______

My ‘Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review’ after reading ‘A THOUSAND BOY KISSES’ by Tillie Cole:

This is the latest novel by the amazingly-fabulous author Tillie Cole. This novel is titled “A Thousand Boy Kisses” and it can fall under a Young Adult and New Adult book, but primarily should be listed as a brilliant Contemporary Romance novel. This one is by far one of my new favorites! It received the rating it has because the depths it reaches are astronomical in the romance charts. A Thousand Boy Kisses is written in the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views), Rune Erik Kristiansen and Poppy “Poppymin” Litchfield.

When young 5 year old Rune Erik Kristiansen first learns of his family’s move to America, he doesn’t understand it completely and really hates the idea of leaving his home in Norway. When he meets his new neighbor in Georgia, he quickly finds himself not hating his new home so much anymore. Now that he made a new best friend in the upbeat neighbor-girl named Poppy with her unique personality and that interesting white bow in her hair.

Since Poppy Litchfield was a child, even before meeting Rune, she had always been an adventurous and spirited child. Upon meeting her new neighbor Rune, she finds a partner and long-lasting friendship that seems strong enough to stand against the test of time. But not everything works out the way we’d hope for in life sometimes. When someone near and dear to her, gives her a jar with one-thousand hearts and tells her to have a long adventure living and collecting one-thousand memorable kisses, she doesn’t hesitate to begin her journey.

In this heartfelt, deeply-emotional, and passionately-touching story, we see that not everything is predictable and doesn’t go as expected when it comes to life. Sometimes we find ourselves doing things for others that they may not always understand, when love and heartbreak are involved, even if it comes from a good place. Will Poppy and Rune be able to hold onto what they share with the promise of “infinity, forever and always?” Or will time tear them apart? And can you truly and wholeheartedly promise yourself to one person for the rest of your life?

As per request of this amazing author, to respect the storyline of this beautifully written novel, and to make sure other readers get the chance to be enchanted by the emotional journey this story promises, I will keep my review as spoiler free as I can. The story of Rune and Poppy is such a wondrous tearjerker, breathtaking contemporary romance, that will touch your soul in such a substantially-intense way. I highly recommend this novel completely! This is only the second novel that I’ve rated a perfect 5 star rating! It’s that remarkable. “A Thousand Boy Kisses” is perfection and Tillie has gone above and beyond. Be ready with the tissue and for the feelings you will strongly experience reading this. It’s so worth a read! Make sure you get this one today! ❤

MEMORABLE QUOTES & LINES FROM ‘A THOUSAND BOY KISSES’

Rune’s thoughts:  I liked her laugh and I liked the big white bow in her hair.
Maybe Georgia won’t be so bad after all, I thought, not if I have Poppy Litchfield as my very best friend.
And that was Poppy and me from that day on.
Poppy and Rune.
Best friends for infinity.
Or so I thought.
Funny how things change.

Poppy and Rune as young children:  “When the boy I love kisses me, when it feels so special that my heart might almost burst-only the extra-special kisses- I’m to write the details down on one of these hearts.”
“You’re my best friend, I don’t want you to kiss boys!”
“But I have to. I have to for my adventure. A thousand kisses is a lot, Rune. A lot! You’d still be my best friend. No one will ever mean more to me than you, silly thing.”
Poppymin! It means my Poppy. For infinity, forever and always. You’re MY Poppy!”

Poppy:  “Kiss number three hundred and fifty-four. With my Rune, in the blossom grove… and my heart almost burst.”

Rune and Poppy:  She was like a bird: at its most beautiful when flying free.
“Can you feel it, Rune?” she asked, her eyes still closed as she soaked up the warming sun.
“What?” I asked, finding my voice.
“Life!” she called, laughing harder as the wind changed direction, almost knocking her off her feet.

Poppy to Rune:  “When I look at you, when you touch me, when I see your face… when we kiss, my heart plays a song. It sings that it needs you like I need air. It sings to me that I adore you. It sings that I’ve found its perfect missing part.”

Poppy’s thoughts:  Because I didn’t need grand gestures or fairy tales; a normal life with the boy I loved would have always been enough. Even in this moment, it was worth everything.

Poppy’s thoughts:  When Rune pulled back and stared into my eyes, I knew that this kiss would be handwritten on a pink paper heart with more devotion than any of those that had gone before.
Kiss eight hundred and nineteen was the kiss that changed it all. The kiss that proved that a long-haired brooding boy from Norway and a quirky girl from the Deep South could find a love to rival the greats.

