The Synopsis for ‘Becoming A Jett Girl’ (via: Goodreads) :

How did I start the Lafayette Club?

Well, I’m in the business of saving tarnished souls. I hand pick girls from the street who have no options left in life and give them an opportunity they can’t possibly refuse.

They come to work in the Lafayette Club which is full of EXQUISITE DEBAUCHERY, where influential men come to conduct business and lap dances are considered a fine art.

The girls are trained, they are morphed, they are educated, they follow the rules of the club and they know to submit to me. They live by my motto, no relationships, no love, just sex.

They are never touched, only by me, they are never completely naked, only with me, and their personas are entirely anonymous. The only person who knows who they truly are, is me, Jett Colby.

If these girls were ever seen on the streets of New Orleans, you would never know they were a Jett Girl.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading ‘BECOMING A JETT GIRL (The Bourbon Series book #1)’:

Author Meghan Quinn never lets her readers down when it comes to expecting an entertaining story, well-written characters and a novel that you just can’t put down.  This novel is titled ‘Jett Girl’ and is the first novel of ‘The Bourbon Series’. I enjoyed reading and reviewing ‘Jett Girl’  because it was a fun read thanks to the perfect blend of erotic moments, fun sarcasm and the storyline does not leaves you feeling gypped or rushed.  In this novel, you’ll read the story through the dual P.O.V.’s(point of views) of Goldie and Jett Colby.

We are first introduced to Goldie, a young beautiful petite-female with chestnut hair, azure colored eyes and curves in the places men drool over. She who works at a pretty seedy adult entertainment club by the name of ‘Kitten’s Castle’ as a waitress to make ends meet.  Her parents were lost one tragic day and since then she’s never really had many close relationships other than her one close friend Lyla, who works with her.  Sex appeal and beauty helps pay the bills most of the time but with that, also comes the touchy perverts. This has been her lifestyle while living in a shared apartment with Lyla in the historical French Quarter of New Orleans.  She’s offered a once in a lifetime opportunity that would change her world upside down, if she accepts the offer that is.

Next, there is Kace. Oh yes, Kace is definitely a character that had me sometimes feeling torn between him and Jett.  He’s described as sexy and suave, with dark short hair, blue eyes and a tall muscular body that makes women hot and bothered.  He is Jett’s best friend and definitely is one of those supporting characters that you hope becomes the main focus in one of the future novels of this series.  I enjoyed the dynamics of the story between Goldie and Kace.  His character comes across as someone who could be the best friend to have and a scary enemy to cross, thanks to his skills.  Loved that about him.

And then there is Jett Colby.  Jett is handsome and sexy with clean cut and nicely styled dirty blonde hair, tall in height, very fit and has deep blue eyes.  He’s best friends with Kace and the owner of Lafayette Club, where rich men go to handle business deals and afterwards, can unwind with the pricey, classy and sexy entertainment.  He keeps a certain discreet order in his club.  The women who reside and entertain there follow certain rules and in trade, Jett offers them comforts they never knew, an education and a lifestyle far better than wherever he found them.  The agreement between Jett and Jett’s girls is that they must all submit to him. No relationship, just sex, consensual and erotic sex.

The story is great and kept me wanting to see what was next.  I literally could not put it down.  ‘Jett Girl’ is a steamy read, that’s for sure but there is so much more to it.  You’ll get some suspense, funny dialogue that especially comes from Goldie and the story succeeded in entertaining me from start to finish.  There is no cliffhanger but you can tell that a few things are left open-ended, which makes me know I can expect more from the next novel of this series.  I highly recommend this novel. I can not wait to see what is in store for the characters of ‘The Bourbon Series’.  Very enjoyable!

Reader Warning: The story is contains sexual content, sexual-language at times and mature situations.  Recommended only for readers – ages 18+.

Lyla to Goldie:  “You got to work it, bitch, if you want to get the hell out of here, so stop complaining and put your garter belt on.  We have some willing customers out there with some fat wallets.”

Goldie’s thoughts:  I’ve spent the last nine years of my life trying to climb back from the hole that Hurricane Katrina put in it and it hasn’t been easy, especially since I have no degree and no job experience.

