“Independence Day 2” which will be called “Independence Day: Resurgence” was announced in 2013 with Roland Emmerich set as the director. The name for the sequel was “ID 2: Forever” but has since changed officially. The film was given a 2016 release date for the sequel film to the blockbuster hit “Independence Day”. The initial plan was to shoot 2 movies: “Independence Day 2” and “Independence Day 3” back to back but no word yet on whether that plan has changed along with the new name for the film. That latest change announced is the official title of “Independence Day Part 2”, which is now titledINDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE.
What we can probably look forward to and expect: The story will have a new generation of humans defending mankind against their dangerous alien adversaries in a whole new way with all of the CGI special-effects available today that was not around in the 90’s. 20 years after the events of the first film, a new wave of alien “reinforcements” arrive at our planet in response to a distress signal sent up by the “first wave” of extraterrestrial visitors. UPDATE ON CASTING:Liam Hemsworth is taking a role as an alien butt-kicker in the upcoming ID2 film. Jessie Usher has also been cast and is being dubbed as “Will Smith 2.0” who will play (Will Smith’s character in the 1996 film)-Steven Hiller’s step-son, who I assume is Vivica A. Fox’s son from the first film. Maika Monroe has been cast as President Whitmore’s daughter which was originally played by Mae Whitman in the original Independence Day film. Roland Emmerich will be direction Independence Day Resurgence due out later in 2016.

Will this upcoming film breathe new life to these type of video game adaptions? Many past game adaptations have struggled to be a major breakthrough success at the box office for this genre of film. Movie makers are anxious to see if gamers and action-loving-movie-goers will unite, revel about the release and find themselves entertained by the upcoming big-screen release of the Assassin’s Creed Movie. This movie will feature an original story and characters, rather than directly adapting the game’s storyline.
Assassin’s Creed is the first movie to be produced by Ubisoft Motion Pictures, the vibrant new film branch of Ubisoft, in collaboration with Regency Pictures.UMP CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet has also confirmed that the film adaptation will not be a direct adaptation of any of the games. The new Assassin’s Creed film will take place in Spain and focus on the infamous Inquisition led by Tomas de Torquemada.
There have been a few delays with the film, pushing the date back from the former date in May 2016 to the new Official date in December of 2016. Assassin’s Creed will star Michael Fassbender(X-Men:Days of Future Past) in the lead role as Callum Lynch. Also cast in the film are Marion Cotillard(Inception), Ariane Labed(Before Midnight), and Michael Kenneth Williams(Boardwalk Empire). Assassin’s Creed will be directed by Justin Kurzel(Snowtown).

Guy Ritchie is directing the upcoming film “Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur”, which is based on the legendary hero’s tale. This story has been told times before but Ritchie is planning to breath new life into this classic story by changing up how King Arthur himself is conveyed in this film. There will also be a fantasy element to the film that will include giant snakes, massive war elephants, and a monstrous viking-like creature known as The Nemesis. “Hopefully, loyalists won’t be too offended by what we’ve done,” says producer Lionel Wigram.
from the pages of the EW article, Ritchie explains why he wants to add more to King Arthur. “I think where the pitfall has often been is trying to make King Arthur bland and nice, and nice and bland,” he says. “The two qualities make rather compatible bed companions. Unfortunately, they’re not interesting to watch. Luke Skywalker was always the most uninteresting character in Star Wars because he’s the good guy. Good guys are boring.”

If you’ve had the chance to read the novels, you’ll know why the filming has moved to France! Here are a few glimpses into the set and filming that has happened for the last two adaptations of this erotic-love-story trilogy. Jamie Dornan & Dakota Johnson are filming a scene in the first clip, but we also see one of Ana Steele’s personal bodyguards, Luke Sawyer played by Brant Daugherty. Is anyone else a little mind-blown? Here’s why I say this. Jamie is Christian, we know that and he’s a nice guy! GHOSTBUSTERS FILM SERIES: TWO COMPANION FILMS IN THE WORKS!