⭐★⭐

The Synopsis for ‘Wicked Restless’:

Andrew Harper grew up in a house marked by tragedy. His older brother Owen did his best to shelter him, but you can only be protected from life’s pain for so long. Eventually, you end up just feeling numb…and isolated.

Loneliness was the one constant in Andrew’s life. Until one girl, met by chance in a high school hallway, changed everything. Emma Burke was a mystery and all that was beautiful in this world, the only air Andrew ever wanted to breathe. She took the lonely away, and filled it with hope and color, and Andrew would do anything to keep her safe, happy and whole.

But sometimes, what feels good and right is what ends up hurting us the most. And when Andrew and Emma are faced with an impossible decision, Andrew is tested to see just how far he’s willing to go for the girl who owns his heart.

Cuts are deep.

Scars are left behind.

And revenge beckons.

When Andrew finally gets his chance, in college, five years after his first love broke him completely, he finds out old feelings don’t really disappear just because you say you hate someone. The more he tries to avenge all that he believes he lost, the more he uncovers the real story of what happened years before.

Love is wicked. But a restless heart is never satisfied beating on its own. Can Andrew and Emma make it right before it’s too late, or will the ties that bind them now destroy their only chance at a future?

My ‘Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review’ for ‘Wicked Restless’ by Ginger Scott:

This is my review for the second novel of the Harper Boys Series by Author Ginger Scott titled Wicked Restless. I was given the opportunity to read and review this New Adult, contemporary romance story about the younger brother of Owen(from book 1 “Wild Restless”)named Andrew and Emma, whom he meets one day. From that day forward, their lives are changed in so many ways as the years progress. Wicked Restless is written in the two main-character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views) from Andrew Harper and Emma Burke.

Andrew Harper is a very smart teenager, with a good sense of humor, and the possibility of having a bright future. Unfortunately, he carries the burden of being a Harper and the baggage that comes from that name due to his late father and older brother James who lived a troubled life. His older brother Owen, lived up to that bad reputation in some ways, that was until he met the girl who changed his view on life. Andrew adores Owen’s girlfriend Kensington and is close friends with her. He looks forward to one day meeting someone for himself but being a Harper makes that hard to do in such a small town, where everyone knows everyone and gossip runs wild. He’s handsome enough with his tall height, dark hair and fun personality. So when he meets the new girl in town, he can’t help but be smitten by her and he can’t ignore their connection. His only worry is what she will think of him after she hears the stories about his family from the locals in town.

Emma Burke is new to the small town of Woodstock from Delaware and doesn’t know anyone in town. She’s carrying her own secret and doesn’t want to share about it or to be treated differently because of it. When she meets Andrew, she quickly finds herself enjoying his company, as little as it is at first. When Emma and Andrew get to interact with each other more, they quickly begin to develop a genuine friendship. When they go out one night, things suddenly take a turn in the wrong direction and what unfolds begins a long road of uncertainty for their future in each others lives.

Andrew finds himself sent for a year to a reform school but the reason he’s there is because of a lie but it was a lie he told to protect the girl that was beginning to steal his heart away, Emma. But as the days, weeks and months begin to pass with no word from her, while dealing with the dark and ugly lifestyle inside this reform school, he begins to lose hope. He’d hoped Emma would write him back or visit him but she simply disappeared from his life with no word, not even a simple “thank you.” This causes the caring and fun Andrew to become harder and bitter as the time passes. The sweet boy who opens doors and was respectful, was slowly fading away because of the terrible things he had to endure also because of the girl who seemed to have forgotten him so easily.

As the story continues, it follows them up until five years later in their lives after the ordeal that changed the direction of their lives. Why did Emma never write Andrew back or even make contact with him somehow? What did Andrew do to make sure he could make it in a place he never deserved to be at to begin with? How are Emma and Andrew’s lives now as adults? What will happen when their paths cross again five years later once again, will it be a bitter reunion or an instant connection again? Wicked Restless is such a beautifully crafted story about young love and the influence of bad gossip and lies. My heart was rooting for Andrew because he is such a sweet and wonderful guy that deserves to have someone who truly cares about him and accepts who he really is without judging him for his name. Emma is dealing with her own issue that causes her parents to be extra cautious with her, which in turn made them want to protect her more than they probably really needed to. This novel truly invokes a whirl-wind of emotions, and is so amazing and mind-blowing, especially to see their lives progress after beginning something together so innocent and sweet as it transforms into something more intense and deep. This is definitely worth reading! Great series and awesome book. I do recommend this one for sure. You should absolutely add this novel and series to your “Must Read” list today! 🙂

The Synopsis:

The second installment in the Only series. Must read book one first!!