Goldie’s thoughts:  When I opened the door, I was socked in the nose with the scent of money…that was the only way to describe the smell of Rex Titan…money.

Jett’s thoughts:  The Bourbon Room was the only room the girls were allowed to be in on my floor and only when invited.  Other than that, they were not allowed anywhere near the third floor.  It was my sanctuary, my place to look over my club and the place where I conducted all of my business.

Goldie and Kace: “I’m not going anywhere until you tell me your name.”
The man got off the stairs and came to me with his hand extended.
“I’m Kace Haywood.”
I took his hand in mine and said,”It’s nice to meet you Kace. Now, was that so hard?”

Jett’s thoughts:  She was going to be trouble with the members and I was prepared to throw out every member of the club who even tried to touch her.  She was only there for them to look at and, if I were honest, I didn’t even want that.

Jett to Lo: “…it will pleasure me the first time I get to taste you.  Your body is not for my pleasure.  Your body is for your pleasure.”

Jett to Lo:  ‘There will be a lot of men watching you, checking your body out and wanting to touch you.  Remember, you are mine and no other man is allowed to lay a hand on you.  The minute someone does, you tell me.  I will be around and keeping an eye on you, my little one.’

Kace and Lo: …”there are a lot of dangerous men out there tonight. I will keep an eye on you,
but if anyone tries anything, you let me know immediately.”
I nodded my head as I tried to tamp down the feelings Kace stirred inside of me.
His breath caressed my shoulder as he looked me over one last time,
sending a bolt of desire through my body.
“You look…” he cleared his throat and continued,”You look beautiful, Lo.”

Goldie’s thoughts on Rex and Jett:  Rex Titan owned my body at one point and it was pretty much impossible so say no to him, just like it was impossible to say no to the man who was currently staring daggers at me as I stood up on the podium.

Jett’s thoughts:  I would give her tonight and then I would move on.  I had to; I had a business to run, I had my fucking heart to protect.  As I leaned down and kissed her delectable lips I thought, maybe I would give her tonight and tomorrow morning as well;  it was too hard to just quit Goldie cold turkey.  I had to ease her out of my system.

Goldie’s thoughts:  I hated myself for not being able to put up much of a fight, even though I knew he would never give me what I wanted.

One Night In Buenos Aires by Amanda K. Byrne

The Synopsis for ‘One Night In Buenos Aires’:

As a reward for a hard-won contract, best friends Drea and Joe head to Buenos Aires for sun, wine, and the tango. But their week of relaxation is off to an ominous start when a reservation mix-up leaves them with only one option: one room…and one bed.

Exhausted from travel, the two friends figure it won’t be a big deal to share a bed for one night—right up until they wake wrapped around each other and seconds away from, well, you know.

When the two decide to follow through on their impulse, they protect their friendship by agreeing that when the vacation’s over, the fling’s over. While Drea’s convinced it’s nothing more than a mutual itch, Joe discovers Drea might be everything he’s ever wanted. Now all he has to do is convince her that what happens in Buenos Aires doesn’t always have to stay in Buenos Aires.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading  an ARC-Early Copy of ‘ONE NIGHT IN BUENOS AIRES’:

I was given an ARC early-copy of ‘One Night In Buenos Aires’ by author Amanda K. Byrne, in exchange for an honest and true review.  This a sweet romantic story about two friends and co-workers, who go on vacation together to celebrate success at work. They’ve never dated but have made a close relationship through the years.  Something happens on this trip, causing Drea and Joe to look at each other in a whole new light after being stuck sharing the one and only available hotel room. You’ll be reading the story in the two P.O.V.’s(point of views) of the main characters, Drea and Joe.

Drea recently got out of a relationship that had fizzled long before it ended.  She’d always took her time when it came to getting close to a man and building a relationship.  This vacation was meant to be filled with relaxation, site-seeing and hanging out with her close-friend Joe.  He was tall with a thinner build than most men she was attracted too but he wasn’t unattractive.  She just never considered anything with him, until the unexpected sleeping arrangements on their vacation.

Drea’s co-worker and close friend, Joe, has always had a type when it came to the women he’s dated.  They were usually tall, thin and willowy, unlike his petite, curvy close-friend, Drea.  Past relationships have failed since he’d never been good at relationships or sharing his feelings.  He’s never had to lie about his feelings and faults when it came to Drea and now that they were forced to share a room and a bed, it made him take a closer and better look at his long time friend.

