The Synopsis:

Since one fateful evening at a nightclub, Kenzie Swanson and Sawyer Lennar have shared an undeniable attraction. They’ve had moments where they couldn’t ignore their desires, succumbing to their needs, and Sawyer has marked Kenzie in a way that no other man can.

But there is one problem that continues to keep them apart.

As a cat-shifter with a traumatic past, Sawyer hates humans—and Kenzie is all human.

Sawyer’s hatred pushes Kenzie away, and they try to maintain their distance from each other—until they are mistakenly kidnapped and have to act as a couple. When the unforeseen happens, Kenzie can only do so much to deny herself from being intimate with Sawyer.

Given a chance at what might have been, Sawyer and Kenzie are forced to face the forbidden temptation to be with one another.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading ‘FORBIDDEN TEMPTATION (Forbidden Series book #3)’:

*May contain Spoilers if you haven’t read the other novels of the Forbidden Series yet.*

This review is based on the third novel of the Forbidden Series titled: Forbidden Temptation by R. L. Kenderson. This series is one of my favorites and I was very excited to be able to read and share my honest review for. This novel continues the storyline that follows an entertaining assortment of characters that I absolutely either find interesting or enticing or a mixture of both. Readers will get a story that flows smoothly, even though each book focuses on a few possible character couples and relationships. As I’ve said in the past about this series, it’s hard to give a truly fulfilling description of this story and the characters without giving away a few spoilers but I’ll try not to ruin anything for you. The story contains humans, vampires and two types of “shifters”.

For those like me who enjoy multiple P.O.V.’s(point of views) in a story, this one continues with multiple views. In fact, there are six P.O.V.’s from: Kenzie Swanson(Human-Best friend to Naya), Sentinel Shifter Sawyer Lennar(Shifter-Best friend to Vaughn), Sentinel Shifter Phoenix Kaplan, Guardian Dante Leonidas(Vampire), Sentinel Shifter Saxon Einar(Shifter), and Guardian Lexine Harlow(Vampire).

A couple of situations went bad at the end of the second novel in this series. People were shot, a couple of people were kidnapped and the enemy fled before capture. Now that things are more or less calmer, everyone is hunting the enemy, Gerald. He’s a ‘Shifter’ who has betrayed his own kind for power and to get the woman that belongs to another. While all of that was going on, Kenzie and Sawyer were kidnapped after being mistaken for their best friends who are both the children of vampire royalty and a ‘Shifter’ leader. Will Kenzie and Sawyer be able to escape or will they be caught before they can get away? To add to the stress of the situation, Sawyer suffers from amnesia due to a head injury and being drugged by the kidnappers, leaving Kenzie to try and keep them safe. What will happen with these two when Sawyer can’t remember his dislike for humans and for Kenzie, and instead, seems to be drawn to her. You’ll find out in this novel.

The ‘Shifter’ enemy Gerald who isn’t afraid to bring harm to anyone, even his own extended family members, is on the run. An unusual union between the two kinds of ‘Shifters’ and the Vampires has occurred do to their mutual enemy and the need to track him down. When he kidnapped Shifter Phoenix, she is worried that he will do things that will destroy her inside because of the secrets of her past that have made her so fragile inside. She’s been a strong women since then but being the control of an aggressive and evil person leaves her hoping that her fellow Sentinels will find them before he truly harms her. All she can think about to calm her nerves is Dante. He’s a Vampire Guardian but there is some kind of strong attraction that keeps him on her mind. He makes her feel safe, which is something she hasn’t felt in so long with anyone else. Biggest issues is will they find her in time?

Another Vampire Guardian named Lexine Harlow has been carrying a long-time crush on fellow Guardian Dante but since the Shifter Phoenix has been around, she feels jealous. She wants Dante to notice her and forget about the Shifter but it’s not always so easy to get your way. She makes a few new friends but something about this group of new friends seems a little questionable. When you read this novel, you may get that same feeling. Something tells me we haven’t read the last of Lexine or who new group of friends who aren’t very happy with the new intermingling between Shifters and Vampires.

