My ‘Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review’ after reading ‘BROKEN PRINCE’ by Erin Watt:

***WARNING: Possible SPOILERS if you haven’t read the previous Novel of The Royals Series.***

“Broken Prince” by author Erin Watt is the second intriguing novel of The Royals Series. This novel falls into the genre mix of mature Young Adult and is a New Adult novel with a fantastic blend of contemporary romance, drama, and some suspense to draw a reader into the story-line. This series continues to pull readers into the twisted-turmoil involving The Royal’s family members, their newest family addition-Ella, and the other questionable people in their lives. Broken Prince is written from two main characters’ P.O.V.’s(point of views), Reed Royal and Ella Harper.

Ella Harper is gone. After finding the Royal family member she had come to trust most, in a compromising situation, she couldn’t stay any longer. The one thing Ella will come to know very well as this intense novel series continues is that she can run but she can’t hide from The Royals. Ella has known the hard life, and the struggle that The Royals aren’t familiar with but now that she’s entangled into their world, she discovers that they have their own dark and twisted problems to deal with. And she finds herself right in the middle of it all. Will Ella learn to accept the Royal treatment or will she be burned by the darker parts of their privileged lifestyle?

The Royal brothers Reed, Easton, Gideon, Sawyer, and Sebastian have been in charge when it comes to their peers but since Ella left, things have fallen apart. Reed doesn’t seem to care and most of his brothers blame him for the way things have began to crumble. But not everything is as it seems. Was the one they didn’t want around going to be the one to hold them together? With new secrets threatening to destroy them and completely change their family, their father Callum Royal will be led to believe lies in order to keep peace in their household. The entertaining thing about The Royal Series is that not everyone is as naive as they are believed to be and not all secrets stay secret.

Will Reed get the chance to get Ella to forgive him? Will Ella prefer to stay gone or will she accept the new life with The Royals? What secrets will be exposed and which will be the biggest secret discovered? Ella Harper is a strong-willed survivor, in the sense that she faces challenges and struggles but never allows them to bring her down. Then you have Reed Royal who is attractive, at times intimidating, and can be very protective of family and those closest to him. Each character brings something to the story and adds value in their own individual ways. Reed and the other Royal brothers are protective of their family and its reputation. Despite that, they are fun to read about because of their entertaining personalities.

I definitely recommend Broken Prince and The Royal Series for readers who enjoy a story that has a great dose of drama and delivers on the deep dynamics surrounding certain love interests and family situations. This novel ends on a cliffhanger for a couple of issues in the story but it’s all worth it since this is a very exciting series! The wait for the follow-up will not be too long since the third novel in The Royal Series “Twisted Palace” will be out in a few short months. This is worth checking out. Add this to your TBR List today! 🙂

MEMORABLE QUOTES & LINES FROM ‘BROKEN PRINCE’

Reed’s thoughts:  We told each other lies. We lied to ourselves because neither of us was willing to admit the truth- we couldn’t resist each other. At least that’s the way it was for me. From the moment she walked in the door, all big eyes and guarded hope, I couldn’t keep away.

Easton and Reed:  “You’ve been walking around like she’s nothing to you. Maybe you’re made of stone, but I like Ella. She- she was good for us.” His grief is almost tangible.
“I know.” The words are wrenched out of me. “I know, goddammit.” My throat tightens to the point of pain. “But… we weren’t good for her.”

Ella’s thoughts:  Anywhere I went, he’d be there. He’d hunt me for the rest of my life, because, as he reminded me, he owed it to my father. I don’t owe Steve O’Halloran a thing. I don’t owe Callum Royal, either. But I also don’t want to be looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life. Callum doesn’t bluff- he would never stop hunting me if I ran again.

Reed and Easton:  “Do you love her?” I ask hoarsely.
His head whirls toward me. “No.”
“You sure about that?”
“I don’t. Not the way you do.”
I relax, just slightly. “Still. You care about her.”
Of course he does. We all do, because that girl flew into our house like a whirlwind and made everything come alive again. She brought steel and fire. She made us laugh again. She gave us a purpose- at first, it was us uniting against her. Then it turned into us standing beside her. Protecting her. Loving her.