We already know that a Ghostbusters reboot with an all female lead cast is set to begin filming this summer(2015) with a release date set for 2016 by Paul Feig. The original Ghostbuster film’s star Dan Aykroyd and original director Ivan Reitman of Ghostbusters 1 & 2, have taken important roles in a newly-established production company formed by Sony called “Ghostcorps”. The production company will be a huge part of the expansion of the Ghostbusters brand which is said to include films, TV shows, merchandise and more.
With this new company by Sony, the Ghostbusters series is set to begin producing a second companion reboot film that will star an all male lead cast. The Russo brothers, Joe and Anthony Russo(directors of Captain America: The Winter Soldier) are said to possibly produce and direct the all male lead reboot film. Channing Tatum is on board with partners Peter Kiernan and Reid Carolin to produce the reboot. Tatum is also said to be hoping to score a staring role in the all male lead film. Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3) is writing the script for the all male lead Ghostbusters reboot.

Ghostbusters 3 was a rumor for a long time but earlier in 2014 it was confirmed that a reboot would definitely be coming to a theater near you in the near future. What has been officially confirmed is that the first Ghostbuster reboot’s crew will consist of an all female cast! Some of the rumors that have floated around before the cast was announced were that: some of the original cast will return or that Oscar(Sigourney Weaver’s character’s son)will become a Ghostbuster now as an adult.
What has been shared via Twitter from the film’s director @PaulFeig is this: “It’s official. I’m making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @katiedippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That’s who I’m gonna call.”
The original director Ivan Reitman was on board to direct this latest installment but he stepped down after the passing of the original Ghostbuster and writer of the film, Harold Ramis who played Egon Spegler. Reitman stayed a part of the film as a producer. Filming is set to begin in the summer of 2015 in Boston and possibly New York City.

GHOSTBUSTERS 3 (all male lead-reboot)

Ghostbusters 3 is no longer a part of the rumor mill. If there will in fact be two Ghostbusters films coming in the next year or so, is seeming very likely. The first reboot film has been confirmed(all female lead cast version) and the second film(a possible all male lead cast) is in the works. The original director Ivan Reitman decided to only be a part of the film as a producer after the passing of the original Ghostbuster and writer of the film, Harold Ramis who played Egon Spegler. No word yet on confirmed cast, plot or when the film will begin shooting. Brothers Joe and Anthony Russo, are said to be teaming up to direct and produce the film. Drew Pearce is writing the script. Joining partners Peter Kiernan and Reid Carolin, is Channing Tatum as part of the producer team. Tatum as well as fellow actor Chris Pine are rumored to be possibly staring in lead roles of this reboot film. As more information becomes available, I’ll update it here.
Current Rumors(Not confirmed) for this Reboot:Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt will star in the film, there may be a male/female lead Ghostbuster cast, original Ghostbuster cast members to join the new reboot cast, more Ghostbuster crossover films may be in the works between the two reboots.

It all began with “The Strangers” movie by Bryan Bertino in 2008 becoming an instant horror movie fan favorite. Who can forget that creepy brief conversation between victim and the masked killer. They had us from…

Many fans of the first film have been waiting and anticipating a sequel to this film because it was such a horrifying and creepy movie made within the last decade. It wasn’t filled with monsters, vampires or any of those kind of scary things. No, what made it memorably eerie was how the situation and the gripping fear in the film actually seemed real. The first film was directed by Bertino who has said that it was inspired in part by the true crime book “Helter Skelter”, which recounts the stories of the gruesome killings by Charles Manson and his murderous followers.

BELOW IS THE PREVIOUS NEWS, PRIOR TO THE PRODUCTION OF “THE STRANGERS 2”:
Relativity Studios is moving ahead with the film and has a new screenwriter and director. Ben Katai has written the script for the sequel and Marcel Langenegger has signed-on to the project as director. There is no word on how the film’s sequel will begin or if it will pick up where the first film left off. There is also question of whether or not Liv Tyler’s character from the first film survived or if she will reprise her role.

