“Broken Prince” by author Erin Watt is the second intriguing novel of The Royals Series. This novel falls into the genre mix of mature Young Adult and is a New Adult novel with a fantastic blend of contemporary romance, drama, and some suspense to draw a reader into the story-line. This series continues to pull readers into the twisted-turmoil involving The Royal’s family members, their newest family addition-Ella, and the other questionable people in their lives. Broken Prince is written from two main characters’ P.O.V.’s(point of views), Reed Royal and Ella Harper.

Ella Harper is gone. After finding the Royal family member she had come to trust most, in a compromising situation, she couldn’t stay any longer. The one thing Ella will come to know very well as this intense novel series continues is that she can run but she can’t hide from The Royals. Ella has known the hard life, and the struggle that The Royals aren’t familiar with but now that she’s entangled into their world, she discovers that they have their own dark and twisted problems to deal with. And she finds herself right in the middle of it all. Will Ella learn to accept the Royal treatment or will she be burned by the darker parts of their privileged lifestyle?

The Royal brothers Reed, Easton, Gideon, Sawyer, and Sebastian have been in charge when it comes to their peers but since Ella left, things have fallen apart. Reed doesn’t seem to care and most of his brothers blame him for the way things have began to crumble. But not everything is as it seems. Was the one they didn’t want around going to be the one to hold them together? With new secrets threatening to destroy them and completely change their family, their father Callum Royal will be led to believe lies in order to keep peace in their household. The entertaining thing about The Royal Series is that not everyone is as naive as they are believed to be and not all secrets stay secret.

Will Reed get the chance to get Ella to forgive him? Will Ella prefer to stay gone or will she accept the new life with The Royals? What secrets will be exposed and which will be the biggest secret discovered? Ella Harper is a strong-willed survivor, in the sense that she faces challenges and struggles but never allows them to bring her down. Then you have Reed Royal who is attractive, at times intimidating, and can be very protective of family and those closest to him. Each character brings something to the story and adds value in their own individual ways. Reed and the other Royal brothers are protective of their family and its reputation. Despite that, they are fun to read about because of their entertaining personalities.

I definitely recommend Broken Prince and The Royal Series for readers who enjoy a story that has a great dose of drama and delivers on the deep dynamics surrounding certain love interests and family situations. This novel ends on a cliffhanger for a couple of issues in the story but it’s all worth it since this is a very exciting series! The wait for the follow-up will not be too long since the third novel in The Royal Series “Twisted Palace” will be out in a few short months. This is worth checking out. Add this to your TBR List today! 🙂

Reed’s thoughts:  We told each other lies. We lied to ourselves because neither of us was willing to admit the truth- we couldn’t resist each other. At least that’s the way it was for me. From the moment she walked in the door, all big eyes and guarded hope, I couldn’t keep away.

Easton and Reed:  “You’ve been walking around like she’s nothing to you. Maybe you’re made of stone, but I like Ella. She- she was good for us.” His grief is almost tangible.
“I know.” The words are wrenched out of me. “I know, goddammit.” My throat tightens to the point of pain. “But… we weren’t good for her.”

Ella’s thoughts:  Anywhere I went, he’d be there. He’d hunt me for the rest of my life, because, as he reminded me, he owed it to my father. I don’t owe Steve O’Halloran a thing. I don’t owe Callum Royal, either. But I also don’t want to be looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life. Callum doesn’t bluff- he would never stop hunting me if I ran again.

“The Hard Count” is a lovely stand-alone novel by author Ginger Scott. The story-line is a coming-of-age story with wonderful characters that each have charisma and bring something intriguing to the novel. This story is a part of the Young Adult genre with a nice mix of sports aspects and contemporary romance to it. “The Hard Count” is written from the two main characters’ P.O.V.’s(point of views) which are Nicolas “Nico” Medina and Reagan Prescott.

Nico Medina grew up in a part of town where traditions exist, neighbors know each other well, but it also became a place where danger lurks sometimes around the corner. Nico would not allow himself to give up and give in to what his older brother Vincent became a part of for a while. It wasn’t easy but he knew it was not what he wanted in life. So for now, he’d keep his head down, not draw attention to himself, and try to survive in a place where stray bullets could find you at any given moment in the East End side of town. Now with the potential to have a promising future in a shool 11-miles away, can he do more than what’s expected for someone that comes from a tough part of town? Will Nico be able to keep away from the trouble or will it find him one way or another? And what secret burdens, weight and talent does Nico hide?