First loves never die but Grayson Ford comes close. Bleeding out in a war zone, he barters with God. Bring him back alive, and he’ll make it right with his girl.

*All I want is Emma. I need her, and I fight for her memory. A story. A smile. Anything. But it’s all blank.*

Emma is not his girl anymore. Time has skipped by and life’s been hard. She strips to pay the bills, waitresses to fill the hours between classes and her third job. All while working to be the best mama she can be to the little girl who will never know her daddy. Even though Grayson abandoned her, she mourned his death. Until he calls, and everything she knew was wrong.

*It’s him. The him that ruined my life. That made my life. That confused my mind to the point that I can’t figure out if I’ve been destroyed or set free. The him that… is… dead.*

He’s back with one objective—Emma Kingsley—and she never sees it coming.

Only for Her, Only #2
The novella series will release in its entirety this spring.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading ‘ONLY FOR HER’:

***WARNING: Possible SPOILERS if you haven’t read the previous Novella of the Only Series.***

This is the 2nd installment titled “Only For Her” of a four part novella series by Cristin Harber. After having the chance to read and review the first novella of this series, I was hooked.  “Only For Her” is of the New Adult genre and is a Contemporary Romance story that continues to follow the now adult characters Emma and Grayson. This novella is written in the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views), Grayson Ford and Emma Kingsley.

He is dead. Those words were enough to rip her heart open as soon as she heard the news going around town about Grayson Ford, her former best friend and the one guy she’s ever loved completely. She’s only ever loved him since they were kids and now he was gone but she needs to confirm it. She can’t believe it because rumors sometimes are just that, rumors and not true. She continues her busy schedule of taking classes, working three jobs and tending to her most important responsibility, the reason that drives her each day, raising her two year-old daughter Cally. Her twin brother Ryan has been protective of his sister ever since his best friend abandoned his sister with no word to anyone. Emma is determined to do it on her own and so far she has been struggling but doing it. When she receives an unexpected call, her world is sent into an emotional tailspin.

Grayson Ford should be dead. All of his fellow brothers that served along side him all died but he lived. How? Why? Was it his plea to God to live so he could make things right with the one girl he’s ever loved? Maybe. He’s alive but he’s not the same. The him from before is dead but the broken, tormented and determined him is set on finding Emma and fixing everything he ruined the day he left without a word.  She’s all he’s ever thought about and he needs to ask for her forgiveness for running away. He doesn’t know where she is but he heads to the last place he left her and the last place he wants to ever return to.

Will Grayson be able to find Emma? Will Emma be willing to forgive Grayson or has that bridge been burned for good? Can the past be forgiven or has it been destroyed? This novella was such an amazing sequel in the Only Series. The story continues to be so captivating, with enjoyable characters, and a storyline that is mesmerizing as well as emotionally consuming. Grayson is darker and the alpha-male in him is more prominent now as an adult. He was book-boyfriend crush-able before but now he is absolutely alluring and irresistible. I highly recommend this novella and this series. The third installment “Only For Us” will be coming out very soon so be on the look-out for that one. I’m so ready to see where author Cristin Harber takes us as we follow the breath-taking story of Emma and Grayson. Heads Up: These novellas each end with a cliff-hanger feel to them but don’t worry. These novellas are coming out not that far apart so the wait is not long and definitely worth it! Loved this!  You should positively pick up these novellas. You won’t be disappointed!

MEMORABLE QUOTES & LINES FROM ‘ONLY FOR HER’

Grayson’s thoughts:  Nothing changes. I fall away from the edge of waking into the hell that I deserve. The only thing that could ever save me was Emma’s voice, and I’ve lost that forever.

Cally and Emma:  “Mommy.” She buries her head into my shoulder as we head toward the parking lot. “I wanna go to sleep. Story?”
Oh… I sigh. “Sure thing, snugglebug.” A story makes her bad day go away.
My heart squeezes. Like daddy, like daughter.

