The Synopsis:

Tristan Lopez is loyal to his brothers. He doesn’t really have a choice, born into a gang that has a chokehold on every kid that roams its streets. He gave his life to them willingly, knowing if he did then one day this kingdom, led by boys drunk with power and ruled by fear, would all be his.

He was loyal through it all. Loyal when prison took his dad away. Loyal when his face was touched by the cold metal of the rival gang’s gun. Loyal even though his mom begged him to run the moment she returned home from rehab.

He thought about becoming someone else. It was hard not to crave the life of a regular 17-year-old. It’s the only reason he stayed in school—to pretend. But he always fell back in line.

Riley Rojas didn’t belong in Tristan’s real world. She should have only been part of the fantasy, one of the many faces he got to pretend with amidst rows of metal chairs and desks and whiteboards with assignments. But there she was, moving boxes from the back of an old pick-up into a house Tristan had shot up on a dare with his friends only a few months before.

Tall enough to look him in the eyes and strong enough to fill his shadow, Riley took up space on his streets, her loud mouth fearless in the face of the gang leaders who terrified everyone else. She pushed Tristan around on the hard court, and she balled better than his friends—better than him sometimes. She challenged him. She needed him. He liked it. And when her pale blue eyes stared into his, he quit wanting to pretend.

He couldn’t ask her to leave because she’d only dig her heels in deeper. He couldn’t ask because he didn’t want her to go. She was blurring his lines. She was testing his loyalty.

He was falling in love.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review’ after reading ‘CRY BABY’ by Ginger Scott:

“Cry Baby” is the latest novel by author Ginger Scott. This story takes readers on a journey through the rougher “part of town” while letting us know things aren’t always what they seem. Even though the main male character, Tristan, is in a gang, he does not fit the stereotype of what a violent, heartless gangerbanger would be. Cry Baby offers emotional moments and a tragically beautiful story-line where you will hope ends right for these characters. But it’s not always the case. “Cry Baby” is written from the two P.O.V.’s (point of views) from Tristan Lopez and Riley Rojas.

Tristan Lopez has been a member of a gang in his neighborhood since he was about ten. Coming from the neighborhood he was born into, there wasn’t much choice. It was either the gang or possibly a short life. Dub Lewis, the leader of the gang, gave Tristan the nickname “Cry Baby” when he took him under his wing. Tristan’s dad was best friends with Dub and co-founder of the “Fifty-seven” gang, but he ended up getting locked up thanks to his bad choices and loyalty to gang life. The story continues when Tristan is seventeen and he is completely entrenched into the gang life with nothing else but the twisted sense of loyalty to the dangerous life guiding him.

Riley Rojas is new to the neighborhood. Her and her single father move in, but Riley is left with the responsibility of moving things in on her own since her dad has to work and her mom is gone. She comes across a guy walking by who looks to be around her same age. She asks him for help to move some of the heavier items on the back of her old pick up truck. His name is Tristan. He hesitantly helps her move the stuff, but that’s as far as the “Welcome to the neighborhood” goes.

Once they find themselves at the neighborhood basketball court, all bets are off. Tristan returns to his reality and Riley learns quick that his reality does not include welcoming the new girl who he thinks doesn’t belong there. Tristan must either choose to solely follow down his dark and destructive path or choose to take on a new responsibility at school. He finds himself struggling to keep up his loyalty to the gang and that could put him in danger. His best friend has yet to be accepted, and unfortunately, Tristan finds himself struggling to keep his best friend safe as things go from bad to worse.

If Tristan’s loyalty comes into question, this could mean trouble. Where will his loyalty lie: with his gang and Dubs, or to his new school responsibility that could help both him and and Riley? As the reader, you’ll want to root for Riley and Tristan as individuals, facing the hardest parts of their lives, but also you’ll root for their friendship or whatever they may share. I highly recommend this for those who can enjoy a young adult novel that gives you imperfect characters who are perfect together. Add this to your list and grab your copy. It’s worth the read! ❤

A Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review: EL PECADOR by M. ROBINSON.

Book Review! A Blogging Reader’s Review after reading ‘El Pecador’ (Saint-Sinner Series – Book #2) by M. Robinson.

Author: M. Robinson
Series: Saint-Sinner Series – Book #2
Publishing date: January 2018
(Review based on ARC-reading a copy of this novel)

The Synopsis for ‘El Pecador’ :

Book two of a two book series. El Santo (Book one) available now.

So here you are…
Turning the pages, opening the next chapters of my life—wanting to know the next truths of my sins. As if the first half of my life wasn’t enough.
You. Need. More.
You want my redemption.
My heart. My soul.
Your happily ever after…
You. Want. Answers.
And I will grant you the very first one you’re dying to know.

Why did I leave her?

So go ahead.
Turn the page.
I dare you.

