According to Variety, the Fandango.com early ticket sales for Fifty Shades of Grey have so far grossed $60 million in sales for opening weekend which also happens to be Valentine’s Day weekend! Have you pre-ordered your tickets on Fandango for the film already?

The latest news about the Fifty Shades of Grey film:

It has been said that the film will have toned down sex scenes in comparison to the book. This was done in order to secure the R-rating  instead of an NC-17. Director Sam Taylor-Johnson says this about the sex scenes vs. sex scenes cut from the film, “It’s say it’s pretty 50/50. I think the sex scenes are integral to the story. They are not gratuitous. It tracks the story.”

The one scene that will not be in the film as it was in the book is the awkward and memorable “tampon scene” between Christian and Ana. Director Sam Taylor-Johnson basically said it would not be in the film and went on to say that it was never even discussed.

The most intense scene, according to sources, will be the final scene between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. She asks him to show her how bad it can get(being dominant and submissive). He shows her his complete dominant side. Producer Michael DeLuca says that Jamie Dornan’s performance is a miracle and he really get’s carried away in the moment.

**UPDATE** (January 7th, 2015)

The official word on the “Fifty Shades of Grey” film’s rating has been up in the air for some time. It has kept us fans hoping to be pleased while keeping as close to the book. Our wait on word about the film’s adaption is over. Would it be a Rated-R or will it go as far as an NC-17 Rating? Variety shared the news that the MPAA has designated the film with an R-Rating based on “strong sexual content including dialogue, some unusual behavior and graphic nudity.” And on that note… YAY! All of us Fifty Shade’s Lovers can expect to hopefully be pleased around Valentine’s Day when the film hits theaters!

It has been announced that the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie is set to premiere internationally at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival.

The film will run overseas on February 11th, 2015.  Both stars of the film, Jamie Dornan(Christian Grey) and Dakota Johnson(Anastasia Steele) as well as the Fifty Shades book series author E.L. James and director Sam Taylor-Johnson will all be in attendance at the one time only Berlinale press screening.

The upcoming Left Behind film is an adaptation based on the first book of the Best-Selling novel series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.  Left Behind had previously been adapted into film and held a theatrical release in 2000 starring Kirk Cameron and directed by Vic Sarin.

It is an end-times story about the rapture which is described as an event where millions of people simply vanish from earth. The “Left Behind” film focuses on specific characters during the time prior to the rapture, during the event, and follows them through the aftermath. This sets up the chain of events that occur in the novels that follow in this riveting series which take us through a seven-year period known as the tribulation.  During the tribulation period, horrible things occur on earth, and people are faced with difficult choices.

The remake of the “Left Behind” film stars: Nicolas Cage, Lea Thompson, Chad Michael Murray, Cassi Thomson, Jordin Sparks, Nicki Whelan and more.  This film is directed by Vic Armstrong.  Left Behind will have a nationwide (U.S.) release on October 3rd and will be found in a theater near you!

Wouldn’t it be great to finally get to meet Adrian and Eddie?  That can only happen with a sequel.  The story just completely develops so much more in the (2nd book) sequel and begins to show the darker side of the series, so let’s make it happen!  Let’s give them a chance to try again.  Let us show support for those trying to give us the chance to get the #VAMOVIE Sequel: FROSTBITE.  Remember, the more united we are with our support, giving film-makers a second chance, the better this could actually be.   The only way any of this will happen, is with the support and understanding of the fans and VAmovie-makers. Nothing has been confirmed or guaranteed… yet, but according to that post above, chances are looking better.  It seems that the Vampire Academy fandom is being beckoned to become active on Facebook and Twitter again.  Producers are simply asking for the #VAmovie fandom ‘#VAfamily’, to show that they have not given up the fight for Frostbite to be adapted.

★FAN VIEW:★

Word about the possibility of ‘Frostbite’ has taken some time, fans have either waited patiently or grew anxious, but films always take a while when you are waiting for word about them.  The producers behind the VA movie have called upon fans once again to rally together and to get active for the sake of a sequel.  Some fans have shared their concerns and frustrations .

★PRODUCERS VIEW:★

But I can understand the perspective of producers too.  They have to see the proof that there will be enough support for the film before they can take the risk of making it happen, in order to put the manpower and funds behind the project. They want to make sure it will show more than little promise of turning a profit and will have a real chance at becoming a decent hit.

★LEARNING FROM THE 1st #VAmovie:★

The first film ‘Vampire Academy’ had a sub-par sales-outcome in the box office, causing a ripple effect with other distributors in other countries, who didn’t give the #VAmovie a chance to show in their theaters.  Many have shared their opinions on ‘WHY’ it didn’t do better: 

1. promotional trailers that didn’t convey #VA correctly.
2. the film didn’t capture the essence of the story correctly(too comical).
3. People didn’t give it a chance, because they thought it was a teeny-bopper vampire movie(trailers).
4. Then, there were the terrible reviews by what some have called ‘bitter-reviewers/critics’ who didn’t get a free screening of the film before release day, causing them to have to watch it with the general public.