Grayson’s thoughts:  I had begged God to let me make it right. To stay alive and see my girl. A desperate shudder runs through me. It’s too late. It has to be. It’s been three fuckin’ years since I last saw her. They’ve been hell. I bitched out on a shot at love, at happiness. She’s not my girl. Not anymore.

Emma’s thoughts:  No one calls me Ems. No one but Grayson Ford. The boy I dream of, the man I dance for, the reason I’m still living, and the source of all my desperation. My throat tightens to the point that I think I’m going to choke, and an intense pounding in my chest finds its way to my ears. There is no way I just heard what I did.

Emma’s thoughts:  Maybe it’ll be better if he stays the unrequited dream-come-true that I dance for every Wednesday. At least that way, I’ll never know what it’s like to be devastated twice in a lifetime.

Emma and Grayson:  I’ve never stopped loving him.
“I’ve hardened. I’m… broken. Haunted. But I never stopped needing you.”
Shivers roll through me. “Oh.”
“And I’m back with one mission. You.”

Grayson’s thoughts: It’s not a kiss. More of a claim. This woman is mine. I’ll beg and plead, do whatever it takes. I’ve been wrong. Been scared. Been a motherfuckin ’ fool. The answer to my problems has always been right here, with her.

My father was the leader of a protection racket; a criminal group that uses violence to ensure our clients won’t be harmed or robbed, and that their businesses will remain protected. What we do isn’t legal, but it’s the way we’ve lived for many years now.

Memphis Reed—my father—was formidable. He was a man people both respected and feared. He taught me everything he knew, and when he died I was left in charge.

Before his death, a battle was brewing on the streets. Lies were told, deceptions were made, and people were killed. People we thought we knew changed, relationships and friendships were torn apart, and loyalties were questioned. After his death, a full on war is raging, and Roman Rios—a man we now know we can’t trust—wants to move in on our business.

With me now being the leader of nine men, it’s up to me to protect them from Roman and his own crew of ruthless criminals. I’ll do whatever’s necessary to keep my business my own and protect everything my father worked for. Even if I have to go up against Xavier Delgado. Roman’s number two. A man with no heart and a black soul. A man Roman trained to be as vicious and cold-blooded as he is. A man who once upon a time I thought I was in love with.

Yes, I’m a she. My name is Chevelley Reed, and all’s fair in love and war.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review’ for ‘WAR’ by Isabel Lucero:

This review is for the new novel simply titled “War” by author Isabel Lucero. “War” is not this author’s first novel but it is her first in this kind of storyline with darker elements to it. The story delves into the fascinating, dark and violent-criminal world where enemies will do anything to rule everything and everyone they can. Readers will get to follow this story through the main female character Chevelley Reed’s P.O.V.(point of view).

Chevelley Reed is the beautiful daughter of Memphis Reed, who started his own illegal protection racket business. Chevelley “Chelle” was taught and raised to know the business inside and out. Upon the death of her father, she gains the seat of leader and runs the business with nine others who follow her orders. When the head of a local crew decides that he wants in on Chelle’s territory, her leadership and business is put to the test.

Roman Rios is the leader of another organization that deals in illegal dealings in the same city as the Reed’s. When he decides to move his business into the area Chevelley’s crew protects, this causes tension between the two crews. Roman’s only offer is to join forces and be a part of the same dealings but Chelle and her guys want no part of it. The tension becomes heightened and a war between the two crews seems inevitable.

There’s one other problem that Chelle has to face when dealing with Roman’s crew and his name is Xavier Delgado, Roman’s 2nd in command. This man is fierce, dangerous and has a complex history with Chelle that left her years before feeling so confused and hurt. When Chelle and Xavier met when she was a teenager, the attraction was strong but short lived. After they reunite and get to know each other better, life seems to be going good between two people a part of such a dark lifestyle. When that violent life touches them, things are changed so much. Xavier changes even more.

Violence is hard to escape and people will die. But who? The story is entertaining from page to page in this book. I felt enthralled into this dark lifestyle with a strong female leading character who has to be in charge but still has to deal with emotions and heartbreak. She does it well which adds to the awesomeness of this story. The rest of the characters are also quite enjoyable and alpha-sexy. This has tons of suspense, drama and romance that all plays out in such an instrumental way. I recommend this if you like a good story with dark and sexy elements to it. Check this one out readers! 🙂

MEMORABLE QUOTES & LINES FROM ‘WAR′

Chevelley’s thoughts:  Xavier fucking Delgado.
Roman’s number two.
He’s twisted. He’s vicious. He’s terrifying.
And once upon a time, I thought I loved him.