They have seen the people they’ve dated in the past and have been there for each other after the breakups. Drea and Joe had never flirted with each other or felt the need to pursue anything that would risk their friendship with each other.  On this vacation, their reservation mix-up at the hotel causes them to stay in the only available hotel room together.  A hotel room with one king size bed.  When new urges and feelings develop, they are stuck wondering if they should take a risk and enjoy themselves fully.  They agree to approach this new strong-attraction with the idea that ‘What happens in Beunos Aires, stays in Buenos Aires.’

This story was a sweet and delightful read.  I would say it was definitely a quick read but still enjoyable with its easygoing storyline.  The love story seemed believable but my only small-issue was how Drea kept having yo-yo feelings, which came across as a tiny-bit annoying but yet understandable since everything happened quickly to her.  Other than that minuscule issue, this was actually a nice story.  If you’re looking for a quick-romance story to read, this is something for you to check out.

How I imagined Drea and Joe while reading ‘One Night In Buenos Aires’:

1 collage 1

Drea thoughts:  Just because she was having a lonely moment didn’t mean she needed to indulge in something that would make things awkward between them.  His friendship meant far more to her than pursuing some vague urge.

Joe’s thoughts:  He’d always had a strict rule about not dating anyone he worked with, so from the moment he’d met her five years ago, she’d immediately fallen into the coworker category.  Sure, that had changed over time, as the two of them continued to work, and work well, together.  Drinks.  Lunches.  Double dates.

Nell’s thoughts:  She should enjoy the moment.  It wasn’t going to last, anyway.  Not with the way she looked.  Too many curves, not enough straight lines.

Felix to Nell:  There had to be some way to do this, because he wanted more.  He wanted it all.  Wanted to know what she tasted like all over, wanted to run his hands over her curves.  It was overriding the part of him whispering she might walk out of his life forever if he screwed this up.  God knew he could screw up.

Drea and Joe: “Promise me one thing.”
“Promise me no matter what happens, you’ll try to stay my friend. This ends, this turns out to be a colossal mistake, we both make an effort to get things back to the way they were before.”

The Latest News (July 14th, 2014):

Hey #VAfamily: The latest on #Frostbite
from VAMPIRE ACADEMY Producers!
They have just announced that they need help Fans.
#WeNeedVAFrostbite2015 (Thoughts?)
Here’s their post:

Our affiliate, Vampire Academy Twitter page @VAfandomUSA, is planning a Twitter Trend this Saturday, July 19th, 2014!  Come join them for one or both of their trends set for that day.  They made it Time Zone Friendly by having 2 trends on Saturday(Sunday in some Time Zones.).  Here is their Promo Tag! Share and Join them to show Producers that the #VAfamily (Fans) are ready to support Frostbite 100%!  #WeNeedVAFrostbite2015

Recently on the Official Vampire Academy Movie Facebook Page, producers posted information regarding the strong chance of the possible sequel ‘FROSTBITE’ of the Vampire Academy Series, becoming a film adaptation.

This is what was shared (June 27th, 2014):

VA tag 11

Wouldn’t it be great to finally get to meet Adrian and Eddie?  That can only happen with a sequel.  The story just completely develops so much more in the (2nd book) sequel and begins to show the darker side of the series, so let’s make it happen!  Let’s give them a chance to try again.  Let us show support for those trying to give us the chance to get the #VAMOVIE Sequel: FROSTBITE.  Remember, the more united we are with our support, giving film-makers a second chance, the better this could actually be.   The only way any of this will happen, is with the support and understanding of the fans and VAmovie-makers. Period.

There are trends and ideas being set up through out the #VAfamily/#VAmovie fandoms.  Make sure to join in and become active again to show that they fandom is still thriving, strong and alive!  Let’s make it happen. (

Nothing has been confirmed or guaranteed… yet, but according to that post above, chances are looking better.  It seems that the Vampire Academy fandom is being beckoned to become active on Facebook and Twitter again.  Producers are simply asking for the #VAmovie fandom ‘#VAfamily’, to show that they have not given up the fight for Frostbite to be adapted.

