Synopsis for DIRTY BOY’:

The final book in the series tells the story of Cash “Ghost” McCall, Louis “Stretch” King, and the woman they allow in their relationship, Ophelia Donovan, who just happens to be Outlaw’s little sister.

Ophelia Donovan wants to move past the loves of her life, two badass bikers in her brother’s MC. When she gave Cash “Ghost” McCall and Louis “Stretch” King, an ultimatum of bringing their relationship out in the open or she’d walk, they chose separation. It crushed Ophelia’s dreams of having a happily-ever-after and family with Ghost and Stretch.

Stretch lives with guilt and pain from the death of his former lover and the injuries he received the same night. For a while, Cash and Stretch worked fine. They’d agreed to choose a woman together to bring into their relationship. Instead, Cash brought Outlaw’s sister in, intending to use her as a shield for Cash’s growing feelings for both Stretch and Fee. The dissolution of their relationship because of Fee’s goading leaves Stretch angry with both of his lovers.

Ghost doesn’t do relationships. He doesn’t have the confidence in himself that he’s equipped for something meaningful. He only knows he loves both Stretch and Ophelia. She wants kids, a house with him and Stretch, and, most of all, an open relationship with them. So open she expects Ghost to go to her brothers—his club’s president—and confess all. Even if he did do commitment, he wouldn’t be alive to see it through. Outlaw would kill Ghost, especially after already warning him away.

Christopher “Outlaw” Caldwell knows Ghost is about fun and fucking. He’s in charge of the Bobs, those women trotted out for pleasure at special club occasions. Outlaw’s little sister wants a family and he refuses to allow her to waste her years on a man who’ll walk away in the end. Outlaw’s life has been quiet recently, with every known club threat removed, giving him plenty of time to focus on family.

Thanks to Cash’s outrageous plan to throw Outlaw off, he raises the man’s suspicions instead. A biker from a rival club uses Ophelia to get on Outlaw’s good side, leaving her gravely injured, Outlaw in jail, Stretch admitting how important both she and Cash are to him, and Cash determined to never deny his love again.

Warning: Not suitable for anyone under 18. Contains excessive swearing, graphic sex between MMF, taboo subjects, and…Kendall at her finest.

My ‘Blogging Readers Review’ after reading ‘Dirty Boy’:

This latest novel, “Dirty Boy” by author Kathryn Kelly is sexy, enthralling, full poignant and impassioned moments. This novel fits into the Contemporary Romance genre. “Dirty Boy” is written from four character P.O.V.’s(point of views) from Max Sherwood, Story Thornton, Addie Reynolds, and Kayleigh Sherwood.

Max Sherwood is the middle sibling out of five brothers, who come from a rich family. He could’ve chosen any future for himself, but he wanted to pursue a career in the adult film industry. Despite getting married to his high school sweetheart, Kayleigh, and having a young son, he still wouldn’t give up his sexy career choice. This would be the wedge between Max and his wife in a deep and destructive way.

Kayleigh Sherwood has become very bitter and secretive about her true feelings toward her husband Max’s porn career. She resents it all but keeps her feelings to herself, which only makes her anger grow and her bitterness stronger. She and Max have a young son, Simon, together. Max adores their son but she really never wanted a child and it shows in the way she lacks in being a truly caring and nurturing mother. Will Kayleigh finally follow through on her plans to get back at the husband who has no clue of how bitter his wife truly is? As time moves forward, how far will Kayleigh’s bitterness take her? And what will it cost their family?

Story Thornton met Max when she was 15 at his father’s house. Her mother Babs had recently married her new husband, Winston. On Story’s 16th birthday, Max makes a surprise visit and gives her a sweet gift that makes her crush on Max grow. As time progresses, unexpected changes come into Story’s life. How will Story’s life transform and where will her choices take her? Will she get the degree she hopes to get for her independence or will her life spin out of control?