Diego and Veronica: “I’m afraid of losing my father, and I’m afraid of losing you. So, not only do I have to watch my back, I have to watch yours, too.”
“You don’t have to watch mine. I got it covered, and I have plenty of other guys who are willing to protect me as well.”
He grins at me. “I’ll always watch your back, no matter how many other people vow to protect you, and no matter how confident you believe yourself to be. I know without a shadow of a doubt, that I’ll be the one to keep you safe.”

Xavier and Chevelley:  “I know you aren’t naive, but I also know you have an innocence to you. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, but it’s the truth. Is it not?”
“What are you getting at?”
“What I’m getting at is…I want to steal that innocence from you. I want it to be mine.”

Chevelley’s thoughts: Xavier worships my body in a way I didn’t know possible. I know I have nothing to compare this experience to, but there’s no way anybody can do it like Xavier does.

Xavier to Chevelley: “We belong together, Chevelley. You are mine and I am yours… survived lies, deceit, and bloodshed, but all’s fair in love and war, and everything that was done was done in an effort to keep you in my life. There’s no way that was for nothing.”

Only For Him by Cristin Harber

The Synopsis:

Grayson Ford and Emma Kinglsey—close since they were kids, opposites in every way. He’s the stuff high school crushes are made of, Mister Popular, and captain of every team. She’s artsy, cute, and not in his league, though fully aware of Summerland’s “I Dream of Dating Grayson Ford” support group.

I can’t say no. The girl’s had my heart since before I knew it went missing.

He hides a life of hell. His father hates him, his mother’s gone. Emma is his only savior, yet she doesn’t know her power over him. She’s the only girl he wants, the only one he could ever tell—though he won’t.

I’m stronger, bigger, more of a man than he’ll ever be, but because I ruined his life, I’ve taken his crap, his attacks, the vulgar nature of his existence.

Until she discovers Gray’s embarrassment, his humiliation. Emma fights for him, for a chance. Theirs is a Cinderella story that she believes impossible. But as the layers peel back, it’s just a guy who needs a girl in order to keep breathing.

My mind is already doodling Mrs. Grayson Ford in imaginary notebooks. He has no clue where my head is at… But, given that I didn’t see what just happened coming, maybe I have no clue where his head is at either.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading ‘ONLY FOR HIM’:

This is the first novella titled “Only For Him” of a four part series by Cristin Harber. I’ve never read any previous work from this author but I am now a new fan of her work because of this story. “Only For Him” is of the New Adult genre and is a Contemporary Romance story with plenty of romantic and emotionally high points. This novella is written from the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views), Grayson Ford and Emma Kingsley.

Grayson Ford lives with only his father “Pops” in a trailer on the other side of town from where he attends high school. His relationship with his father is definitely not a good or healthy one. Bruises, beatings, and verbal put-downs are a regular occurrence and Grayson just takes it because he carries some sort of guilt that stems from his mother. At school, Gray is a talented athlete, swooned and adored by the girls, and popular. He seems very confident and outgoing to everyone around him but he carries very dark secrets from everyone, including his closest friends, Ryan and Emma Kingsley. Grayson has a heart full of secrets because another secret he’s held onto through the years has been how strongly he has feelings for Emma. She is the one girl that brings peace to his life and the one that keeps his mind right through all of the dark days that he’s had to endure in private.

Emma Kingsley is only eleven months younger than her well-liked brother Ryan Kingsley, which has made them close and they tend to hang around at the same parties and have mutual friends. Emma is the opposite of her brother, where he is well-dressed and popular, Emma is an artsy-casual girl. Their mutual best friend, Grayson has always been around since they were kids and is the one guy, other than her brother, that her family trusts so much.  The only thing is that Emma has kept a secret from Grayson through the years and that is the secret long-time crush she’s had for him. Is it ever a right time to tell someone your true feelings for them and is it harder to do with someone you’d hate to risk losing?