Word about the possibility of ‘Frostbite’ has taken some time, fans have either waited patiently or grew anxious, but films always take a while when you are waiting for word about them.  The producers behind the VA movie have called upon fans once again to rally together and to get active for the sake of a sequel.  Some fans have shared their concerns and frustrations .

But I can understand the perspective of producers too.  They have to see the proof that there will be enough support for the film before they can take the risk of making it happen, in order to put the manpower and funds behind the project. They want to make sure it will show more than little promise of turning a profit and will have a real chance at becoming a decent hit.

The first film ‘Vampire Academy’ had a sub-par sales-outcome in the box office, causing a ripple effect with other distributors in other countries, who didn’t give the #VAmovie a chance to show in their theaters.  Many have shared their opinions on ‘WHY’ it didn’t do better:

1. promotional trailers that didn’t convey #VA correctly.
2. the film didn’t capture the essence of the story correctly(too comical).
3. People didn’t give it a chance, because they thought it was a teeny-bopper vampire movie(trailers).
4. Then, there were the terrible reviews by what some have called ‘bitter-reviewers/critics’ who didn’t get a free screening of the film before release day, causing them to have to watch it with the general public.

We’d love to see promo trailers show more of the true dark sides of the story from the start so potential audiences can get the true feel of the VA sequel: FROSTBITE. *Hint: Learn from the 1st film’s trailer mistakes.*
►►We loved these guys but… Maybe try a new screenwriter and/or director. (Like some of those creative minds behind ‘Arrow’ or ‘Agents Of Shield’)  -but don’t get us wrong, the screenwriter did a great job at keeping VA close to the story!  But, it might be better to start fresh. 🙂
►►►Find where the VAMovie fell short & learn from it.  Make the sequel (hoping for one) better, by strengthening the weak spots of its predecessor film. Please know that fans + movie-lovers will appreciate the action and dark moments as much as being drawn into the romance in the story.  And know that the VAfamily (Vampire Academy Fans) has your back & will support it! 🙂

Now that it’s all been said and done.  Let’s try again.  That’s all any true fan can ask for and hope to see happen.  Learn from past mistakes, try again. Make it bigger and better this time around.

Our affiliate Twitter page that is strictly VAMPIRE ACADEMY related: , has stayed active through out the good times, the bad times and the slow times.  Make sure to follow them on the latest information about all things VAMPIRE ACADEMY + FROSTBITE related.

How We Deal With Gravity by Ginger Scott

When her son Max was diagnosed with autism, Avery Abbot’s life changed forever. Her husband left, and her own dreams became a distant fantasy—always second to fighting never-ending battles to make sure Max was given opportunity, love and respect. Finding someone to fight along her side wasn’t even on her list, and she’d come to terms with the fact that she could never be her own priority again.

But a familiar face walking into her life in the form of 25-year-old Mason Street had Avery’s heart waging a war within. Mason was a failure. When he left his hometown five years ago, he was never coming back—it was only a matter of time before his records hit the billboard charts. Women, booze and rock-n-roll—that was it for him. But it seemed fate had a different plan in mind, and with a dropped record contract, little money and nowhere to go, Mason turned to the only family that ever made him feel home.

Avery loved Mason silently for years—until he broke her heart…completely. But time and life have a funny way of changing people, and sometimes second chances are there for a reason. Could this one save them both?

My ‘ARC-Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading ‘HOW WE DEAL WITH GRAVITY’:

Thank you to Author Ginger Scott for offering me the opportunity to read and review an ARC-early copy of your latest upcoming novel ‘How We Deal With Gravity’.  The story follows a young single mother who has been raising her autistic son on her own, with the support and help of her father and best friend. And we also meet her former crush, who left town to pursue his music career but ends up finding himself back in his hometown when things don’t go so well on the road.  The story is told through the two P.O.V.’s(point of views) of Avery and Mason.

