The Synopsis for ‘Fighting The Fall’:
The toughest fighters aren’t created in the octagon but are born of necessity. When life delivers blow after punishing blow, you fight back or get destroyed.
Eve Dawson has had her fill of bad luck. A string of unhealthy relationships has left her angry, bitter, and frustrated. She’s given up on being happy and settles for content. Swearing off men, she repels advances and makes herself a challenge to even the most persistent suitors. After all, how much can the fragile human heart take? But life isn’t finished with her, and when things can’t possibly get worse . . . they do.
Stay on your feet.
It’s Cameron Kyle’s motto, but with his fighting career ripped from his grasp, a child he wasn’t strong enough to save, and a marriage that even the brawn of a heavyweight couldn’t hold together, it’s getting harder and harder to stay upright. He takes on the position of CEO of the UFL, intent on hiding his biggest weakness in order to forge a path that leads him back into the octagon.
When an old rival mysteriously gets wind of Cameron’s plan to fight again, he comes out of retirement to settle old debts, but secrets, lies, and betrayal threaten to deliver the death-blow. The distraction of a sass-mouthed girl seventeen years his junior is the last thing he needs until a tragic accident shatters the firm foundation of his resolve and he realizes just how far he’s fallen.
Will they risk it all and fight to be together?
Or does defeat lie within the fall?
My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading ‘Fighting The Fall’ (Fighting Series – Book #4):
***WARNING: Possible SPOILERS if you haven’t read the previous Novels of the Fighting Series.***
This is the 4th installment of the Fighting Series from J. B. Salsbury, titled: Fighting The Fall. I have to start this off by saying that this series has yet to get old or boring. The story lines are each intriguing and entertaining in their own ways and make for a great series. In Fighting The Fall we are given the story in the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views); those being Eve Dawson and Cameron Kyle.
We first met Eve Dawson in Book one of the Fighting Series. She is the best friend of Raven Morretti and has always had a bad history when it comes to relationships and love. She is an upbeat, beautiful, blonde in her early-twenties, who had heart broken by someone who deceived her terribly in order to get to her best friend. Coming off the heels of that ordeal, she has decided to put men on the back burner and considers dating women instead. Her friends know she’s been through a lot and are just letting her handle getting over it all in her own way. It works for her…until she meets Cameron.
The new CEO of the UFL Cameron Kyle, is a former champion fighter who had to step away from his passion for the fight to become an important part of the business aspect of the UFL world. Cameron is tall, strong, built like a sexy fighter but he was told long ago that he would no longer be able to fight or he would be risking brain damage and even his life. It caused him to have memory problems and other issues. After that incident, a tragic mistake happens to his family and he feels completely broken and at fault. His family slowly unravels after his heartbreaking ordeal, breaking his marriage apart, and shattering his life. He slowly pieces himself together to the best of his ability but his family is never the same.
Years after Cameron’s life is changed, he meets a blonde beauty that he quickly decides can never become anything to him. The only thing he didn’t expect was how much this electrifying beauty would make him feel things he hadn’t felt for a women in so long or really…ever. Eve can’t help but feel foolish for being attracted to the controlling and secretive, sexy man Cameron. She tries her best to push him away because she has convinced herself that her heart can’t take another sorry man using her and breaking it again.
With pasts that haunt each choice they make in life, can Cameron and Eve ever get beyond the control of their past’s? Will Eve ever be able to trust Cameron? Can Cameron ever open up about his past with someone new or will the past always keep him from getting close to anyone new? This story has a wonderful blend of heartbreak, romance, drama, and the sexy men of the UFL world we’ve come to love in the Fighting Series. I do recommend this amazing story with enjoyable characters. Check this one out!

MY BLOGGING READER’S STAR RATING: ‘FIGHTING THE FALL’ 4 out of 5 stars:
How I imagined the characters while reading ‘FIGHTING THE FALL’:
★‘FIGHTING THE FALL’ TEASERS:★
★★★MEMORABLE QUOTES & LINES FROM ‘FIGHTING THE FALL’★★★
Cameron’s thoughts: He can’t mean it. He can’t. I want to tell him that he can’t do this! Fighting is my life. I can’t lose it. I will not lose everything over something I had zero control over.
Eve’s thoughts: I mean sure he’s handsome in a way that makes Justin Timberlake look like a girl, but I’m off men forever, especially superhot ones that don’t simply walk into a room. That guy prowled. He looks like the kind of man who, when faced with something he wants, doesn’t ask. He takes. A warm rush of excitement turns in my belly.
Eve’s thoughts: Why do I feel so sorry for myself now that he’s leaving? Because I want more. I always want more. That’s my problem. I want to be the girl that a man can’t live without.
Cameron’s thoughts: Is that…? My blood pounds through my veins. The mingling crowd obscures my view, until she emerges. It’s Eve. She’s here, at my house, and looks better than my fantasies have recalled.
Eve’s thoughts: I’m finally getting something I’ve always wanted, someone whose basic instinct is to protect me. And now that I have it, I want to run like hell in the opposite direction.
Cameron’s thoughts: I’ve never been around a woman like this, one who can look as though she belongs on the runway but speaks as if she were raised in a gym with a bunch of guys.
Cameron and Eve: “No, it’s about you. You give it to me the way I like, listen when I need you to listen, but fight me when I need you to fight me. And I fuckin’ love it when you fight me, babe. I’m thinking I’d like to get in there while you’re pissed at me. Watch you come unglued while I’m buried deep.”
Her eyes slide closed. “Damn.”
“You want that too.”