The Plot for ‘THE STRANGERS 2’:
The story will follow a family taking a trip to a trailer park that another relative owns. There teenage daughter who has been troublesome will soon be sent to boarding school after the family trip. When the family arrives to the park, they discover that the aunt and uncle who run the place have been murdered by Pin-Up Girl, Dollface and Man in the Mask. The family must survive the night while the three masked maniac killers try to make them their next victims.

The latest news about the Fifty Shades of Grey film:
It has been said that the film will have toned down sex scenes in comparison to the book. This was done in order to secure the R-rating instead of an NC-17. Director Sam Taylor-Johnson says this about the sex scenes vs. sex scenes cut from the film, “It’s say it’s pretty 50/50. I think the sex scenes are integral to the story. They are not gratuitous. It tracks the story.”
The one scene that will not be in the film as it was in the book is the awkward and memorable “tampon scene” between Christian and Ana. Director Sam Taylor-Johnson basically said it would not be in the film and went on to say that it was never even discussed.
The most intense scene, according to sources, will be the final scene between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. She asks him to show her how bad it can get(being dominant and submissive). He shows her his complete dominant side. Producer Michael DeLuca says that Jamie Dornan’s performance is a miracle and he really get’s carried away in the moment.

The official word on the “Fifty Shades of Grey” film’s rating has been up in the air for some time. It has kept us fans hoping to be pleased while keeping as close to the book. Our wait on word about the film’s adaption is over. Would it be a Rated-R or will it go as far as an NC-17 Rating? Variety shared the news that the MPAA has designated the film with an R-Rating based on “strong sexual content including dialogue, some unusual behavior and graphic nudity.” And on that note… YAY! All of us Fifty Shade’s Lovers can expect to hopefully be pleased around Valentine’s Day when the film hits theaters!

It has been announced that the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie is set to premiere internationally at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival.
The film will run overseas on February 11th, 2015. Both stars of the film, Jamie Dornan(Christian Grey) and Dakota Johnson(Anastasia Steele) as well as the Fifty Shades book series author E.L. James and director Sam Taylor-Johnson will all be in attendance at the one time only Berlinale press screening.

The long awaited fourth installment of the Jurassic franchise “JURASSIC WORLD” will be released in 2015 and the actual plot for the upcoming film has yet to be announced at the time of this post. The plot will be updated once it is available. The rumor mill though, is in full swing. It has been stated that much of the film takes place on the island of Isla Nublar, which was the island from the first Jurassic Park film.
Rumors also state that Jurassic World (Jurassic Park: 4) will have succeeded in opening the theme park that John Hammond wanted in part 1, which never came to be then. There is also talks of underwater dinosaurs in this film as well as T-Rex possibly being up against a new threat, a dinosaur we’ve never seen in any of the past Jurassic Park films. We will update information on the much anticipated film as it is officially released.

The park’s owners wanted a bigger and badder dinosaur so that the guests at the newly opened park can be entertained. This is when they decide to actually create a hybrid dino that would be even larger and more dangerous than T-Rex. The name of this new hybrid dinosaur is Indominus Rex which was not initially introduced in the first trailer of the Jurassic World film. But the most recent promos are giving up the first chance to meet this new ferocious dino.
Director Colin Trevorrow had this to say: “The gaps in [Indominus Rex’s] sequence were filled with DNA from other specia, much like the genome in the first film was completed with frog DNA. I know the idea of a modified dinosaur put a lot of fans on red alert, and I understand it. But we aren’t doing anything here that (Michael) Crichton didn’t suggest in his novels.”
Indominus Rex has a more ancient look to it, like it would have existed before the Triassic period (about 231.4 million years ago); the Tyrannosaurus existed in the Maastrichtian age of the upper Cretaceous Period (about 66 to 68 million years ago). It looks like a more aggressive, agile T-Rex, which is never a good combination.
I’m very excited to see what this new breed will look like in the motion film. But this may be the actual first glimpse at the newest dinsosaur set to terrorize all of the park guests during the summer later this year in a theater near you.