★A WORD FROM FANS: WE LOVE YOU BUT… HERE’S A LITTLE CREATIVE CRITICISM:★

►We’d love to see promo trailers show more of the true dark sides of the story from the start so potential audiences can get the true feel of the VA sequel: FROSTBITE. *Hint: Learn from the 1st film’s trailer mistakes.*
►►We loved these guys but… Maybe try a new screenwriter and/or director. (Like some of those creative minds behind ‘Arrow’ or ‘Agents Of Shield’)  -but don’t get us wrong, the screenwriter did a great job at keeping VA close to the story!  But, it might be better to start fresh. 🙂
►►►Find where the VAMovie fell short & learn from it.  Make the sequel (hoping for one) better, by strengthening the weak spots of its predecessor film. Please know that fans + movie-lovers will appreciate the action and dark moments as much as being drawn into the romance in the story.  And know that the VAfamily (Vampire Academy Fans) has your back & will support it! 🙂

Original Post (Pre-TV Series news): Bad reviews, a soft opening and a tepid $80 million worldwide haul—these are not the signposts for a successful launch of a YA franchise. And indeed, despite a small but very vocal fanbase for “The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones,” it seemed that Constantin Film had thrown in the towel when it was announced that the in-development sequel, “The Mortal Instruments: City Of Ashes,” was being shut down indefinitely. The future of the series was in doubt, but today, it looks like fans of Cassandra Clare have reason to rejoice.

It seems your letters and petitions have paid off as Constantin has revealed that ‘City Of Ashes’ will continue forward one way or another. “The fan response, from the blogosphere and the thousands of mails we have received, has encouraged us to keep going,” head of the company’s film and TV Martin Moszkowicz told THR, before adding the zinger: “It’s been overwhelmingly positive, in contrast to some other YA titles.” But that doesn’t mean that he’s completely blind to the fact that ‘Bones’ failed to find a wide audience.

“We are analyzing what we did wrong with the first film, particularly with the positioning and marketing, and what changes we have to make,” he explained. “We are working with a great group of people to reposition the franchise.”

It’ll be interesting to see how Constantin approach production on the sequel. We can’t imagine they’ll spend more than the $60 million they did on ‘City Of Bones’ this time around, but clearly there is something in the numbers they’re getting to indicate this series is worth a second crack. -via: indiewire.

We have updated news on the progress of the Mortal Instruments Book Series becoming a television series. The word is that ABC Family channel will be where you will find the “Mortal Instruments” drama series titled “Shadowhunters”. The show idea is said to be a 13-episode drama series and casting news will be announced in the near future since production is said to begin in May in Toronto.  Check back for more updates!

The latest news that was announced in 2014 from Constantin Films (owns the rights to the Shadowhunter books) is that they are Not doing a film after all for City of Ashes but are working on developing a television show instead.  This will be working toward creating a pilot for the show with show runner Ed Decter (Helix) in hopes to get the show into production some time in 2015. There is no news yet if the same cast will return or if there will be a recasting for the t.v. show. More news to come. I will share it once it is announced.

It’s true! Charlie Hunnam Quit Fifty Shades Of Grey! (Take Our Poll)

You have all probably heard the Breaking ‘Fifty Shades’ News that was made official hours ago about the actor Charlie Hunnam, who was set to play the lead character of Fifty Shades of Grey, Christian Grey quitting. It is all true!

There are multiple stories being told as to the reasons behind Charlie stepping down from the role. The ‘official’ reason that has been stated by the main sources for the movie and Charlie Hunnam say this:
an “immersive TV schedule” as his reason for pulling out prematurely.

“The filmmakers of Fifty Shades of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey,” Universal Pictures said in a released statement.

While that may be the actual case, there have been rumors flowing around on social media that began with unknown sources claiming that Charlie Hunnam got cold feet about the highly controversial adaptation and the pressure involved, or as Christian Grey might put it, performance anxiety.

Hunnam will still continue his role as as Jackson “Jax” Teller in Sons of Anarchy as well as his upcoming role in Guillermo del Toro’s next film “Crimson Peak,” also starring Jessica Chastain and Tom Hiddleston.

As the author E.L. James of Fifty Shades of Grey novel series tweeted to Charlie Hunnam: “I wish Charlie all the best x”, we concur.

Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters Movie Promotions This week!

The adaptation Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters, will be having one busy week filled with promotional spots. We will be adding this week’s interviews from Entertainment Tonight, MTV and will try to get photos/video when the cast visits New York City’s Comic-Con on Friday. Make sure to Follow this blog to keep up with the updates!

Entertainment Tonight aired their behind-the-scenes visit to the Blood Sisters Movie set while the cast was still shooting the film. Also, later this week, MTV will air it’s footage from their visit to the ‘Blood Sisters’ set visit as well.

Check back here for UPDATES and more videos and photos to be added from what many of the #VAfamily (aka Vampire Academy Fans) are coming to call on Twitter: #VAPartyWeek due to so many promotional events going on this week alone, for the long awaited book to film adaptation.
