The Midnight Hour 1

The Synopsis:

The only true destiny is love.
And love is not always about happy endings.

Michelle Keller-Jarvis doesn’t know it yet, but she’s going to die.
Beautiful, rich and an immortal werewolf, no one suspects how ready she is to risk everything to keep her daughter, Logan, safe from Xavier’s royal clutches.

A prequel to The Violet Hour, this novella offers readers a chance to hear Michelle’s story of a plan eleven years in the making gone horribly wrong.
When destiny makes its demands, sometimes the strongest don’t survive.

My ‘Blogging Reader’s ARC-Review’ after reading ‘THE MIDNIGHT HOUR’ (Violet Hour Series – Book #0.5) by Andrea L. Wells:

***WARNING: Possible SPOILERS if you haven’t read the previous novel of The Violet Hour Series yet.***

Here is my review for the brief but juicy novella of  the Violet Hour Series by the wonderful author Andrea L. Wells. This is a Young Adult novella that gives us backstory to the story that takes place in “The Violet Hour” which is enrich with a captivating romance and a deep layer of paranormal in the story-line. This novella story has been written from one main P.O.V.(point of view) from Logan’s mother Michelle and a brief epilogue from the P.O.V. of the villain in the story, Xavier.

Michelle Keller-Jarvis is a famous super model, the mother to Logan, and wife to her real estate mogul husband Richard. The only thing that very few people know about her is that she’s practically immortal, a werewolf shifter, and is carrying a secret about her daughter. The closer they get to Logan’s birthday, the more Michelle worries about what the future holds for her daughter. So she sets up a plan to try to protect her daughter while risking her own life in the process.

Michelle hopes that her plan works out for her daughter Logan and that she will be able to send her to live with her ex-husband, Logan’s father Kevin Keller. The fact that she knows Alpha werewolf leader Xavier is set on an agreement they all made long ago, makes the urgency stronger to find an alternative to try and change Xavier’s focus. Will it work? How far will Michelle go to protect Logan?

This novella is short but carries a lot of extra information that fills in some information readers will enjoy to this new series. You’ll find some emotional scenes that will hit you stronger if you’ve read the first full-length novel of this series titled “The Violet Hour.” The love of a mother for her child is admirable and beautiful. This novella is worth the read but highly recommend that you read The Violet Hour first and follow it up with this intriguing novella.  This is worth checking out! 🙂

How I imagined the characters while reading ‘THE MIDNIGHT HOUR’:

The Midnight Hour 2

Michelle’s thoughts:  I’ve never forgotten that day, in Xavier’s palace, when I learned we weren’t untouchable. Immortality brought agelessness and being a werewolf gave you a very short list of things you could die from. But neither could save you from Xavier.

Xavier’s thoughts:  Admiring her photos, I briefly thought of Logan as a potential mate. I’ve dated hundreds of girls but none like Logan. To be honest, Logan could be my exact type – a perfect and my only true match. However appealing the idea, there was a crucial deal breaker: I wanted nothing to do with the female werewolf side of her, or any mate for that matter.