You just might not like the answer.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading ‘EL PECADOR’:

“El Pecador” is the part 2 of the “El Santo” novel by author M. Robinson. This novel continues Amira and Damien’s story which is a dark romance with plenty of suspense to fill the need. This riveting story will give you the satisfaction you seek. There are moments that will make you think you know how it will go, and you’ll quickly be surprised by these dangerously exicting twists and turns. El Pecador is written from the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views) of Damien “El Santo” Montero and Amira.

Amira and Damien must take separate twisted, heartbreaking, and unpredictable paths in their lives. Damien finds himself taking a journey where he is faced with a need to find closure and a sense of peace in the midst of the madness of his life. He takes on a new lifestyle, in some ways, when you relocates to the U.S. In some ways the story makes a full circle, and in other ways, it gives these characters a fresh new start that makes his life unpredictable yet satisfying to the reader.

El Pecador is a riveting story about a man who is far from a saint and who has past he can never truly escape. Will Amira ever be back in Damien’s life or is their enthralling story over? This emotionally charged novel makes these characters deal with challenges they must face with and overcome no matter the consequences. Will they be able to overcome their pasts? Will they survive where their lives have taken them and the dangers that lurk? Who will die? And can love outshine even the darkest moments for these two lost souls? As a reader, you’ll get to see who they make peace with and what secrets are uncovered.

This story was filled with so many exciting twists and turns and left me feeling completely satisfied by the end. I adore how the story for Damien and Amira ends perfectly, but I also am thrilled with how the story sets things up in a little teasing way for M. Robinson’s next novel(standalone) called “Lost Boy.” I recommend this intense novel. Grab your copies of this 2 part series today!<3

The Synopsis:

My mom always said it was just something about the way he moved.

The same swagger Archie Valentine wore in the ring when he took his opponents down followed him like a halo everywhere he went. But make no mistake about it—he was no angel. He was like a drug. My mother was his addict.

I never understood it…how love could make you blind and convince you to drink the poison. Not until I met Memphis Delaney.

At first, it was the familiar form. He’s a fighter, built like a god from the past, the kind of man the universe doesn’t make anymore. His eyes hide a story, and every time I’m in his presence I want to keep reading him until I get to the end. And then…there’s the way he moves. His boxing is violent but beautiful, and his body is a seductive weapon. When he’s in the ring, he wears the stare of a man committed to the battle until his very last breath.

He could end me; turn me into her. Too much of him will leave me as a shadow, and I’ve lost so much of myself already.

But I have discipline. It came the hard way. Lessons learned, scars left behind, and trust stripped away from life.

I will breathe his air, but I won’t fall for a man like him. The only boxer who’s ever going to break my heart is the one who gave me my name.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review’ after reading ‘MEMPHIS’ by Ginger Scott:

“Memphis” is an exciting new book by the amazing author Ginger Scott. In this story, there’s definitely so much more to a name. This is more than just a boxing story, it’s a story about life and learning to find hope in the midst of everything meant to tear you down. “Memphis” is written from the two P.O.V.’s (point of views) from Olivia “Liv” Valentine and Memphis.

In the boxing world, the name Valentine inspired many, intimidated other boxers but there was one person who knew the truth behind the name. She never admired the name or the people associated with it, her parents. Especially since everything the outside world knew about the Valentine’s was all make believe. For Liv Valentine, her childhood was lonely and her parents were dysfunctional in their own ways.

Olivia “Liv” Valentine has a mother who roped in Liv’s father when he had a rising and incredible boxing career. The loving and protective father he conveyed toward outsiders was not how Liv remembered it. When she’s forced to return home to the place she fled as soon as she was old enough to do so, she must face her past, the truth of her present, and a questionable future. But what she did not expect was Memphis.

An up-and-coming boxer who simply goes by the name of Memphis, trains at Archie Valentine’s gym under the watchful eye of Liv’s Uncle Leo. He seems to have the heart and drive to go far. Liv’s mom and uncle can both see it and are waiting to cash in on it. But Liv slowly begins to see that there’s more to the man with the heart for boxing. After being burned in her last relationship and knowing the history between her parents, she tries hard to stay away from Memphis.

Can Liv stay away from Memphis or is she destined to follow the destructive footsteps of her cold mother and her ex-boxer father? How will Liv deal with the painful truths about how ruthless her family truly may be? Will Memphis ever find out more about his past? This novel is an incredible story about endurance, overcoming difficult challenges and finding hope when everything around you is fighting hard to destroy it for you. Liv and Memphis have so much that could tear them apart but once you learn about their characters, you can’t help but root for them till the final bell rings. I highly recommend this impressive story simply titled “Memphis.” Grab your copy today! ❤

A Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review: FINAL FIGHT by J.B. Salsbury.