When Story finds herself in desperate need of money for tuition, she considers a few sexy and wild options. To what lengths will Story find herself willing to go just to keep her head above water? With a mother who only thinks of herself most times and who has a twisted way of being a mother, what predicament will Story find herself in? And how will Max deal with his own changes and crossing paths with Story years later? This story definitely takes you on an emotional journey with intense moments, dark ordeals, and riveting characters. I recommend “Dirty Boy” to Kathryn Kelly fans familiar with her amazing writing and for readers who can appreciate a story that isn’t afraid to go deep and dark. Check this out if this sounds like your type of read!

Knights of The Round Table - King Authur 11

Guy Ritchie is directing the upcoming film “Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur”, which is based on the legendary hero’s tale. This story has been told times before but Ritchie is planning to breath new life into this classic story by changing up how King Arthur himself is conveyed in this film. There will also be a fantasy element to the film that will include giant snakes, massive war elephants, and a monstrous viking-like creature known as The Nemesis. “Hopefully, loyalists won’t be too offended by what we’ve done,” says producer Lionel Wigram.

from the pages of the EW article, Ritchie explains why he wants to add more to King Arthur. “I think where the pitfall has often been is trying to make King Arthur bland and nice, and nice and bland,” he says. “The two qualities make rather compatible bed companions. Unfortunately, they’re not interesting to watch. Luke Skywalker was always the most uninteresting character in Star Wars because he’s the good guy. Good guys are boring.”

Staring in this film are Charlie Hunnam(Sons Of Anarchy) as King Arthur, French actress Astrid Berges-Frisbey, also Jude Law, Eric Bana, Katie McGrath, and David Beckham. The official plot description is posted below. Check back for the official trailer which will be posted below once that is released.

Orphaned as an infant and raised by three prostitutes in the 5th century version of London, this Arthur is more of a street-wise hood, who looks after the people living in his tiny corner of the world. The young Arthur runs the back passages of Londonium with his crew, not knowing his royal lineage until he grabs Excalibur. Instantly confronted by the sword’s influence, Arthur is forced to make up his mind. He joins the rebellion and a shadowy young woman named Guinevere, he must learn to understand the magic weapon, deal with his demons and unite the people to defeat the dictator Vortigern, the man who murdered his parents and stole his crown to become king.

One Lucky Night by Aria Kane Ana Blaze and more

The Synopsis’ for the stories inside of ‘ONE LUCKY NIGHT’:

One night can change everything…

The crew at Boston’s Brazen Head Pub hasn’t been very lucky in love. Can a mysterious visitor inspire them to look past old hurts and misconceptions and give romance a chance? One Lucky Night is a collection of five sexy interwoven novelettes by Aria Kane, Grace Teague, Ana Blaze, Constance Phillips, and Melinda Dozier.

Lucky Break by Aria Kane
Four years ago, chef Derek Chase walked out of Andrea Rivera’s life after a tragedy neither of them were prepared to deal with. When she’s called to the Brazen Head to repair a dishwasher, old sparks ignite buried feelings.

Lucky Star by Grace Teague
When her life is threatened by a mugger, Charlotte Price realizes she’s in love with her best friend, Tommy Leung. The Brazen Head seems like the perfect neutral place to confess her feelings, but nothing goes according to plan.

A New Tune by Ana Blaze
When it comes to dating, Holly Hall has one unbreakable rule: no musicians. Not even gorgeous ones. Especially not gorgeous ones. Dating them only leads to heartbreak. So why did she let singer-songwriter Cian O’Neill kiss her? And why is she thinking about doing it again?

Lexi’s Chance by Constance Phillips
As a bartender, Sean Whelan meets all kinds of women every night, but none turn his head the way that Lexi has. She’s been playing cat and mouse with him for weeks. Tonight, Sean’s determined to get Lexi to quit teasing and take a real chance on him.

Drink or Dare by Melinda Dozier
A bachelorette party Drink or Dare game pairs paramedic students, Rachel Robertson and Killian Whelan, in a flirting match. Soon, the dares threaten to turn their academic rivalry into something much more.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Reviews’ after reading  an ARC-Early Copy of ‘ONE LUCKY NIGHT’:

One Lucky Night is a novel with five stories written by five great authors. The five separate, yet connected Novelettes, revolve around different main characters all tied, in one way or another by a little Irish-American pub named The Brazen Head. Each of the stories are set from the same night. You’ll also notice one mysterious elder character who makes a cameo in each story, which I thought was a nice touch. Below are my individual reviews for each of the five Novelettes.

