The Synopsis:

Stolen by the Arziani Georgian crime mob as a child, 152 was raised and conditioned to be a Mona—the most subservient of the Arziani Blood Pit slaves.

Gorgeous and kind, she has been and under the imprisoning influence of the Type B drug and under the command of the Blood Pit Master’s sister, Mistress Arziani, for most of her life, until the Master calls her back home to Georgia.

He wants her under his total control, and Master always gets what he wants.

But when 152 is gifted to the Blood Pit’s fearsome champion death match fighter as a prize, 152 suddenly finds out that the men who appear most brutal, may just own the kindest hearts. And love may be found, even when living in hell.

Freedom, family, love, 152 will have to fight for what she wants and ultimately make an impossible choice.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review’ after reading ‘RIOT’:

***WARNING: Possible SPOILERS if you haven’t read the previous Novels of the Scarred Souls Series.***

“Riot” is the forth novel in the Scarred Souls Series by the amazing Author Tillie Cole. This novel delivers emotional depth, a riveting story-line, enthralling characters, and everything we love most about this series. Riot is told from three main character’s P.O.V’s (Point of views) which belong to 152, 901, and Luka.

She is only known as 152. Most of her past is a mystery, her present is questionable, and her future is uncertain especially now that she’s become the “Mona” to a ruthless and dangerous man they call Master. Small flashes of memories surface in 152’s mind but still she can’t piece together where she’s from or who she really is. All she can do as try to survive the dark life that she is forced to live. Will her life always be controlled by the hands of the sadistic Master? Will she be able to survive this empty and painful life or is there more to her story?

901 is Master’s winning fighter. He brings violence, pain, and death to everyone who enters The Blood Pit to face off with him. 901 knows he holds a little control as the Master’s prized fighter but he never gives Master what he wants, which is to draw out the fights so they last long enough to be entertaining. Master must give his possession that is obsessed with to his prized money-maker to make sure his evil Kingdom stays strong. The evil Master never expected what comes next. Will 901 be able to resist the threat Master sends his way? Can 901 survive the ultimate fight of his life?

Luka Tolstoi was known as “818” and fought till the death, once upon a time. Now, his life consists of family and the love of his life, his pregnant wife Kisa. He has become a leader and close friend, practically brothers, with Zaal and Valentin who also knew the life in the gulag and the dark underground world they escaped. Between the three, they must come up with the greatest plan to rescue Valentin’s sister from that underground world and destroy that world once and for all. It won’t be easy. It will actually be very dangerous and difficult, but they are family and this family will do anything they can for each other. When faced with the mission ahead, Luka as well as Zaal and Valentin might just have to revive their inner beasts in order to bring down the Master, once and for all. Will Luka be able to turn on the beast inside without losing himself to it completely? Will their plan work or are they destined to fall?

In the final installment of the Scarred Souls Series, we get to know two more beautiful, broken, and scarred souls simply known by the numbers that were given to dehumanize them.  We still get to hear from Luka, Kisa, Talia, Zaal, Zoya, and Valentin from the previous novels of the series. Valentin is determined to rescue his sister from the evil imprisonment that he and the other two former fighters escaped from. In order to rescue his sister they must come up with a plan. On top of that they all want to put an end to that twisted underground world and bring down Master once and for all. I highly recommend this novel and this series! It’s so dark and twisted, but the raw emotional journey these characters take make you crave to see them rise above the life they were forced to live for so long and defeat that darkness. You should definitely read this one asap! It’s so worth it!

**Content Warning**: Dark Contemporary Romance. Contains explicit sexual situations, excessive violence, offensive language and mature topics. Recommended for age 18 years and up.

The Synopsis:

They say everyone’s a superhero to someone. I’m not sure who I’m supposed to save, but I know who saved me.

We were kids. His name was Christopher. And up until the day he pulled me from death’s grip, he was nothing more than a boy I felt sorry for. In a blink of an eye, he became the only person who made me feel safe.

And then he disappeared.

Now I’m seventeen. I’m not a kid anymore. I haven’t been for years. While death didn’t take me that day, the things that happened left me with scars—the kind that robbed me of everything I once loved and drove me into darkness. But more than anything else, that day—and every day since—has taken away my desire to dream.

I wasn’t going to have hope. I wouldn’t let myself wish. Those things—they weren’t for girls like me. That’s what I believed…until the new boy.

He’s nothing like the old boy. He’s taller and older. His hair is longer, and his body is lean—strong and ready for anything. I don’t feel sorry for him. And sometimes, I hate him. He challenges me. From the moment I first saw him standing there on the baseball field, he pushed me—his eyes constantly questioning, doubting…daring. Still, something about him—it feels…familiar.

He says his name is Wes. But I can’t help but feel like he’s someone else. Someone from my past. Someone who’s come back to save me.

This time, though, he’s too late. Josselyn Winters, the girl he once knew, is gone. I am the threat; I am my worst enemy. And he can’t save me from myself.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review’ after reading ‘A BOY LIKE YOU’ by Ginger Scott:

A Boy Like You is the latest novel by the amazing author Ginger Scott. Ginger said that this novel was a little different than her previous work and I have to say she has struck gold with this one. Once I completed reading this, one thought came to mind: Mind blown! This novel is a part of the Young Adult genre and is a Contemporary Romance but honestly, this story goes beyond those general genres with its amazing delivery. A Boy Like You is written from the main character’s P.O.V.(Point of view), Josselyn “Joss” Winters.