Avery ‘Birdie’ Abbot is the single mother of smart, unique and autistic son Max.  She has learned to handle the challenges in life that she has been given and has made the best of it all.  Her husband abandoned Avery and Max when he was diagnosed with autism because he could not handle the responsibility.  Avery works at ‘Dusty’s Bar’ that her father Ray owns.  Everyday for Avery is planned out with very little change in order to make things easier on her son.  Then he came back to town… stirring old memories of the boy who use to stay in her home and was her first big crush (possible first love). Only problem, he never even seemed to really take notice of her and the only few times he did, were to nickname her ‘Birdie’ and another time that scarred her.  She had no idea that one day, that same guy would return to Cave Creek, Arizona and bring so many changes to the planned out life she had already become so adapted to.  And in turn, would also revive feelings in her that she never thought she’d feel for any man, again.

Mason Street began writing, singing and making music on his guitar since he was in his wild teenage years.  The band he was a part of signed deal and were on the road soon after high school.  Life seemed great except Mason and his band mates began to sour from the deal after performing at dive bars and actual studio time was no where in sight. They were soon partying hard and eventually dropped from their deal and ended up back where it all began, Cave Creek.  Now, with little money and a slap by reality, Mason returns to ‘Dusty’s Bar’ owned by the man who first believed in his talent and became like a father to him. Ray welcomes Mason back and invites him to stay with him since he really didn’t want to stay at his mom’s place because of their rocky history.  Mason never noticed the daughter of his role model much before but now they are both adults and life has a way of making us take notice of the things that were there all along.

‘How We Deal With Gravity’ is a touching and wonderful story about second chances, finding love and learning to find strength through the challenges in life.  I commend Ginger Scott for sharing this great story with readers, bringing autism to the forefront next to the love story, in such a gingerly way.  : )  Much respect to those who raise beautiful autistic children like Avery in this story, you deserve a great amount of applause.  I do recommend this endearing novel because of the fantastic storyline and inspiring characters.  Ginger Scott, you’ve done your magic again.

Avery’s thoughts:  Max has a hard time focusing on things he doesn’t want to do.  In fact, lately, unless it has to do with the moon or the stars or how the earth rotates, it doesn’t have a place in Max’s world.  But Claire’s managed to find ways around the distractions.

Avery’s thoughts:  -I’m nowhere near the girl I was at eighteen.  That girl was hopeful and innocent.  That girl didn’t have a little boy who depended on her for everything -a little boy who she wasn’t sure would be able to survive kindergarten, let alone this world.

Avery’s thoughts on her best friend Claire:  Claire has given up her social life over the last three years just to help me get through school.  Sadly she’s the husband Adam never was, and I wish like hell I could tell her to live her life, set her free.  But I can’t, because some days she’s the only thing holding me together.  And Max -oh, Max -he responds to her more than anyone else.

Avery’s thoughts:  I used to stare at those hands in high school, when he’d sit up there on that stage and strum his guitar for hours at a time.  I had goddamned fantasies about those hands, but I learned to hate them pretty quick.

Mason’s thoughts on Avery:  She used to sit in the hall when I sat on the spare bed and played a song.  She’d never come all the way into the room – too nervous.  But she would sit there, with her skinny legs folded up into her chest, hugging them to her body.  She was good at school – student council, honor society… shit like that.  I scraped by.

Mason’s thoughts:  This guitar has always been home.  As soon as I touch the strings, I’m gone -there’s this melody I’ve been trying to work out for weeks.  I haven’t written in months, but this one phrase seems to keep repeating every time I play.  There’s something wrong with it, but I just can’t seem to work it out.  It’s kind of like my life.

Avery’s thoughts on Mason:  Watching him play, the way he loves that instrument, the way his brown eyes shut and his lips whisper small phrases, ideas for lyrics.  That’s the reason women love musicians -it’s all right there in Mason’s hands, his eyes, his lips.  Mason is the perfect package… on the outside.  I could almost forget everything watching him now.

Mason:  “This one’s ‘Wild Horses’.”   When her tray falls, my heart speeds up.  I know I’m in trouble.  But I’ve been in trouble before.  I love trouble.  So I start to play, and when I sing, I keep my eyes on her the entire time, just waiting for the moment she turns around.  She never does.  But she doesn’t move from her spot, either, and I think maybe she’s in trouble too.

Avery’s thoughts:  Mason Street is going to crush me -he’s going to rip open my heart… again.  He’s going to completely destroy me, unless I can stand here and convince myself that my heart isn’t pounding out of my goddamned chest just listening to his perfect voice.

