My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading ‘EL DIABLO’:

Wow! That is the first word that comes to mind after reading “El Diablo” by author M. Robinson. I have not read any of her previous work yet, but if this is any indication as to what to expect from this author, I will definitely be getting my hands on more of her novels. This novel is the first in a new series titled The Devil Series but can be read as a standalone. As far as genres go, this understandably falls under dark, erotica, and is listed as a contemporary romance novel. This dynamic story is told from the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views) from Alejandro “El Diablo” Martinez and Lexi.

Alejandro Martinez was living his young life surrounded by a lifestyle that was fated to be his future. As the son of a notorious and powerful crime boss, his path in life was already predetermined no matter what. The women in his life will always be everything to him, which include his older sister Amari- that he had a close relationship with growing up, his mother Adriana who showed him unconditional love, and his sister’s best friend Sophia. When the evil that lurked all around them finally seeped its way into their home, it was the day that “El Diablo” was born and the innocence of a young teenage-boy would begin to develop into a dark, soulless, and powerful man. The only thing his heart held onto was the love and devotion to family, power, and control.

Alejandro fell in love. Torn between his fate into the violent and gritty world, and his new growing young love, it was either up or down from there. Unfortunately, it was down to a dark and dangerous path for him. His heart was broken, and “El Diablo” was all he would ever be. But, life turns him toward a new and unexpected direction in life to try and lead him to something that he never saw coming. He wasn’t having it, fighting and pushing it as far away as he could in any painful and self-destructive way he could think of. But a strong and powerful love can sometimes even bring the strongest man and the most darkest of hearts- to their knees.

Lexi has had a nightmare for a childhood. Her mother is a broken shell of a woman with addiction problems and her step-father is a wolf in disguise. The only sunshine in her life seems to be her love for dance and ballet. When her world begins to spin out of control, and everything begins to fall apart all around her, she finds herself headed down a new path. She’s strong and not afraid to say how she feels because she is all she has in life. When she meets a man simply known as “El Diablo” in the dark-seedy world she lives in, she can’t help what he makes her feel simply with his eyes. She can’t get him out of her mind for some strange reason. When she finds herself once again face-to-face with “El Diablo”, she can’t let him get the best of her. Will she be able to find her way out of this darkened path or is there more to this darkness than meets-the-eye? Can Lexi find her way down the path of becoming a ballet dancer or will she become a victim of her background? Or, will Lexi fall into a dark hole of heartbreak, hurt, and violence?

I rarely give a perfect rating but “El Diablo” was riveting from start to finish. I couldn’t put it down. The dark twists and the beauty of it were both engaging, and my emotions were on one heck of a roller-coaster ride reading this. My heart was aching for Lexi but her strength shined through keeping the story full of hope for her character. “El Diablo” was a man who never promised to be a prince charming but admitted to being the villain in life. That showed on many occasions but something about this man was very alluring, charming, sexy-as-sin, and heartbreaking. He had to live up to his reputation or risk being killed because love was a weakness that he couldn’t afford or expose in his lifestyle. No matter how much he did live up to his dark and evil ways, he showed his heart in the only ways that he knew how to. I highly recommend this novel if you’re looking for a dark, beautiful, compelling story with so many emotional moments. Reader Warning: This does touch on some sexual abuse briefly and violent situations. This does not disappoint at all! Please check this one out today readers ! Such a damn good novel. And I must add that the Cover is Perfection and that man is exactly how I’d picture Alejandro “El Diablo” to look. Bravo! ❤

Alejandro’s thoughts: My older sister Amari was always the perfect little angel. I, on the other hand, was the devil.

El Diablo’s thoughts: I wouldn’t learn until later in life you never allowed your enemies to see your weaknesses. You could be burning inside, but had to remain cold and heartless on the outside. Even if your whole life was laid out in front of you, dying.

Alejandro and Amari:  “I’ll always be your brother. I will always protect you, no matter what you think of my choices.”
“For now. You’re my brother, for now.”
I stopped dead in my tracks, feeling her intense gaze on my back.
“Even the Devil was an angel once, Alejandro. It’s only a matter of time until you become El Diablo, too.”

Lexi’s thoughts: He was my last resort. Believe me, I didn’t want to have to sell my soul to the Devil, But what other choice did I have?

El Diablo’s thoughts:  I had killed. I had avenged. I had loved. I had destroyed lives and now it was my time to pay for being the Grim fucking Reaper, taking lives that didn’t belong to me.

El Diablo’s thoughts:  She wanted me, maybe as much as I wanted her. I had to prove to her this illusion she had in her mind about me, about us…
Was just that.
A fucking fantasy.
A creation of a fairy tale in her mind. I didn’t do happily ever afters, and the sooner she realized who I really was, the better.

Lexi’s thoughts:  I wanted to know every single thing about him, including the man beneath the ruthless bastard…
Behind the power.
Behind the suit.
Behind the dominance.
Underneath the bright green, soulless eyes which showed no emotion whatsoever. Not one.