The Synopsis for ‘The Final Fight’:

When life brings you the perfect person at the worst possible time…

On a weekend visit to Las Vegas to visit his brother, Marine Braeden Daniels meets a woman who challenges him in ways he can’t deny. The best part is she wants what he wants.

No strings. No feelings. Just fun.

AJ is a Las Vegas performer who is finally living her dream. Growing up poor, she’s determined to succeed at any cost. No one will stand in her way—not even a hot Marine who breezes into her life all confidence and a cocky smile.

A few stolen weekends and neither can deny the feelings quickly growing between them. But the obstacles that keep them apart become more devastating when the Marine Corps calls Braeden away for a six-month deployment.

It’s only six months.

What could possibly happen?

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading ‘The Final Fight’ (Fighting Series – Book #7):

***WARNING: Possible SPOILERS if you haven’t read the previous Novels of the Fighting Series.***

This is my review for the final installment of the Fighting Series titled “Final Fight” by the amazing author J. B. Salsbury. This entire series is a fascinating blend of emotional depth, complex and inspiring characters, enticing and captivating story-lines. This series ends nicely and continues to be one of my absolute favorite series’ even though it’s finally met its bittersweet conclusion! “Final Fight” is written in the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views) from Adeline “A.J.” Pines and Braeden “Brae” Daniels.

Adeline “A.J.” Pines has big dreams of becoming an entertainer in Las Vegas and living a lavish life. For now, she must settle for a smaller role in a show and bar-tending part-time. Dating is the last thing on her mind and it remained true until handsome Marine Braeden walks into her life. She also did not expect finding out that there’s more to her usually cold and aloof rich boss Mr. Andre Monroe.

Braeden Matthew Daniels is the younger brother of UFL fighter Blake “The Snake” Daniels who lives in Las Vegas. When Brae visits his brother, he finds himself killing a little free time at a local casino where he first meets A.J. Yes, she’s beautiful and there’s an alluring quality to her but Brae has always kept things simple; no strings and just have a good time. As a Marine, he never felt the need to try to have a relationship since it would always come second to his duty. He never expected that a fun weekend could possibly blossom into something more, despite the challenges of distance and duty.

The Final Fight is such a gripping and mind blowing story that just hooks you and holds you from start to finish. The emotions that these characters stir because of their growing feelings toward each other and the hurdles and heartbreaks they have to overcome, it’s riveting. Will A.J. and Brae be able to keep their relationship simple? How will they deal with being six-months apart? And how will Mr. Andre Monroe, A.J.’s rich boss, factor into her life that seems to be growing more complicated as the months pass? I highly recommend “Final Fight” and the entire Fighting Series because the story-line is emotionally enthralling and the characters never all flat and stay interesting. The entire series delivers this same depth. It’s bittersweet that this is the final novel of the Fighting Series but all great things must eventually come to an end. Check this one out for sure! ❤

The Synopsis for ‘El Santo’ :

I didn’t know darkness and evil lurked inside me until I had to murder in order to survive. Forced to become my own worst enemy. With so much blood on my hands, I was surprised I could still see my own skin.
I killed.
I tortured.
I loved…
I played God while I was rotting in Hell. Thriving on control and power was the only way I knew how to live. There were no other options.
If you weren’t my friend, you were my foe.
If you weren’t with me, you were against me.
Traitors, as I called them. There were no imaginary lines. I’d crossed them all. No boundaries. No second chances. No redemption.
Not for me.
For them.
For anyone.
Only for her…
She loved me. Always convinced I was a saint, never believing I was just another sinner.
A fucking monster.

Until it was too late.

Except, I didn’t choose this life. It. Chose. Me.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading ‘EL SANTO’:

“El Santo” is the latest novel by the talented author M. Robinson. The first novel I read from this author was El Diablo and that was a mind-blowing read! It was perfection! This novel falls into the same realm and intensity as that one. This novel is definitely a dark romance with a great dose of suspense. The fascinating and emotional roller-coaster these characters must struggle through and live with is both entrancing and riveting. This is definitely a page turner! Once you start, you just can’t stop. Amira and Damien’s story is just beginning and left me with an ache in my heart for both characters while still holding onto a glimmer of hope. It’s all the intensity that a great novel should deliver and then some. El Santo is written from the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views) of Damien Montero and Amira.

Damien was raised by his father, who was a close follower of a Cuban dictator by the name of Emilio Salazar. Damien admired and strived to follow in Emilio’s footsteps. When he comes face-to-face with the truth, about how his father and Emilio truly lived, he was also faced with a soul changing moment that would completely shape his life. One day would change everything he believed and knew and he’d end up needing to protect someone he was supposed to have completely destroyed.