Lucky Break by Aria Kane:

The first Novelette is ‘Lucky Break’ by Aria Kane. The story is written in the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views). Andrea ‘Andy’ Rivera heads to a small pub to fix an appliance and to her surprise, she comes face to face with her brother’s old best friend, Derek Chase, who she hasn’t seen or heard from in four years. Now that Derek sees Andrea again after leaving without a word long ago, he can’t help but feel torn. He’s torn between the urge to take her into his arms and never let her go or keep his word to his best friend, Ricky, and leave her alone. When there is so much left unsaid, it can change lives completely, especially when Derek left without a word. Find out if the heartbreak from their past can ever be forgiven.

Lucky Star by Grace Teague:

This is the second Novelette titled ‘Lucky Star’ by Grace Teague. We get to read the story in the main female character Charlotte Price’s P.O.V.(point of view). Her best guy friend’s name is Tommy Leung and he’s handsome and sweet but has been Charlotte’s friend for a few years now. Unbeknownst to him, Charlotte has been harboring secret feelings for him that she now plans to confessing to him. It has never been the right time with them since one of them was either dating someone else when the other was single or work and school has kept them busy. The story is sweet and refreshing in the sense that you get to experience her confession to her long time friend. Find out for yourself if Tommy feels the same or if friendship is all he wants from Charlotte.

A New Tune by Ana Blaze:

In the third Novelette ‘A New Tune’ by Ana Blaze, we get to enjoy the story from two P.O.V.’s(point of views). The two P.O.V.’s come from the main characters, waitress Holly Hall and local musician Cian O’Neill, who both work at The Brazen Head pub. Holly left college, family and friends behind for what she thought was true love and ended up brokenhearted. She moved and got a job with her sister Eliza, till she figured out what would be next for her. Cian O’Neill sings and plays his guitar at the pub and for the past few months since she’s moved here, he’s had Holly in his sights after one New Year’s Eve mindblowing-kiss. He doesn’t give up because his mind is set on her. She has turned him down since that kiss because she’s come to believe that every musician is a ‘no good’. This was a lovely story about trying to get over heartbreak and trying to give love a chance again.

Lexi’s Chance by Constance Phillips:

‘Lexi’s Chance’ is the fourth Novelette and is written by Constance Phillips. This story comes from the two P.O.V.’s(point of views) of main characters Sean Whelan and Lexi Mattson. Sean is part owner of The Brazen Head pub and works as a bartender. He’s charismatic, flirtatious and charming while he serves his customers but there is one customer that he feels a special connection to. Lexi Mattson works to help those in need and the homeless. Like clockwork, every Friday she shows up with a co-worker and unwinds a little at the local pub. She likes Sean but isn’t sure if the words he says to her are any different than what he says to other female customers. To protect herself from getting hurt, she doesn’t let his sweet words break past her walls. Sean has his own reasons to protect himself and made a rule to never date a customer. This was a sweet story reminding us that looks and behavior can be deceiving. Also, that some chances, when they feel right, are worth the risk because sometimes there is a great payoff at the end of that risk.

Drink Or Dare by Melinda Dozier:

The fifth and final Novelette in ‘One Lucky Night’ is titled ‘Drink Or Dare’ by Melinda Dozier. You’ll be able to enjoy this story in the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views), Killian Whelan and Rachel Robertson. Killian is one of the Whelan siblings, who is part owner of The Brazen Head pub but has his own dreams of completing his schooling to become a paramedic. Rachel is his fellow classmate, with the same goal but she’s also his biggest competition in class. On this night, Rachel goes with her friends for a bachelorette party to a local pub for a night of a drinks and a game called Drink or Dare. She had no clue that Killian would be there. Rachel and Killian always seem to compete and annoy each other in class but on this night, they may discover that there may be more between them, than just rivalry.