Reagan Prescott is the twin sister to a quarterback brother, the daughter of the school’s football coach and a socialite mother. As she works on making good grades, making her documentary meant to help get her into her dream school, and getting through the trials of high school, she has one person who makes the ride bumpy. His name is Nico. He debates her, he is arrogant and he’s not afraid to show his dislike for Reagan. As Reagan learns more about Nico, she begins to realize that not everything or everyone is what they seem to be. Will Reagan’s life change for the better or fall apart due to unforeseen challenges?

This story is such an enjoyable, compelling, and entertaining read about growing up, potentially finding someone special, and of course the great game of football! Author Ginger Scott always finds a way to intertwine beautiful romance with an enthralling blend of sports entertainment. I recommend “The Hard Count” for readers who can enjoy a wonderful story that shines hope on sometimes difficult situations such as this story that brings to light issues involving a some race issues as well as title/reputation issues. Very fascinating! Check this one out indeed! 🙂

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading ‘DEEP REDEMPTION’ (Hades Hangmen Series book #4):

“Deep Redemption” is the forth installment of the Hades Hangmen Series by Author Tillie Cole. I will try to keep my review of this beautifully-raw novel as bare as possible, just to make sure not to spoil this amazing story for other readers. It is truly filled with dark and twisted occurrences as well as dynamic and heart-capturing moments. This has been the novel in the Hades Hangmen Series that I’ve been most anxious to read and review. This follows former Hangmen MC brother “Rider’s” story after he returned to his commune under the cult’s given-name for him: “Cain.”  The hatred between these two completely different lifestyles is intense, that of the motorcycle club and the secluded religious cult, both based on the outskirts of Austin, Texas. The MC seeks its moment to get vengeance on the cult for all they’ve done toward the former cult women who have now stolen the hearts of some of the leaders in the MC. The story is told in three character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views): former MC brother Rider now known as “Prophet Cain”, Harmony… and The Hangmen MC’s President Styx “River.”

Cain was sent in to infiltrate, become a part of the dark world of the Hades Hangmen MC, and eventually collect enough information about them to destroy them from within. Prophet Cain went by the name of “Rider” in the MC. Cain’s infiltration began five years ago, when he became “Rider” of the Hangmen MC, growing to become a trusted brother. But now, he returned to the world he was born into, betraying his MC brothers. He was chosen to become leader of his people after Prophet David died but many of his views had changed no matter how much he tried to fight it. He changed. Upon learning of the twisted practices at the New Zion Commune, he couldn’t take it and those around him including his twin brother Judah saw him as a defector. He finds himself locked away by the one person he thought was his closest and truest brother, his twin Judah. Cain “Rider’s” internal battle begins. Will be give in to the traditions of his people or has the outside world of “sinners” become a part of himself that he can’t escape? And what is the huge secret about “Prophet Cain” that the commune is unaware about with their new leader?

Harmony grew up hidden away in a small commune in Puerto Rico. As Prophet Cain asked for all members to close their far away communes and move to New Zion, she finds herself newly branded by a title that means she’s evil and sinful in the eyes of all of the members in their cult. With her Prophet’s idea of fate, he sees Harmony as the salvation that their people need in a time when he feeds them his prophetic warning: that the end of days is near. Harmony has no choice but to follow that fate regardless of her own hesitations and disgust for what seems to be the inevitable. Will she be doomed to what their Prophetic leader deems as her future or is there a way to change what is sure to kill her inside, both in body and soul? Who is the person who brings her peace next door to her? And what will Harmony do once she finds out that lies have been told that could change her entire existence and the people of the New Zion forever?