This series continues to be so different and entertaining with the many interesting facets in this story that it never gets boring. There are so many amazing characters and their compelling story-lines. You get an intriguing amount of steamy scenes, with a sci-fi feel but not at all in a bad or overplayed way. This story is so riveting and absolutely entertaining because of the sexy moments, romantic bonds, and the non-stop suspense. The characters continue to keep me engaged into their individual story lines which readers may actually love. If you’re read the previous novels in this series then I have to say you won’t be disappointed to finally read “Kenzie and Sawyer’s” story! This story is full of strong female characters and sexy Alpha-males. I highly recommend this novel and this series! 😉

Reader Warning: The story contains sexual content, sexual-language at times and mature situations.  Recommended for readers – ages 18+.

MEMORABLE QUOTES & LINES FROM ‘FORBIDDEN HEAT’

Kenzie and (Amnesia)Sawyer:  “You get where we stand? You understand now that I’m not your mate?”
Sawyer shook his head and pulled her closed. He leaned down and put his mouth next to her ear. “I heard every word you said, and I believe you, but I also know what my nose, my body, and my instincts are telling me. Shifters don’t just go around marking anyone and everyone. They mark their mates. So, while it seems like I might have had my head up my ass, I don’t anymore.”

Dante’s thoughts:  Just because she had let him heal her didn’t mean she would ever let him near them again. Besides, he didn’t need to go near them. Getting involved with that she-cat was a complication neither of them wanted or needed. He had a group of vampires to lead, and despite what had just happened in that bedroom, Phoenix was closed off and cold. Yes, it would be better to just forget that had ever happened.

Kenzie’s thoughts:  Sawyer’s amnesia was her metaphoric guardian angel. This was the only opportunity she was ever going to get to be with Sawyer, and even if it only lasted for one day, at least she wouldn’t have sat back and wasted it. Yeah, he might hate her once he regained his memory, but the Memory Sawyer already did, so she would be no worse off there. As long as she protected her heart, everything would go back to the way it was before.

Dante and Phoenix:  “Look, Phoenix, I thought we were friends, and I just wanted to make sure you were okay.”
She sidestepped him. “Yes. Friends. Sorry I didn’t answer your messages. I’m fine though. I’m just going to grab my things and get going.”
She turned the knob as Dante said, “Phoenix.”
“Yes?” she said but didn’t turn around.
“I’m sorry.”
Sorry? “Whatever for? You have nothing to be sorry for.” Because the blame was all on her. She pushed the door open and stepped inside. Despite the crowd of people, she’d never felt so alone in her entire life.

Author Jennifer L. Armentrout: Novels Optioned To Be A Motion Picture and TV Show!

Book to Movie… and Possible Television Show Adaptations! Read on…

How many authors can say that they have best-selling hit novels  and now may possibly have a motion picture as well as a television show based off of those hit books at the same time? Not a whole lot of them.

We have some awesome news about a hit book-series that has recently been optioned to become a television series by. This book series is non-other than Covenant by # 1 New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Jennifer L. Armentrout (J.Lynn).

NOTE: View the UPDATES section below for all current updated news! 🙂

Jennifer Armentrout

Straight from the author herself:
“All the way back in March of 2013, I got an email titled “Covenant Series” and I quickly read through it. It was from a production company interested in the Covenant Series. Like seriously interested and I was all like Authors get these kind of emails all the time. Weeks turned into Months and then in June, after I’d gotten the call about the Obsidian movie deal, I get a call from Brandy (film/TV agent Brandy Rivers), telling me she needed to get me on the phone the next day with the production company. The one that had expressed interest in the Covenant Series back in March.

Half-Blood Covenant Series Jennifer L. Armentrout

About ‘Half-Blood of the Covenant Series:
The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she’s crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn’t her biggest problem–staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

Covenant Series optioned to: Norton Herrek by Herrek Entertainment.

As many have heard already, Jennifer L. Armentrout has also had other great news regarding another one of her book series’. Her Lux Series’ first novel titled Obsidian has been optioned to be a motion picture earlier this year(2013) as well.

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

About Obsidian of The Lux Series:
Starting over sucks. When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Optioned for Film by: Kelly McCormick in association with Sierra Affinity Productions.