When senior year arrives, things are going the same between these two and their close friendship. Even though there is always a flurry of girls that chase him everyday, he somehow always seems to make sure to notice Emma. Then they decide to change things up.  One day, one kiss. And it changes everything. “No more stories. That’s all I’ve ever needed.” That is what he says to her which is such a turning point in the story. But as soon as they begin to open up about their feelings for each other, Gray’s dark truth is revealed. Grayson feels angry and embarrassed. He makes a decision about his future that would send his life down an entirely unexpected road. Knowing that both of their lives are headed down unpredictable paths toward the future, they decide to live it up on a fun-last vacation with friends toward the end of their senior year. This week long vacation would become a major turning point to both of their futures.

To say that this was not even a full-length novel and simply a novella, really says a lot about the story because it pulled me in. The characters were enjoyable and the storyline had pretty much most of the topics I enjoy reading about in my personal opinion. You get the first love, the feel of an unrequited love, a smidge of alpha-male persona, and a few other things that I won’t list because it would give away too much about the actual story. 🙂 Will Grayson let Emma know how much she means to him? Will Emma confess her feelings to Grayson? Are these two meant to be together or will life rip them apart? Can dark secrets ruin what could become something beautiful?

There is so much in this novella that makes it all together amazing, captivating and entertaining. This is definitely worth the read, I recommend it. I’m very anxious to get my hands on what’s next in this series. Heads Up: It ends on a major Cliff-hanger BUT the story is well worth it! That final sentence left me “mind blown!” Loved it all. The next novella of this series is out very soon. So check it out!

MEMORABLE QUOTES & LINES FROM ‘ONLY FOR HIM’

Grayson’s thoughts:  I torture myself by staying under his roof, knowing he’s the most pathetic, ruined man I’d ever met. But I made him that way, and as fucked up as it sounds, it’s the only way I think he’ll survive. I owe him that much. Long ago, Pops was normal… I was normal… Mom was alive.

Emma’s thoughts:  I focus on our friendship, our closeness. It’s been the only way I can justify the homicidal tendencies that provoke my inner ninja warrior chick every single time I see some bippy-boppy, cliquey bitch succeed in getting his attention.

Emma’s thoughts:  I can’t drink around Grayson for fear that I’ll do something stupid. And I like being their sober option because I’m pretty much their only option, and that guarantees me more time with him. I’m a Grayson Ford addict. No one would blame me though, and I’m pretty sure there’s an I Dream of Gray support group at school.

Grayson’s thoughts:  I’m trying not to bed, trying not to run, needing to touch her, taste her. But I let her words run through my head. Even if I can’t offer Emma anything that she deserves, I can’t say no. The girl’s had my heart since before I knew it went missing.

Grayson and Emma:  His eyes bore into me, removing every vulnerable layer I have. “You’re all that’s right in my head. You get that?”
No. Not a chance. “I’m whatever you need.”
He nods. His lips dance over mine. He tastes so familiar, smells like my greatest weakness. How does he have the whole world fooled?
“Emma, no joke. If I didn’t have you, I’d-” He shakes his head. “I need you, always have, in a way you’ll never know.”

BOOK: COVER REVEAL and Author Q&A! ‘This Is Falling’ by Ginger Scott

New! Q&A with Author Ginger Scott and COVER REVEAL for the upcoming novel titled:
‘THIS IS FALLING’ by Author Ginger Scott.

This Is Falling by Ginger Scott

📚

Synopsis for ‘THIS IS FALLING’:

First, I had to remember how to breathe. Then, I had to learn how to survive. Two years, three months and sixteen days had passed since I was the Rowe Stanton from before, since tragedy stole my youth and my heart went along with it.

When I left for college, I put a thousand miles between my future and my past. I’d made a choice—I was going to cross back to the other side, to live with the living. I just didn’t know how.

And then I met Nate Preeter.

An All-American baseball player, Nate wasn’t supposed to notice a ghost-of-a-girl like me. But he did. He shouldn’t want to know my name. But he did. And when he learned my secret and saw the scars it left behind, he was supposed to run. But he didn’t.

My heart was dead, and I was never supposed to belong to anyone. But Nate Preeter had me feeling, and he made me want to be his. He showed me everything I was missing.

And then he showed me how to fall.

📚

Author Q&A with Ginger Scott

Thank you to Author Ginger Scott for taking a moment to do a 2nd Q&A with me in preparation for your upcoming novel release of ‘THIS IS FALLING.’