I am very happy to have been given the chance to read and review an ARC copy of this great novel because these stories were enjoyable from start to finish!  The characters were well written, the stories are shorter yet thorough and each novelette story never leaves you feeling gypped.  I do recommend this novel for those that love wonderful stories that fulfill readers with romance, love and heartwarming endings.

(Lucky Break) Andrea’s thoughts on Derek:  Derek freaking Chase.  Of all the restaurants in Boston, of all the chefs at those restaurants, why did he have to be here? He wasn’t even supposed to be in Boston, last Andrea had heard.  He was supposed to be in New York, impressing everyone in the fancy restaurant scene down there.

(Lucky Break) Derek’s thoughts on Andrea:  This was the Andrea he remembered:  confident, feisty, and a total smartass.  Though he’d never told her, this was the girl he’d fallen in love with.  And left, he reminded himself.  Without a word of explanation.

(Lucky Break)  Andrea and Derek: “You didn’t need to, you know.”-(Andrea)
“I didn’t have to…?”-(Derek)
“Pull any of those stupid pranks to get my attention.
“You didn’t need to get my attention at all. You always had it. You always had me.”-(Andrea)

(Lucky Star)  Tommy and Charlotte: “I’m taller than you, so I’d make a fairly good human shield.”-(Tommy)
“Just promise me you’ll wait.”-(Tommy)
“I hate when you act like I’m your slow cousin. I’m a girl. It’s not a mental disorder.”-(Charlotte)
“Don’t be like that. I just couldn’t stand it if something happened to you.”-(Tommy)

(A New Tune)  Cian’s thoughts:  When Eliza’s ridiculously hot little sister started waiting tables last fall, The Brazen Head officially became his favorite venue.  Hell, the first time he’d seen Holly he’d told Jamie Whelan he’d play every night for the rest of the year for free if he’d help him get her number.

(A New Tune)  Cian’s thoughts on Holly:  The girl had always been a bit prickly, but since they’d kissed she was a fucking cactus.  She aggravated and charmed him at the same time, so he figured he’d have to marry her eventually.  In the meantime, he was gonna try for an actual date.

(A New Tune)  Holly’s thoughts on Cian:  He was filled to the brim with sweet words and sexy phrasings.  He’d perfected the act of the sensitive songwriter.  And he was going to have to use it on someone else.  Holly had seen it all before.

(Lexi’s Chance)  Sean’s thoughts on Lexi:  The look that said beneath the somewhat shy and troubled exterior, breathed a woman who could challenge him.  She was as passionate about life as he was.  He’d only caught glimpses of that look now and again over the weeks, but each and every time left him hungry for the next.

(Lexi’s Chance)  Lexi’s thoughts on Sean:  Did two completely different guys exist in that chiseled body?  Which one was real?  If it was the kind, sensitive philanthropic guy she’d been seeing shades of, why did he hide that face from the world?  What was wrong with being sweet?

(Drink Or Dare)  Killian and Rachel: “You’re really pretty, you know that?”-(Killian)
“When did you get to be so nice?”-(Rachel)
“You don’t really know me.”-(Killian)
“I think I’d like to get to know you.”-(Rachel)
“Same here.”-(Killian)

(Drink Or Dare)  Rachel’s thoughts on Killian:  He confused the hell out of her.  Hot, cold.  Teasing or not.  No matter what her head told her, her heart beat a little faster and she knew it wasn’t from the chaos that swelled around them.  It was all about the man in the Irish kilt.

(Drink Or Dare)  Rachel and Killian: “It takes about fifteen minutes to form a first impression about someone. You know what I thought the first five minutes I met you in Professor Conner’s class? I told myself I wanted to get to know you. There was something different about you.”-(Rachel)
“For real?”-(Killian)
“Yeah. But then you opened your mouth.”-(Rachel)
“Hey, you did too. But I like it. I like you-sassiness and all.”-(Killian)

Red Hill by Jamie McGuire 1

The Premise and
My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ all rolled into one:

‘Red Hill’ is a part of the New Adult genre and as the reader, you will find a great blend of dynamics in this story. The novel takes you almost immediately on a suspenseful journey that will pull at your emotions and leave you on the edge of your seat at different points from start to finish. Besides the fear of the walking dead people, somehow love finds a way to survive in the midst of the chaos and tragedies. You’ll see selfless heroism from people who never knew they had it in them until they had no choice.