Amira was a young child, clenching to her doll Yuly, as she witnessed the most tragic and horrifying losses in her young life. That night changed the course of her life when an unexpected person gives her the much needed safety and security she needed. Feeling so alone, she’s left at the mercy of strangers and a person she would’ve never thought would become more to her than she could’ve ever imagined.

As the story progresses, we witness the growth of Amira and her growing connection to her protectors, the only family she has in life now. All the while, Damian continuous to work for the brutal dictator Emilio Salazar while becoming a lethal killer. He’s lived two separate lives, keeping them both safely apart for as long as he possibly could. It worked, until they both began to bleed into one another despite his efforts to stop it.

Sometimes, the one thing you want and need to most in life, you have to let it go to keep it safe from destruction. “El Santo” is a truly heartpounding and emotionally charged story about Amira and Damien and their struggles with survival, taking risks, a bond that becomes hard to ignore and doing everything they can to not give into what hearts desire most. I highly recommend “El Santo” to those who love a riveting story filled with dark romance, action and for readers who don’t mind a little intensity and a complex story-line. Reader Warning: There is some violence and sexual content. Heads up, it does end on a slight cliff-hanger BUT book 2 will be so worth the short wait, which is titled “El Pecador” and will conclude Damien and Amira’s story. It will be out in early-January 2018! Read this one! It’s absolutely worth it! If you’ve read “El Diablo”, this one gives the same style of explosively awesome raw depth. Get your copy today! ❤

How I imagined Damien Montero “El Santo” and Amira while reading ‘EL SANTO’:

Damien’s thoughts: My story is going to make you fucking hate me as much as she does, but I want you to. I’m no looking for redemption. I’m not looking for your forgiveness. I don’t deserve it like I don’t deserve hers.

Damien’s thoughts: I felt the demons that would eternally haunt me. Torment me until the day I died, until I took my last breath. I didn’t walk through the valley of the shadow of death that night…
I would now fucking live there.

Amira’s thoughts:  It was then that another reality came crashing down on me.
I. Was. Wrong.
So very wrong…
The monster hadn’t left, he was standing right in front of me. Pulling the trigger.
Ending it all…

Amari’s thoughts:  I believed him when he said I was safe in his care, which was why I didn’t want him to go. I didn’t want to be a scared little girl, taking on this new world alone.
In a way, he was all I had left.

Damien to Amira: “I’m sorry, Muñeca. For the past, for now, for the future… for everything.”

Amira to Damien: “You don’t want me to be happy. All you want is for me to burn in the darkness with you. Well, I can’t do that anymore.”

Damien to his father:  “I protect what’s fucking mine. Nothing is going to happen to her and if someone – anyone – so much as tries, I won’t hesitate to pull the fucking trigger.”

Damien to Rosario:  “One day soon, I won’t be the man who saved her. I’ll just be another fucking monster that haunts her dreams.”

Amira’s thoughts:  He was the beginning to my end or maybe it was the end to my beginning.
It didn’t matter because he was my home too.
He would always be home to me.

Damien’s thoughts:  I’ve told you from the beginning of my story that I was nothing but a fucking monster. At least now, you can’t call me a liar….

My ‘Blogging Readers ARC-Review’ after reading ‘SICK FUX’:

Ellis Earnshaw is a beautiful young blonde haired girl who adores the story her mother introduced her to: Alice in Wonderland. Her childhood best friend Eddie lives next door but that changes quickly when she meets Heathen, the broody boy who wears all black and likes to kill insects. From there they form an unusual friendship that overshadows everyone else in their lives. Ellis, her father, his six business partners who Ellis calls her uncles and her nanny Mrs. Jenkins, all reside at the Earnshaw Estate. She has no idea that the house she calls her home carries many horrible secrets.

Heathen James is sent to live with his father who is the groundskeeper at the Earnshaw Estate. Despite his eerie obsession with watching things die, he instantly captures the attention of sweet and friendly Ellis. He experienced what most would call a traumatic event as a young child but all it did was help mold the darkness within him. He’s never had anyone show interest in him until Ellis but he has no idea that something darker exists within the Earnshaw Estate.

Heathen becomes obsessed with Ellis just as much as Ellis grows to adore Heathen. Their lives and close friendship would be sent down a dark rabbit hole in the most twisted, dark and disturbing way. Innocence would be tarnished and darkness would be inescapable. Will they find their way back to each other or will the twists and turns of their lives keep them apart? Will justice be served?

“Sick Fux” is an extremely dark, gritty and heartbreaking journey that Ellis and Heathen must face. *Reader Warning: This is not for the faint of heart and it touches on very heavy and taboo topics. I highly recommend this if you don’t mind a very dark romance that isn’t your usual type of romance story. Hearts don’t always just beat, they sometimes bleed for the ones they love. Amazingly heartbreaking and unique story. Worth checking out if you can handle it! ❤