Avery’s thoughts:  Max is always telling me about gravity, and how it pulls two masses together.  Gravity.  That’s what I’m feeling right now.

Avery and Mason:  “Mason, I want this. I want you…”-(Avery)
“God, I want you to want me. And I think a part of you does… and maybe a month ago… hell, a couple of weeks ago? Yeah, that would have been fine. I would have taken the sign, and torn the rest of your clothes away to take you completely… not giving a damn about what it meant tomorrow. But here’s the thing. I kinda give a shit about what this means tomorrow, Avery.”-(Mason)

Ray(Avery’s dad) to Avery:  …don’t give up on your own happiness just because you’re afraid it’s too damn hard to have.  Because Ave, you only get to have right now once in your life -there are no re-dos, there is no going back and doing right now again.  You get this once, and you can take a chance on it, or live regretting you didn’t.

Mason’s thoughts:  In the last two months I’ve built this file of memories, and it’s all wrapped up in the Abbot family -they’re my family.

Kenderson, I was very intrigued to see how the story unfolded after having read the synopsis for it.  I’ve read many vampire related novels before and was honestly hoping for a nice twist to ‘vampires’ and not the usual same-old ‘traditional vampire’ story.  I’m excited to let readers know that this story is not the traditional vampire story and has many entertaining facets. For those like me, who enjoy multiple P.O.V.’s(point of views) while reading a story, you’ll like this. There are nine P.O.V.’s throughout the novel, which include: Naya, Vaughn, Arianna, Kenzie,  Payton, Damien, Celeste, Dwyer and a mystery ‘Shifter’ enemy.

Princess Anaya ‘Naya’ Kensington, is not your typical royalty.  She lives in St. Paul, Minnesota and is set to become Queen, once her parents step down and will lead the vampire species.  She has chocolate dark brown hair, violet colored-eyes and is beautiful with unique features.  Naya lives her life at night, sleeps in the day and only feeds from female family vampires when hunger comes. She’s decided to continue to follow her parent’s wishes for her but she still tries to do a few things of her very own.  She volunteers at an animal shelter and when she can, she goes out with her human best friend Kenzie that she met at college.

One night, Naya decides to take a risk and go out to the new human nightclub, Club Pulse with Kenzie.  Kenzie is a free spirit, the opposite of Naya’s usually reserved personality.  Once there, Kenzie begins flirting, while Naya just people-watches.  Quickly, the night begins to turn into something else.  Naya’s keen vampire senses, can feel that someone is watching her.  She can’t find her watcher but she feels him there, somewhere in the club.  Naya has no idea how much she does not know about what exists in the world around her, thanks to how much her royal parents have sheltered her.  But on this night, her life will be changed after a chance encounter and deciding to satisfy her need to try something different.

Vaughn Llewelyn could be described as one very hot, tall, dark haired, blue-eyed, man with a sexy defined body that would make most women melt.  The only thing about Vaughn, is that he lives in a world where he must keep certain secrets about himself from others.  He has never gotten close with any females beyond satisfying his sexual needs. That was the case until meeting her. One night of temptation, pleasure and forbidden desires, a bond is made.  Vaughn expected it to only be a one-night-stand with someone that he knew he should’ve never had.  But something about her made him want to be protective of her, pull her close and make her his.  Even if it is only for one night, he wasn’t about to deny what he wanted and needed no matter.  By giving in, his life will be altered beyond his wildest expectations.

To add to the entertaining storyline of ‘Forbidden Blood’, there happens to be other species called ‘Shifters’ walking around beyond the vampires and humans. But they are not only what you would suspect.  They’ve all lived separately but only the leaders seem to be aware of each existing species.  Since not everyone is aware of the existence of certain species’, issues occur that will change the worlds of everyone involved and those around them. To top it off, there is someone or something out there, trying to cause more mayhem while seeking their vengeance.  What will Naya do with the drastic changes in her life and can she juggle her duties as future Queen? Can Vaughn share his secret with the one he feels an overwhelming need to protect and love? Who isn’t safe and who can be trusted?