The story is set with an apocalyptic backdrop where people lose their true selves once they are killed and reanimate into walking dead people who have one goal, to feed. You never know who or what is awaiting at each turn. And so the story begins by following three main characters named Scarlet, Nathan and Miranda. And as always, I’m happy to inform you that ‘us readers’ get to experience the story through three P.O.V.’s(Point of views), and see their individual stories’ of fighting to survive when the viral outbreak reaches their towns.

First off you have Scarlet, who is a nurse and the mother of thirteen year old Jenna and seven year old Halle. Scarlet’s ex-husband and the father of Jenna and Halle, Andrew,  planned to pick up the girls after school to stay with him for the weekend. On Scarlet’s drive to drop her daughters at school, the radio host announced news about the outbreak in Europe and using phrases such as ‘Cadavers’ and ‘herded’. Scarlet didn’t think much of it at the time. She had no idea that her life would change from that day forward and that there was a very high chance that she would never see her daughters again.

Her day at work begins normal as usual, working as a nurse in a busy hospital. Things in the story almost immediately begin to unravel as more and more people begin to pour into the hospital’s ER, suffering from some kind of extreme flu-like symptoms. Then there are a couple of patients brought in, one who was bitten by a drunk person and another who was bitten by her son. Soon after, things in the hospital go from zero to sixty from then on for Scarlet. Once the busy hospital becomes full-blown mayhem, the only thought in Scarlet’s mind is to get to her daughters and make sure they are safe.

Then you have Nathan, a husband and a father who basically lives his life for his daughter Zoe. His wife, Aubrey isn’t much of a mother or wife because of her obsession with the internet. Nathan did his best to make a life for his daughter even though deep down he wasn’t completely happy, except for the happiness his daughter brought him. His story begins when he hears the radio announcements about the outbreak in Europe, making it’s way onto American soil. He’s sitting in his car, waiting for his daughter to be let out of school and decides to run in with a few other parents to claim their children because of this news. After he picks up his daughter, they rush home to pick up his wife Aubrey only to find a sad surprise. Nathan now has one goal and that is to keep his daughter Zoe and himself alive in a world full of chaos and the fast growing number of walking dead people.

And lastly, you have Miranda who is taking a road trip with her sister Ashley, Ashley’s boyfriend Stanley Cooper and her longtime boyfriend Bryce up to her father’s place called Red Hill Ranch. It was going to be a weekend to unwind after college finals and a chance to work on the strained relationship with their doctor father who was now divorced from their mom. On their way up to Red Hill Ranch, they are worried by the frenzy of people running around and the announcements about the viral outbreak over the radio. Along the way they pick up a guy named Joey who was trying to survive just like the rest of them. They are determined to get to Red Hill Ranch a couple of towns away where Miranda and Ashley’s dad was going to meet them. Their drive to Red Hill Ranch becomes a scary adventure and they have no idea if they will make it there alive and together or become one of the walking dead people.

Miranda, Scarlet and Nathan’s lives will all be connected in one way or another on their journey of survival. Their lives cross paths leading them to one destination and the shared fact that they never really know if they will survive another day. I highly recommend this book because it makes you feel like you are there in the madness of ‘Red Hill.’ Author Jamie McGuire did a great job switching into a darker genre and I definitely look forward to more stories like this from her.

Scarlet’s thoughts: I know the world ended on a Friday. It was the last day I saw my children.

Nathan’s thoughts: More screams. Car horns honking. Gunfire. Jesus. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. It was here.

Miranda’s thoughts: A couple of times people screamed at me to stop, begged me to help them, but stopping always meant dying in the movies, and I was barely eighteen. I wasn’t sure how long we could survive, but I knew I wasn’t dying on day one of the fucking zombie apocalypse.