Mr. “I’ll Be Back” will be keeping his word in 2015 when Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to reprise his huge 80’s role as the Terminator in the first film of the Terminator rebooted franchise. We get a new take on the world of Terminators and the Connors in TERMINATOR: GENYSIS. This film will be the first of what is expected to be a stand-alone trilogy for the franchise.
The director taking the helm on this film is Alan Taylor(Thor: The Dark World) who will give new life to the characters but will pay homage to the original films of this franchise. According to Paramount two more films will follow Genisys given that it becomes a hit. For now the release dates are slated as May 19th, 2017 followed by June 19th, 2018(subject to change).
The cast includes Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, also Jason Clarke as John Connor, Aaron V. Williamson as T-800, and Sandrine Holt as Detective Cheung- who arrests both Connor and Reese upon their arrival in 2017.
The official plot description will be released soon but for now all we know is that we can expect some interesting twists and a fresh new take on the story. What has been rumored (waiting for confirmation) is that there will be time travel, new action scenes, and a possible aging Terminator. Check back for the confirmed plot and trailer.

Entertainment Weekly released more info. about the plot for Terminator: Genisys. It will definitely have a lot of the original storyline but be ready for many new added twists, too:
Sarah Connor isn’t the innocent she was when Linda Hamilton first sported feathered hair and acid-washed jeans in the role. Nor is she Hamilton’s steely zero body-fat warrior in 1991’s T2. Rather, the mother of humanity’s messiah was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9. Since then, she’s been raised by (brace yourself) Schwarzenegger’s Terminator—an older T-800 she calls “Pops”—who is programmed to guard rather than to kill. As a result, Sarah is a highly trained antisocial recluse who’s great with a sniper rifle but not so skilled at the nuances of human emotion.
“Since she was 9 years old, she has been told everything that was supposed to happen,” says Ellison. “But Sarah fundamentally rejects that destiny. She says, ‘That’s not what I want to do.’ It’s her decision that drives the story in a very different direction.”

James Cameron offered some friendly advice on the reboot of the Terminator franchise. He said:
“I pointed out that the outer covering (of the Terminator) was actually not synthetic, that it was organic and therefore could age. You could theoretically have a Terminator that was sent back in time, missed his target, and ended up just kind of living on in society. Because he is a learning computer and has a brain as a central processor he could actually become more human as he went along without getting discovered.”
Cameron then went on to highlight his feelings about the Terminator franchise since he handed over the reigns:
“It’s not my problem, that’s the beauty of it. It’s like being a grandparent and the kids come over then you can send them back. I think the chain’s been broken by the films in between. When I walked away from it I had to do it with the sense that I can’t invest in this emotionally anymore. If it’s not good, it doesn’t really bother me personally.”-(Deadline)

The writers of the upcoming duo-films are Chase Palmer and Cary Fukunaga(director) who will likely follow close to the dark and thrilling storyline of the novel featuring the clown that nightmares are made of Pennywise the Dancing Clown.

The hit cartoon cult T.V. series from the 1980’s will be released in 2015 as a live-action movie adaptation. Young fresh-faced actresses have been cast as Jem and the Hologram’s band members. Aubrey Peeples is Jerrica(alter-ego “Jem”); Stefanie Scott, Hayley Kiyoko, and Aurora Perrineau as the Holograms. Ryan Guzman will play Rio Pacheco who is the band’s manager and Jem’s love interest. Familiar faces such as Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis have also been given roles in the film.