This story is definitely full of twists and engaging characters. If you love a story with entertaining Alpha-males, you’ll enjoy this story. It’s very sexy and keeps you interested in finding out what will come next.  I do recommend this debut novel from this new series.  There is a conclusion to an important part of the story but there are questions left unanswered in preparation for the next novels in the ‘Forbidden Series.’  I will definitely be looking forward to the future novels of this series.  Great debut novel series Ranae and Lara! 🙂

Reader Warning: The story contains sexual content, sexual-language at times and mature situations.  Recommended for readers – ages 18+.

How I imagined the characters while reading ‘FORBIDDEN BLOOD’:

1 collage 2

Naya’s thoughts:  She wished she could meet a nice male of her choice, fall in love, and have children like any other twenty-something woman.  Instead, she would mate with the male her parents would soon choose for her.  Her mating would be devoid of passion, and any children she bore would be out of duty, not love.

Naya’s thoughts:  He consumed her mouth with his slick, hot kiss, turning her on and causing her core to clench.  This was a male marking his territory.

Naya’s thoughts:  Something about Vaughn made him seem much more than human.  Upon first impression, she’d thought he wasn’t human, but she knew he wasn’t a vampire, so that made him the most magnificent human…

Vaughn’s thoughts:  Mine, he thought.  He closed his lids and quieted.  He hadn’t realized he’d shown his possessiveness, but the idea of her being with anyone else made him angry and jealous.  When he’d thought about it before, it was just a future possibility.  Now, it was a reality glaring him in the face, and he didn’t like it.

Emerson:  “I like knowing that my blood is in your body.”
He brought her thumb to his mouth. He cut the pad on his fang and drew it into his mouth. He looked her in the eyes as he sucked, and the sensation between her legs became stronger. He ran his tongue over the cut and released her.
“And now, yours is in mine.”

Sawyer to Brent:  “That’s right.  She carries my scent, but she’s not some piece of ass.  She belongs to me.  So, if you ever speak to her that way again, I will make sure you are kicked out of the Pride.  I don’t care whose kid you are.”

Unknown Enemy’s thoughts:  No, he couldn’t risk losing his chance to be alpha.  He had to kill all of Vance Llewelyn’s family, including the vamp -all except for Lilith.  Once Vance was gone, he would make the alphena his.

Damien’s thoughts about Payton:  He’d been watching over her for the last week, and he still couldn’t believe this was the same thirteen-year-old from ten years ago.  He remembered her being skinny and flat-chested with braces back then.  Sure, she’d been a cute kid, but now…shit, she was a beautiful woman.

Naya’s thoughts:  She knew Vaughn and his family would be all over this,
but she couldn’t just sit back and do nothing.  She grabbed her phone and made a call she never thought she would have to make.  She silently thanked her parents for making her program this number into every phone she’d ever owned.
She knew the ones on the other end wouldn’t give up until everyone was home safe.
The phone was answered on the first ring. “Guardians.”
“This is Princess Anaya. I need your help.”

Perfect Kind Of Trouble by Chelsea Fine

The Synopsis:

Sometimes when perfect falls apart, a little trouble fixes everything . . .

Twenty-one-year-old Kayla Turner has lost everything. After spending most of her life taking care of her ailing mother, she just wants to spot a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. So when her late father-a man she barely knew-leaves her an inheritance, she finally breathes a sigh of relief . . . until she learns the inheritance comes with strings. Strings in the form of handsome playboy Daren Ackwood, her father’s protégé. To see any of her inheritance, she’s forced to team up with him. From his expensive car to those sexy dimples, Kayla’s seen his type before. But Daren isn’t who he seems to be . . .

Struggling to make amends for his family’s mistakes, Daren has a life more Oliver Twist than Richie Rich these days. He’s beyond grateful that James Turner included him in his will, but working with Turner’s princess of a daughter to fulfill his cryptic last wish is making Daren wonder if being broke is really so bad. Still, she’s just as beautiful as she is stubborn, and the more time he spends with Kayla, the less it feels right being without her. Soon Daren and Kayla begin to wonder if maybe the best gift Kayla’s dad could have left them . . . was each other.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading ‘PERFECT KIND OF TROUBLE (Finding Fate Series book #2)’:

I was given the chance to read and review an ARC early-copy of ‘Perfect Kind Of Love’ by Author Chelsea Fine.  This story is a New Adult novel in the Contemporary Romance genre.  I’ll admit that I have yet to read the first novel in ‘Finding Fate Series’ but I was still looking forward to reviewing the latest novel, since I had not read any work yet by Chelsea Fine before.  The story is written in the two main-character’s P.O.V.’s, Kayla Turner and Daren Ackwood.