Reed and Ella:  “I’ll do anything. Tell me what you need.”
“You. Just you. It’s always been you.”
She kisses me. Her lips press softly against mine, sealing the promise she’s made to me. That she’s mind and always has been. From before we even met, she was mine and I was hers. I fought it too long, but I’m giving in now. I’m all in now.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review’ after reading ‘PAPER PRINCESS’ by Erin Watt:

“Paper Princess” is a dynamic novel filled with drama, sexy characters, and emotional highs and lows. This novel is the first of “The Royals Series” by author Erin Watt. Paper Princess walks the thin line between being a mature Young Adult and New Adult novel due to it’s intense dialogue, actions from the characters and the emotional roller-coaster ride their lives go on. This is also a Contemporary Romance story with some interesting turmoil between The Royals’ family members, the people in their lives, and their newest addition: Ella. Paper Princess is written solely from one main character’s P.O.V.(point of view), Ella.

Ella Harper has never known the royal treatment of anything in life since she grew up with a mother struggling with personal-dark-issues and never had much money. After tragedy hits her life, Ella chooses to pick up the pieces on her own. She makes choices to survive, no matter the possible consequences of those choices. When it seems she’s destined to follow in her mother’s foot-steps in some aspects of her life, someone surprisingly enters into her life.

Unbeknownst to Ella, a rich man named Callum Royal comes forward claiming to be her guardian and offers a mind-blowing deal. Soon after, Ella is introduced to a whole new lifestyle of the privileged, stuck-up, and the deceptive. Callum introduces Ella to his five sons who instantly seem to dislike her from the start while giving her a hard time as she struggles to adapt to this new change in her life. She learns a huge part of her history and where she comes from.

There is one brother in the Royal family in particular who seems to really take the lead in causing Ella so many problems in her new life. His name is Reed Royal. He’s dangerously attractive, intimidating, sexy as sin, and seems to run the school they attend. As Ella moves in, she quickly realizes that her rich peers love their high school drama. Unfortunately, she seems to be the main focus in most of the latest drama and rumors going around.

“Paper Princess” has many emotional twists and turns that will entertain you, piss you off, make you feel happy butterflies in your tummy, and may even break your heart. The characters were all awesome in their own ways. The main female character Ella is a strong-willed, street smart, savvy young lady and her imperfections just make her more real, relate-able, and likable. Reed and the other Royal brothers are protective of their family and its reputation. Despite that, they are fun to read about because of the wide-range in their personalities.

So, will Ella be able to adapt to her new lifestyle after having such a different social upbringing or will she be scared-away from this new life? Will the Royal brothers ever accept Ella into their world? And why is Reed the hardest on Ella? What will Ella learn about her past? This was a riveting, enticing, and all-together an enthralling read. I definitely recommend this for readers who enjoy a story that has some major drama, touches on some deep topics, and delves into the beginning of what looks to be a wild new series! Please Note: This touches on an attempted sexual-assault. Also, even though it does end on a cliffhanger, you should check this one out, it’s worth the read! The wait for the follow-up will not be long at all. I’m excited to get my hands on the second installment “Broken Prince” coming out very soon! 🙂

MEMORABLE QUOTES & LINES FROM ‘PAPER PRINCESS’

Ella’s thoughts:  A chill runs through me. He’s the one to worry about. He’s the one I need to watch out for. And he’s the only one who tilts his head toward me in a calculated slant. As our gazes lock, my heart beats a little bit faster. Out of fear. Maybe under different circumstances, my heart would be pounding for another reason. Because he’s gorgeous. They all are.

Ella and Reed:  “All I want to do is make it to college.”
“And take a chunk of Royal money with you?”
“Maybe with a few Royal hearts in my pocket, too,” I say sweetly.
“You’re playing a dangerous game,” he rasps out.
“I don’t know any other way to play it.”
That bit of truth stuns him and I slip away.

Ella and Easton:  “Kiss me like you mean it,”I tell him.
His eyes darken and his tongue pokes out to run across his lower lip and it’s sexy as hell.
My gaze flicks over to Reed, who hasn’t stopped glowering. “Kiss me,”I repeat.
He lowers his head and whispers, “It doesn’t matter that you’re pretending I’m Reed. I’m pretending you’re someone else, too.”

Ella’s thoughts:  The apple is dangling in front of me, juicy red and delicious, but, like the fairy tale, Reed Royal is the villain disguised as a pretty prince. Taking a bite out of him would be a huge mistake.

Reed and Ella:  “I’m mad at myself. I did this. Well, Easton and I. I brought this on you. I’m Reed the Destroyer.” He sounds sad. “Didn’t you know that?”
“I don’t like that name.”
“Yeah, and what would you call me instead?”
I open my mouth and say, “Mine.”