Ghostbusters 3 was a rumor for a long time but earlier in 2014 it was confirmed that a reboot would definitely be coming to a theater near you in the near future. What has been officially confirmed is that the Ghostbuster crew will consist of an all female cast! Some of the rumors that have floated around before the cast was announced were that: some of the original cast will return or that Oscar(Sigourney Weaver’s character’s son)will become a Ghostbuster now as an adult.
What has been shared via Twitter from the film’s director @PaulFeig is this: “It’s official. I’m making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @katiedippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That’s who I’m gonna call.”
The original director Ivan Reitman was on board to direct this latest installment but he stepped down after the passing of the original Ghostbuster and writer of the film, Harold Ramis who played Egon Spegler. Reitman stayed a part of the film as a producer. Filming is set to being in the summer of 2015 in New York City. In what is said to be the final film of the Rambo franchise, many fans are hoping for an ending with a big bang. The cast has not been fully confirmed yet but we do know that Sylvester Stallone will not only star in the film but he will also take the helm as director.

POLTERGEIST

The classic horror film is getting a sequel/remake through 20th Century Fox with Gil Keenan as the film’s director. The cast and plot have been confirmed and the film will be made in 3D. 2015’s Poltergeist writer has re-imagined and revamped the tale of a family’s suburban neighborhood home being invaded by terrifying spirits. With a drastic change in special effects available today and knowing that there are more electronics today then when the original film was made, we can safely assume that the spirits may go beyond simply coming through the television.
Jared Harris will play the celebrity ghost hunter and host of a cable TV show called Haunted House Cleaners in the film. The Bowen family will be played by Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Saxon Sharbino, Kyle Catlett, and Kennedi Clements as the youngest daughter of the Bowen family. Jan Adams has been cast as Dr. Claire Powell.
PLOT: The film follows the classic horror tale of a family’s suburban neighborhood home being invaded by angry and terrifying spirits. When the frightening apparitions become more forceful while terrorizing the family, they escalate their attacks to the point of taking the youngest daughter. The family must unite to try and rescue her.

“Independence Day 2” which will be called “ID Forever Part 1” was announced in 2013 with Roland Emmerich set as the director. The film was given a 2016 release date for the first of a two-part sequel to the blockbuster hit “Independence Day”. The initial plan was to shoot both ID Forever Part 1 “Independence Day 2” and ID Forever Part 2 “Independence Day 3” back to back. The latest change announced officially is the title of “Independence Day Part 2” which is now titled INDEPENDENCE_DAY:_RESURGENCE.
What we can probably look forward to and expect: The story will have a new generation of humans defending mankind against their dangerous alien adversaries in a whole new way with all of the CGI special-effects available today that was not around in the 90’s. UPDATE ON CASTING: First off, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, and Vivica A. Fox are set to reprise their roles. AWESOME! Liam Hemsworth is taking a role as an alien butt-kicker in the upcoming ID2 film. Jessie Usher has also been cast and is being dubbed as “Will Smith 2.0” who will play (Will Smith’s character in the 1996 film)-Steven Hiller’s step-son, who I assume is Vivica A. Fox’s son from the first film. Maika Monroe has been cast as President Whitmore’s daughter which was originally played by Mae Whitman in the ID1 film.
UPDATES & CAMEO NEWS:Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox, Judd Hirsch, and Brent Spiner will all return to reprise their roles.

The upcoming Left Behind film is an adaptation based on the first book of the Best-Selling novel series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. Left Behind had previously been adapted into film and held a theatrical release in 2000 starring Kirk Cameron and directed by Vic Sarin.
It is an end-times story about the rapture which is described as an event where millions of people simply vanish from earth. The News has been announced: The Producers behind the Vampire Academy Movie have been prepping the fandom for the huge announcement and now it is here. They need the Fans help to show they are behind FROSTBITE Fan Funding Campaign for the film.
MORE ON WHAT THEY ANNOUNCED:
Beginning Wednesday, August 6th, 2014, they will be launching a Fan Funding Campaign for “Frostbite: A Vampire Academy Film” on IndieGogo.com, to raise money for the film. The goal that fans must reach in contributions over one month is $1.5 million. This will convince those who will be backing this film with most of the funding, that the fan support is there and the film should be made.
If this goal of 1.5 million is reached, they will begin the production process later this year (2014), filming in early 2015 and releasing it in late 2015.
It may sound ridiculously high, right? 1.5 million!? I bet you are shaking your head and pouting, thinking this will never happen right?! WRONG!! It can DEFINITELY, POSITIVELY happen but it all depends on YOU… The Fans!