Josselyn Winters lived a normal childhood full of fun memories with her best friend Taryn. It started off as a normal day hosting fun races with her friends Taryn and Kyle, their fellow classmates, and even the weird-quiet kid Christopher. Her world of normal was all shattered one day when she hears her parents arguing in their room. It rips Josselyn’s world apart. When a terrible ordeal puts Josselyn in danger, an unexpected hero rescues her from what could have become a tragedy. But as quickly as he becomes her safety he just as quickly disappears.

Josselyn, now 17, isn’t the same girl she was 8 years ago. She’s a great shortstop softball player and tends to make risky choices from time to time. She has a broken and terrible relationship with her father. She meets some guys at the nearby baseball field with her best friend Taryn and it ends up being a fun meet up. Joss and Taryn’s interests are piqued when they find out that the three guys will be attending their school this year. One boy in particular draws Josselyn’s interest the most. He’s quiet, confident, and Josselyn can’t help her attraction to this new enigma named Wes Stokes.

For Joss, there’s something very intriguing about the new guy Wes. And there is something strangely familiar about him as she gets to know him better. He reminds her of someone she used to know a long time ago. While Joss tends to make dangerous and risky choices, Wes quickly tries to get her to stop making so many risky choices but Joss is stubborn. Even so, Wes has a way of getting Joss to think twice. As Joss and Wes grow closer, she can’t help but notice and begin to question strange occurrences when it comes to Wes. After something happens flipping all of their lives upside down and shattering their normal existences, where will this lead their lives? Will Josselyn be able handle all of these overwhelming changes?

As a reviewer who’s always adored Ginger Scott’s great stories, I have to say that this one really sent me on an extremely intense and emotional journey. I was overwhelmed, consumed, and completely captured by this riveting novel and the fierce and love-able characters. Just when the reader thinks they’ve reached their HEA, you realize there is so much more that remains in Joss and Wes’s story. I absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, highly recommend this novel wholeheartedly. Please note, this is not the end of Joss and Wes’s story, so be ready for more in the Summer of 2017!! You will definitely not be disappointed. Yes, there is a cliffhanger but trust me, it’s worth it! Please check this one out today! LOVED the heck out of this! One of my new favorites, by far! ❤

How I imagined the characters while reading ‘A BOY LIKE YOU’:

Close up shot of loving couple traveling by car and holding hands. Focus on hands of man and woman in a road trip.

Josselyn’s thoughts:  When I was younger, I would fall asleep imagining him holding me, tugging my blanket tightly around my body to feel safe -the way I felt in his arms, in the only real hug I’d ever had. I haven’t done that in years…until last night.

Josselyn’s thoughts on Wes:  His eyes stay on me for a few more seconds, and I dive into them, finding the familiar. I don’t even care if it’s make believe at this point. I’m overcome with his strength and the feel of his embrace, and I do something that I regret the moment it starts.
I cry.

Wes and Joss:  “I love the way you see me. I do,” he says, his breath held until the last second when he painfully exhales, and his shoulders fall along with his hand from my face. “You make me want to live up to your expectations. I’m afraid I’ll disappoint them, thought.”
“I don’t have any expectations. Wes. I learned about disappointment a long time ago. I just wanted you to know I appreciate what you did. that’s all,” I say.

Synopsis for COLE’:

I shouldn’t have remembered him.
He was just a guy who walked through a restaurant. I didn’t know his name. We never made eye contact. There was no connection between us at all.
But I could feel him.
The tingle down my spine. The command in his presence. The snap of tension in the air around him. That was the first time I saw him, and I was captivated.
The second time was different.
He was in the mysterious back elevator of my apartment building. Our eyes met for a fleeting second before the doors closed, and I was staggered. My breath was robbed. My senses on high alert. My body hummed.
That was just the beginning.
He was the leader of the mafia. I was about to fall in love with him, and his name…
Cole Mauricio

My ‘Blogging Readers ARC-Review’ after reading ‘COLE’:

“Cole” is the latest novel from author TIJAN. If you’re familiar with the amazing Carter Reed Series, you’ll absolutely want to read this. This novel falls into the genres of new adult and dark contemporary romance. It definitely offers a satisfying amount of suspense as well. Cole is written in the main character P.O.V’s(Point of views) of Addison Bowman and Cole Mauricio.

Addison moved to Chicago two years earlier with her husband Liam and their dog Frankie. When her world was hit by a heartbreaking incident, she had to do her best not to fall apart. Her best friend Sia finds a place for Addison, she considers the move. The place Sia found is an exclusive, beautiful building simply called “The Mauricio.” To escape the ghosts and the loneliness, Addison decides to make the move. She has no idea how much her life would change from this point on. Will Addison be able to regain her life? How will this move change her world?

Cole Mauricio is the leader of a very powerful and dangerous Mafia Family. He lived and survived during a war between the Mauricio family and the Bertal family, barely. He tries to keep some small portion of normalcy in his life with the well-protected and private apartment building that he owns. When he meets his newest tenant, his attraction to her is alluring but also dangerous in a completely different way. Will the peace between the families continue or will something break that rocky peace apart?

“Cole” is a compelling novel that definitely can be read as a stand-alone but is more pleasurable if you read The Carter Reed novels prior. It’s fascinating to see familiar characters from Tijan’s “Carter Reed” story intertwine in this latest novel. This story-line truly delivers on a blossoming romance, with seductive characters, and the fast-paced action and suspense. I recommend this alluring read for those who can enjoy a lot of sexy romance tied into the Mafia world. And for fans of The Carter Reed and Cole novels, you’ll be excited to hear that a Carter Reed 3 novel is coming soon! So be ready. As for “Cole,” you should for sure not pass this one up! 🙂