Scarlet’s thoughts: If it was the end of the world, I wanted to be holding my babies.

Nathan’s thoughts: I couldn’t shield her from this; hell was raining down all around us.

Nathan’s thoughts: I grabbed Zoe’s hand and shut the door behind us, hoping whatever was coming through the bedroom window would have trouble with doorknobs.

Miranda’s thoughts: We rode in silence for the next mile, but the second we were out of range Ashley began to sniff and whimper. We had left behind a massacre.

Nathan’s thoughts: The radio had been silent since we started our journey. I wondered if we would ever hear music again.

Scarlet’s thoughts: If the last year had taught me anything, it was that the end only led to one thing- a beginning.

Book Review! One Blogging Reader’s Review after Reading Waiting On The Sidelines by Ginger Scott.

Welcome to Books, Movies, Fandoms newest book review.
Title: Waiting On The Sidelines
Author: Ginger Scott
Series: Waiting On The Sidelines Series (two books)
Publisher: Self-Published.

The Premise of the story on goodreads:

Waiting on the Sidelines explores young love to its fullest, exposing how real young heartbreak and passion is and how important it is to discover yourself and hold onto your own identity. Ultimately, Waiting on the Sidelines is a story of hope, honesty and those powerful, first true loves–the ones worth holding onto at any cost.

My Blogging Review of Waiting On The Sidelines (book 1):

While I searched for the next good book to read I came across ‘Waiting On The Sidelines’. I added it to my ‘To Read’ list on which stayed there for about a week or two until I decided to give it a try. I purchased it at and instantly it arrived to my Kindle Fire. Once I started reading this story, I quickly came to the realization that this was not going to be your usual young-love story filled with fluff and a ‘hard-to-relate-to’ kind of romance. As you read how the relationship between Nolan and Reed develops, you can’t help but hope that they mature enough to realize their feelings are stronger than they actually convey to each other. While their relationship teeters on the fine line of growing into something more or possibly being destroyed beyond repair, you find yourself rooting for them even more.

This coming of age story takes you on a four year journey through the experiences of a young girl named Nolan Lennox, who was named after the ex-professional baseball player. Nolan prefers to wear sports shorts and tube socks instead of skirts and dresses. She grew up in a humble part of town but never really questioned her clothing style, the home she grew up in or herself until she started high school and met Reed.

Reed Johnson grew up as the son and younger brother of two former hometown football legends. His future seems set to follow in their footsteps and surpass them because of his natural talent in the game. He easily becomes a popular student because of his good-looks, his football status as well as the good grades he maintains.

We get to know Nolan as she experiences her high school years and begins an unexpected friendship with Reed. She delves into situations that make her face the insecurities she never knew she had. Nolan also faces obstacles such as bullying from an upperclassmen who begins to date Reed. Reed also deals with his own insecurities that seem to make him question who he wants to be versus the Reed that others expect him to be.

You will find yourself as the reader, cheering for Nolan to stand up for herself and become the strong person that lives beneath the surface hidden by her insecurities. This book absolutely touched me simply because the characters are well written and you can easily share in the emotions as they experience them.

Waiting On The Sidelines has become one of my all time favorite Top Five Coming-Of-Age love stories because of how well written it is and the story itself is so captivating. I’ll admit it, I’ve read this story more than once and fell in love with it more and more each time I read it.

Follow the paths that Nolan and Reed take towards self discovery, life lessons and first loves that aren’t always full of rainbows and butterflies in ‘Waiting On The Sidelines.’

Nolan: “I’m sure Tatum would love to show off for you. You and Sean should come to one of the Tuesday games when you’re out of practice early.”   Reed: “Yeah, we should. And she totally would – Tatum’s a star, that’s for sure. But if I go, I’m team Nolan.”

Reed to Nolan: “Stop it; you don’t know how to take a compliment. I mean it and I want you to hear me. You. Are. Beautiful.”