On Wednesday, the author E.L. James, of the hugely anticipated Fifty Shades Of Grey novel to film adaptation, announced this via Twitter:
It was rumored that fans of #FSOG would be having to wait until fall to get a glimpse of the adaptation but confirmation has been made that the official first trailer will make its debut in two weeks: July 24th!
Author and Producer of the film adaptation E.L. James also states that the first trailer will satisfy fans ahead of the film’s February. 13, 2015 Release date. She stated: “I’ve had a sneak peek and WOW!” James shared, adding the hashtag #WeAimToPlease.
Fifty Shades Of Grey” is a best-selling series, which follows the love story of billionaire businessman Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and his virginal lover Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson). Fans of the highly anticipated adaptation have actively responded on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook in anticipation of the upcoming trailer release.
News about the trailers release comes one week after Tracking Board reported that Universal Studios is already planning and preparing to adapt the second novel of the “Fifty Shades” series, “Fifty Shades Darker”, for a theatrical film as well. Universal is part of NBCUniversal, which is now owned by Comcast Corp.
“Universal is betting on the fact that their upcoming ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ adaptation will make a lot of money, and I think that would be a pretty safe bet,” reported the Hollywood insider site. “Getting a head start is a smart move on Universal’s part, because the sooner they have a workable script, the sooner they can start production on the second installment of this cash-cow franchise.”-(IBT)

Nothing has been confirmed or guaranteed… yet, but according to that post above, chances are looking better. It seems that the Vampire Academy fandom is being beckoned to become active on Facebook and Twitter again. Producers are simply asking for the #VAmovie fandom ‘#VAfamily’, to show that they have not given up the fight for Frostbite to be adapted.

Word about the possibility of ‘Frostbite’ has taken some time, fans have either waited patiently or grew anxious, but films always take a while when you are waiting for word about them. The producers behind the VA movie have called upon fans once again to rally together and to get active for the sake of a sequel. Some fans have shared their concerns and frustrations .
★PRODUCERS VIEW:★
But I can understand the perspective of producers too. They have to see the proof that there will be enough support for the film before they can take the risk of making it happen, in order to put the manpower and funds behind the project. They want to make sure it will show more than little promise of turning a profit and will have a real chance at becoming a decent hit.
★LEARNING FROM THE 1st #VAmovie:★
The first film ‘Vampire Academy’ had a sub-par sales-outcome in the box office, causing a ripple effect with other distributors in other countries, who didn’t give the #VAmovie a chance to show in their theaters. Many have shared their opinions on ‘WHY’ it didn’t do better:
1. promotional trailers that didn’t convey #VA correctly. 2. the film didn’t capture the essence of the story correctly(too comical). 3. People didn’t give it a chance, because they thought it was a teeny-bopper vampire movie(trailers). 4. Then, there were the terrible reviews by what some have called ‘bitter-reviewers/critics’ who didn’t get a free screening of the film before release day, causing them to have to watch it with the general public.

★A WORD FROM FANS: WE LOVE YOU BUT… HERE’S A LITTLE CREATIVE CRITICISM:★
►We’d love to see promo trailers show more of the true dark sides of the story from the start so potential audiences can get the true feel of the VA sequel: FROSTBITE. *Hint: Learn from the 1st film’s trailer mistakes.* ►►We loved these guys but… Maybe try a new screenwriter and/or director. (Like some of those creative minds behind ‘Arrow’ or ‘Agents Of Shield’) -but don’t get us wrong, the screenwriter did a great job at keeping VA close to the story! But, it might be better to start fresh. 🙂 ►►►Find where the VAMovie fell short & learn from it. Make the sequel (hoping for one) better, by strengthening the weak spots of its predecessor film. Please know that fans + movie-lovers will appreciate the action and dark moments as much as being drawn into the romance in the story.