The hatred and hunger for vengeance between the cult at the commune and the Hades Hangmen MC, is boiling over. What will happen? Will anyone come out of this unscathed and who will survive this? This extremely intense, riveting, and dark series continues with such a gripping story-line. The raw emotional journey that many of these characters must face will keep you on the edge of your seat, hoping that things work out for them. Cain “Rider” is a character with many imperfections, he went from so likeable to really hated, which brings us to this novel. Can he be forgiven and redeemed? Harmony is a strong female character that comes from a cult that seems to like to break the women down within the commune. I highly recommend this novel but I do warn that it is a heavy read. Reader Warning: It touches on sensitive topics such as abuse, sexual assault and some brutal violence. Author Tillie Cole continues to deliver with such a breath-taking and heart-wrenching story. It’s truly an amazing series still!  This is a must read! ❤

“Defending Taylor” is the first novel that I’ve had the opportunity to read from author Miranda Kenneally. This novel is definitely a coming-of-age story and delivers on many charming aspects within the story-line. It falls into the genres of young adult and contemporary romance with a nice measure of sports. “Defending Taylor” is written from the main female character’s P.O.V.(point of view), Taylor “Tee” Lukens.

After a bad incident at St. Andrews Academy,  Taylor “Tee” Lukens has no choice but to move to a public school near her parents. She broke up with her boyfriend Ben, must say goodbye to her old friends and has to start new at Hundred Oaks High school. Her one bad choice was starting to snowball into a life changer. Her main concern was ruining her GPA and not being able to go to Yale. As soon as Taylor begins at her new school, she realizes that her mistake may follow her here. And to top it off the one boy that she crushed on for most of her Adolescent and teenage years decides to show up into her life again.

Taylor comes face-to-face with Ezra Carmichael, her older brother Oliver’s best friend, the one who unknowingly stole her heart and broke it. Just seeing him again reminds Taylor of the day he broke her heart at her sixteenth birthday party. Did she still have feelings for Ezra? What secret is Ezra hiding?

With the huge secret that Taylor is hiding from those she cares about most, is she risking her father’s career as well as her relationship with Ezra? Will she ever be happy at her new school Hundred Oaks or will her past continue to cause her drama? “Defending Taylor” is an entertaining and enjoyable story about a young girl making one mistake that affects her life and those she loves, in a big way. It’s also about finding herself, finding love, and figuring out how to grow from an error in judgment. I recommend this if you’re looking for a decently satisfying novel with appealing characters. Check this out if it piques your interest. 🙂

‘Healing Eden’ is the second novel of the Eden Series and continues to blossom into an intricate and enchanting story-line. This novel falls into the Paranormal and Fantasy genres and delivers more than just those aspects. This novel has been written in the multiple character P.O.V.’s(point of views) from Reese Theron, Galena Shantos, Eryx Shantos, and Maxis Steysis.

Reese Theron once trained and fought alongside the Myren kind, to protect and serve under the king/Malran but then he found himself fighting alongside the Lomos rebels. He was now viewed as a traitor and a defector. Very few know his true background and who his brother is. When he comes across a beautiful woman that he remembers from before he turned his back on the Myrens, Galena, he feels a pull toward her that he can’t explain. Will he ever get the chance to be with her or is his betrayal going to be his doom?

Galena Shantos tried to heal as many as she could on the night of the battle between the Myren and the rebels, but so many have died. She had no idea that someone else was watching her until he came out of hiding. When the man watching her gets attacked, for some strange reason she feels the urge to protect and heal this man named Reese. The only problem is that he is a fighter from the enemy side. Galena finds herself torn between loyalty to her family and loyalty to the feelings that her heart won’t allow her to deny.

Maxis Steysis will do whatever it takes to destroy the Myrens, bring down their king Eryx, and rule with his Lomos rebellion set on enslaving humans. He has a connection with Reese Theron as he had with the Phybe, and Maxis hopes to use it to kill his stratego Reese but he’s been captured by his enemy. Will Maxis bring down the Myren kind? What will Reese do and who will he show his personal loyalty to? Will Galena effect his views or will he always remain tied to Maxis after betraying Ramsey and the Myren?

Will Eryx, the leader(malran) of the Myren, help find Lexi’s(his malress) imprisoned human friend Ian before it’s too late? And what questions will arise and be answered involving many of the characters tied to their world? From chapter to chapter, the intriguing story-line will draw you in with its entertaining display of  of exciting and sexy twist-and-turns into the world of the Myrens and those out to either destroy them or love them. I do recommend this enjoyable novel and definitely this incredible series. It is worth checking out and adding it to your TBR list! 🙂