Reed:  “I know you think I don’t remember. I know you think I was probably too drunk, but it was the only moment of clarity I’ve had in months, Nolan. I love you. I meant it then, and I mean it now.”

Nolan: “Reed, the only thing that you ever did to let me down was give up on us. I love you, and I’d love you if you were a biology major without an inkling of athletic talent, I swear.” 🙂

Going Long Waiting On The Sidelines 2 by Ginger Scott

Review for Book 2- Going Long: Waiting On The Sidelines 2.

Here is Blogging Reader’s Review of the second installment of the Waiting On The Sidelines series.

Title: Going Long: Waiting On The Sidelines 2
Author: Ginger Scott
Series: Waiting On The Sidelines Series (two books)
Publisher: Self-Published.

We kept the spoilers to a minimum while giving our blogger’s perspective on the book itself. Nothing major was spoken about.

Going Long – released: October 1st, 2013.

My Blogging Review of Going Long: Waiting On The Sidelines 2:

I was given the fabulous opportunity to read an advanced copy of Going Long: Waiting On The Sidelines book 2, thanks to the wonderful author Ginger Scott. I will be honest, I was giddy with excitement like a schoolgirl because I was in love with the first ‘Waiting On The Sidelines’ book and I had a strong feeling that Ginger Scott would not let us down in book 2. I’m happy to say my feelings were correct!:)

In most love stories we go through the story wanting to see the couple come together even though they usually end up spending most of the story apart. Then there is always the big ending where they discover what has always been there and they kiss and the story ends there. I’m happy to say that we got that at the end of the first book of ‘Waiting On The Sidelines’ but we were lucky enough to have a smart author who knew it just wasn’t enough. Which brings us to the second and final book of this series where we get see how things go for our beloved couple.

Going Long continues where the coming of age love story between simple girl, Nolan Lennox and the local football star, Reed Johnson leaves off. The first book was written only in Nolan’s P.O.V. (Point Of view) but in the second book ‘Going Long’, we get to hear the story from both Reed and Nolan’s P.O.V.’s.:)

Nolan and Reed are in love. There is no doubt and no question about it. They are both Juniors at their respective universities and have managed to make their long distance relationship work through most of their college years while attending separate schools hours apart. Life is busy for the both of them. Nolan and Reed’s relationship is going strong but there is one thing that is bringing their future into question. Reed begins to consider taking the opportunity to enter the draft for professional football sooner rather than later. With something so huge looming, it made Nolan do what she always did when things scared her, she shut down.

There are a few large twists and turns in ‘Going Long’ that make them question their relationship and makes them wonder if they even have a future together despite still loving each other. They find themselves wondering if love is enough?

To name a few things without giving away actual spoilers, Nolan and Reed both have goals they want to reach for in regards to their careers. Nolan’s hours at school are pretty hectic because she wants to finish school so she can pursue her career. Reed wants to take his chance to advance in his football career before his chance passes him by. In ‘Going Long’ one of them is faced with a temptation during an emotional low point and there is a secret that snowballs between Reed and Nolan. The secret is so big that it will change them forever.  But don’t fret, author Ginger Scott concluded this epic love story in a very fitting and touching way. You won’t be disappointed.

Nolan’s thoughts: Reed was pleading with me. I wanted to be open to his needs, but the weight of my secret and the thought of having to make decisions and bring my news out for his mother’s judgement repulsed me.

Reed’s thoughts:  For the first time in months, I wanted to drink. No, fuck that. I wanted to get ripped and forget fucking everything.

Reed: “Dad, I will never love anyone like I love Nolan, and you know it.”

Reed:  “I’ll find a way to help the woman I love on my own. I’m sorry that I ever thought I could count on you.”

Nolan:  “When they interview you after the announcement, if you can work the word ‘coconut’ into your response, I will spend tonight in your room.”

Reed: “I’ve learned that sometimes love is hard. Life makes love hard, constantly pushing against you and finding things to throw in your way. And sometimes those things knock you down.  But then you get up. You get up, because that person, the one you love more than anything on earth… well, putting it bluntly, like my father taught me, they make getting your ass knocked down worth the trouble.”
