughts:  I have no clue why it happened and why he was the one to do it, but clearly Beck North simply doesn’t have a problem pulling them from me. I’m not sure if he’s magic or just so damned dedicated to the cause, but it was effortless on his part. I’m betting he could probably just look at me a certain way and I might explode.

Beck’s thoughts:  I stayed purely vanilla with her too, and it makes me hard just thinking about some of the ways I could make her scream.
I have got to stop thinking about her.
It’s over.
Done.
She left.
No way to find her.
Except… that’s not true. I fucking created The Sugar Bowl website. If she’a Sugar Baby, with a few keystrokes I can access the database and have her house pinpointed in moments.

Sela and Beck:  “I think you’re the best thing to ever happen to me, and when you’re given a gift like that, the prospect of losing it can be a little consuming.”
“I’m not going anywhere and there’s not much you could do to push me away from you. You’re perfect as is and I’m insanely happy being with you, okay? Just don’t lie to me,” he says gruffly. “Don’t ever lie to me, don’t ever do anything to make me distrust you and everything is golden. Okay?”
My heart sinks.
Because I fully intend to keep lying to him until my quest is complete.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review’ after reading ‘WORTH IT ALL’ by Claudia Connor:

This is my honest review for the third novel of The McKinney Brothers Series, which is titled “Worth It All” by author Claudia Connor. This novel continues to deliver a wonderful new love story every time as we the readers are introduced more thoroughly to another McKinney brother. Those handsome, tough, yet lovable men in the McKinney clan continue to steal hearts and fill the list of dream-book-boyfriends. This one does not disappoint at all when it let’s us get to the know the youngest sibling, J.T. McKinney. The story is written in the two P.O.V.’s(point of views) of Jake “J.T.” McKinney and single-mother Paige Roberts.

Jake “J.T.” McKinney is as handsome as his brothers, with his dark hair and eyes. J.T. is the youngest brother who decided to move across the country. As the head engineer and one of the founders of a renowned and successful prosthetic company, he usually keeps busy with that. There is only one thing that he didn’t expect to draw his attention, and that was the beautiful blonde waitress at the nearby diner. He has reasons from his past as to why he isn’t interested in pursuing any kind of long-term relationship but he can’t shake his curiosity about the mysterious waitress.

Paige Roberts is a very hard working single-mother. She never has anytime for herself and focuses on her daughter Casey, working, and taking classes. When a very tall, dark and handsome regular customer begins a conversation with her daughter Casey at the diner, about their common prosthetic legs, there begins a battle for Paige. The battle to stay focused. It’s not so hard to do since her reason is Casey but Jake seems to make it easy to sometimes get lost in the “what if’s” for her daughter and herself.

For Paige, watching Jake be so easy-going with her daughter Casey, it wasn’t not hard to accept his offers of help for Casey’s prosthetic issues. Paige and Jake “J.T.” are both dealing with their pasts that have left them both cautious and hesitant on considering more beyond friendship. But with a connection that is hard to keep ignoring, Jake and Paige will have to decide how to deal with their growing feelings. Can Paige ever give herself a chance to try to have romance in her life? Will Jake “J.T.” ever find forgiveness for the guilt he feels for his past? The story-line was enjoyable and held a wondrous depth of emotion from the characters and their pasts. Great story, wonderful characters and worth recommending both this novel and this series. Check this out for an engaging romance! 🙂

MEMORABLE QUOTES & LINES FROM ‘WORTH IT ALL’

Paige’s thoughts on Jake:  He had a quiet, easy way about him. There was no swagger, he didn’t saunter- though looking like he did, he most definitely could have. Could have sauntered, sashayed, skipped, or even flown, and any woman in his vicinity would have fallen into his arms, their eyes glassing over.

Paige’s thoughts:  And all she could think was, More. More of his taste, his scent, his touch. In this moment there was nothing else to think about, nothing else to want except this man with his hands and mouth making her entire body hum with pleasure.

Jake/J.T.’s thoughts:  He’d never gone slow, never taken his time to explore a woman’s body. He’d never wanted to. Until Paige.