Q: What can you share with us about your upcoming novel ‘This Is Falling’, beyond what the synopsis offers?

Ginger Scott:  I really think ‘Waiting’ fans are going to love ‘This Is Falling.’ I was craving writing a college story, and I love all of the newness that comes with a freshman year. College is like boot camp for becoming an adult, but at first, you’re still so unsure of everything, like you’re caught in the middle. Rowe, my heroine, has a lot of extra things going on, too. I can’t give it all away, but she’s trying to grow up but terrified to at the same time. Nate, my hero, is such a good guy, and I really wanted to make him worthy. Maybe it’s because I love baseball so much, and Nate’s a baseball player, but he just had to be good for the soul. And as much as we get to see Rowe fall for Nate, we also get to see Nate make it all happen. And I think others are going to fall for him, too.

Q: Can you give us a little more of the back-story behind the main characters Rowe and Nate?

Ginger Scott:  Hmmmmm, I don’t want to give too much away, because getting to know them is a wonderful part of the ride. Let’s just say Rowe is smart but shell-shocked, and she’s just on the cusp of learning how to dare and challenge herself when we get to meet her. Nate, well he is my Captain America–all warm and fuzzy and chewy and pretty much perfection wrapped up in one hot body. He’s the kind of guy that loves his parents, loves his brother, and is loyal to a fault. I can also tell you that they are two of the funniest characters I’ve written. I laughed so hard at one conversation between the two that I actually teared up.

Q: Your ‘Waiting On The Sidelines Series’ had Reed who played football and ‘Blindness’ had a former motorcross star named Cody and this New upcoming novel ‘This Is Falling’ will have a main character who is a baseball player. I personally enjoy a great story where there is a hot athlete involved, anytime.  Are there ever real life athletes in your mind when you bring to life these wonderful athletic characters in your stories? If so, can you share with us who they are. 🙂

Ginger Scott:  I am an ESPN junkie. I love sports–all sports. And I grew up playing hard and playing with the boys. I think that’s why I love male athlete characters so much–I get them and feel like I can be authentic with them. As for real-life inspirations, absolutely. It’s sort of a mashing up of various athletes I watch and admire. With Reed in ‘Waiting on the Sidelines,’ I don’t think there was a specific person who inspired him, but more my love of high school football and that world. With Cody in ‘Blindness,’ I was able to know a lot about freestyle motocross thanks to a friend who’s son is one of the major X-gamers (Nate Adams). We watch a lot of Nate in our house. And baseball…ah, that’s my wheelhouse. When I wrote Nate Preeter in ‘Falling,’ I drew inspiration from the hundreds of ASU baseball games I’ve been to, and while there isn’t a specific player that is Nate, if you will, there is one that maybe sparked the idea for him in the beginning. And Nate’s a catcher–because Buster Posey is the bomb, and he’s a catcher, too!

Q: Future Novel question: Since sports seems to be a big influence to you, do you have an idea of what kind of athlete you may be writing about next?

Ginger Scott:  My next novel is a companion to ‘This Is Falling.’ It will feature Nate’s brother, Ty, who plays a big role in ‘Falling.’ The Falling Series will tell three stories when complete, each able to be read as a stand-alone, but with characters that connect.

Q: You have definitely succeeded multiple times in the Contemporary Romance, New Adult and Young Adult genres with your novels.  Would you ever consider trying your hand at a completely different genre such as Paranormal, Thriller, Fantasy or any other genre?

Ginger Scott:  I have thought about that many times, especially paranormal. My husband is a HUGE fantasy and paranormal fan, so I would have to come up with something truly unique or else I would never hear the end of it. I have an idea that I’ve made notes on, but it’s still very young. It needs to grow up a little more. Maybe, though…maybe one day.

Q: One more question about your upcoming novel before we end this Q&A.  Will ‘THIS IS FALLING’ be a standalone or will it be a part of a series?

Ginger Scott:  In a way, both. It will be a standalone that connects to other books on other characters, something I’ve always wanted to do. The follow up, featuring Nate’s brother Ty, will be out at the end of 2014.

📚

NOTE: Once again, an immense thank you to Author Ginger Scott for participating in another Q&A with me and for sharing your delightful responses.  Next, comes the excitement of reading and posting my review for your upcoming-novel ‘This Is Falling’.  I’m certain this novel will be as engrossing and compelling as your past work! 🙂