Kayla Turner has been estranged for many years from her father, ever since moving away with her mother to Chicago, leaving behind the small town of Copper Springs, Arizona.  Kayla had always been told by her mother, Gia, that her father abandoned them and stopped giving them money which left them struggling.  Because of this, Kayla became resentful of the father that she once loved and thought loved her.  During this time, Kayla learns that her mother has a problem and it is slowly killing her.  On top of that, her mother has a debt that falls into Kayla’s lap when her mother is incapable of paying it back.

Kayla is notified that the father she hasn’t seen in years, has passed away.  She is dealing with so many emotions and on top of that, she has the debt that her mother left her with, that she has no idea of how she will pay back.  Leaving Chicago, she heads back to the small town where her father called home, to attend her father’s funeral.  She doesn’t expect anything but after meeting with her father’s attorney and hearing the reading of his Will, things go in a whole new direction for her.  Upon her return to Copper Springs, she discovers that lies were told and things that she had always believed, may not have been the whole true story.

When Daren Ackwood first heard about the passing of James Turner, he felt sad and a little angry.  He never knew that Mr. Turner was even ill  to the extent that it would take his life so soon.  Then he spots her.  Kayla Turner has come to her father’s funeral.  Daren sees her as a brat, who never gave time to her father except to live off of the trust fund he set up for her.  Daren saw James Turner as a role model, mentor and even cared for him like a father, thanks to the fact that James took Daren under his wing since the age of thirteen.  When Daren is notified that he must attend the reading of James Turner’s Will,  he comes face to face with Kayla and an adventure begins with a partner he never thought he’d have to be linked to in order to complete the wishes of James Turner’s Will.

This story was a fun, entertaining, contemporary romance.  I enjoyed the idea behind the story and the way everything blended together. I really like the cover, very sexy and nice! It was a good read, the characters were likeable and written, and the story flowed with its simple but pleasant storyline.  If you’re looking for an easy-going romance novel to read, then this one is for you.

How I imagined the characters while reading ‘PERFECT KIND OF TROUBLE’:

Kayla’s thoughts:  The heels of my black pumps slowly sink into the soft grass as I stare down at the last I’ll ever see of James Turner.  I try to muster up some sort of sadness, but all I come up with is more anger.  With a long inhale, I toss a soft white rose petal onto the brown and red dirt, and quietly say, “Rest in peace, daddy.”

Daren’s thoughts:  She used to visit her dad in the summer, so every once in a while I’d catch glimpses of her inside the house while I was out mowing the lawn.  And there are some faces you just don’t forget.  Back then, she was all elbows and knees and freckles.  But damn if Kayla Turner didn’t grow up to be a total knockout.  There wasn’t a breathing soul in the cemetery today that didn’t openly gape at her.

Kayla’s thoughts:  According to Lana, and every other girl at Copper Springs High, Daren was some kind of god in bed.  I doubt any of the things she told me were true, but they certainly gave Daren quite the reputation.  Regardless of the rumors, I know his type.  They charm and seduce and leave a trail of broken hearts in their wake.  I have no intentions of being a left-behind heart.  Not for Daren or anyone else.

Daren’s thoughts:  There’s a difference between the whimper of a woman who’s just having fun and the sound of a woman starving for pleasure.  And Kayla Turner needs to be pleased.  Badly.  But not by me, apparently.  She probably thinks she’s too good for me.  And in reality, she is.  But the truth still stings.

Kayla’s thoughts:  Daren has been nonstop interesting -and absolute trouble, just like I thought.  But it was the kind of trouble I needed to feel alive.  It shook me up.  It woke me up.  It was the perfect kind of trouble.  I glance in the mirror at the beautiful boy in the backseat.  And I want to be in it all over again.

James Turner:  ‘Because money without love is complete poverty.  And poverty with love, well that’s pure wealth.’
